Gaz Hock gets 5 game ban

I think he's a a very lucky boy only getting a 5 game ban for these cowardly acts.

Ryan McGoldrick was also given a 2 game ban for his late strike on Sam Obst.

As a Cas fan am kind of happy about this, as Matterson will have to play Mathers in his actual position of full back rather than at centre. McGoldrick's performances range from poor and conterproductive to man of the match. Unfortunately the former seems to be his standard over the last few weeks. If he could cut out his petulant little acts (like the one on Sam Obst) he would be a very valuable player for us, but would rather play him in the second row or centre.

Does anyone know if £300 fine is the maximum the RFL give out? Found it a bit odd that even though Hock got given a 5 game ban and Mcgoldrick a 2 game ban both were fined £300.

8 games at most for gouging? Are you kidding?

It was a stupid thing to do , no place for it in rugby league

I dont condone or condem it but i think its a bit rediculous when fans start trying to debate the length of a ban.

The range of lengths of these bans and variation in fines are so impossible to predict and individual to the event ive basically come to the decision that if the RFL say its a 1 game, 2 game, 10 game ban and no one appeals then it probably a resonable decision.
