New Mexican Talent Joins WWE

WWE today unveiled their latest Superstar signing, Sin Cara, formerly known worldwide as Mistico. The announcement took place today during a press conference in his hometown Mexico City, where passionate fans of all ages turned out to see their favorite performer become the newest addition to the WWE roster.

Having already forged a strong international fan following, Sin Cara, known for his high flying style and awe inspiring acrobatics, is expected to reach new heights of global success with WWE.

“Sin Cara is a tremendous performer who brings the crowd to its feet every time he steps into the ring,” said Stephanie McMahon, Executive Vice President, WWE. “With us, his stardom will only get bigger and brighter.”

Upon his signing, Sin Cara said, “WWE is the pinnacle of sports-entertainment. It is an honor and a thrill for me to be able to perform with the world’s best. Being a WWE Superstar will present new challenges, new mountains to climb and new competition. It is a new beginning and a new life. With that in mind, I have chosen the new name of Sin Cara in hopes to represent all the legendary Mexican masked performers and to carry the banner of their legacy to the entire world.”

How do you see this one going peeps, a new target for Del Rio, or a fued with Rey on a like for like basis?

I've seen Mistico a few times on youtube and he's rey but younger and more agile.Perfect replacement.

the move on time 2.02 is amazing, its like a canadian destroyer with a head sissors takedown. Great Move !

he looks great, a bigger version of Rey and just as good with the high flying moves. Can wait to see him.

he started fcw a month ago after he finished his commitments . vince wants him on the roster asap due to the amount of money he had to pay to get him into wwe.

The move at about 1:00 is insane too.

He looks a great addition to the roster.

Defo see a Del Rio/Mysterio v Mistico feud in the future.

He is John Cena level face in his home country and this is a cracking move by WWE to get him on board, though not overly looking forward to a 619fest of him and Rey, there's bound to be a moment where both of them do it to Del Rio in a match.

anyone notice that in the video when he hit the 6-1-9 the guy just got up straight away?

i hope it doesnt come to a 619fetsa, Mistico has so many other moves to use as a finisher.

Im thinking way ahead, but imagine the matches we could witness if he went on a long fued with JoMo. The styles eachother have would complement eachother perfectly, almost like when Eddie G (Rip) and Rey 1st started off.

i saw that nando, im guessing instead of the splash off the ropes, it sets up a sweet springboard dropkick instead.

what does concern me is mistico and del rio both have a armbar for a finisher. so it'll be interesting to see if they make him use something else maybe that tiger bomb piledriver?

i cant see him using the 619 or the arm bar in all honesty, but given the talent that Mistico clearly has, it wouldnt be hard to make a new move for him or use the tiger bomb piledriver

What do you reckon the chances of Mistico, sorry Sin Cara, being allowed to go balls to the wall are though? Think he'll be allowed to 'upstage' Rey Mysterio?

I think WWE should just let him do what he does best, the fact that he can't speak English means that he'll only have his matches to get himself over, though that won't be a problem because he's an awesome talent. Anyway, he's a direct replacement for Mysterio, who ain't exactly the King of Promos so he should be alright in that department.

the armbar spinning finisher is fantastic - they would be crazy to get rid of it.

There is no reason why small guys shouldnt have submission finishers - its much more plausible than a powermove.

I actually think they’ll push Mistico to the roof, Rey has called the shots far too many times as he knew he was cash cow for them with the latin market. Now a younger, more agile and potentially a bigger star is here I expect Rey to quickly find his nose out of joint.

Has Mistico not been in FCW for a while while they try and knock some of the Lucha Libre stuff out of him or is that El Generico?

This guy looks amazing, that Hurricarana arm bar thingy move looks brill. I just hope he is not thrown into fueds with Big Show, Kane, Khali etc. Imagine the matches he oculd have with Bourne, Gabriel, Re, Del Rio, Kofi etc

What about the possibility of Sin Cara joining forces with Alberto Del Rio as his accomplice/replacement in non title matches, Del Rio would be a perfect mouthpiece and has the character (if he was World Champion) to pull off "I'm not fighting you, but this guy will!"

Jim Ross tweeted the following on Sin 'Mistico' Cara: "Mistico is signed, sealed & delivered w/ WWE. Now known as Sin Cara. Helluva young hand. A new star looms on the horizon. Congrats Sin Cara. Every major media outlet in Mexico City present 4 Sin Cara media announcement. He's doing 1 on 1's now w/ them including espn deportes. It was great 2 rep WWE in Mexico City 4 Sin Cara signing anouncement. Appreciate the opportunity to step back on the field, so 2 speak. WWE has high hopes for Sin Cara. He has many new masks. Major TV 'rollout,' He's 27 & has (opportunity to be) main eventer. A flyer, offensive innovator." This is obviously WWE's plan for the next Rey Mysterio.

Rey has now had his say on Mistico joining WWE:

Mysterio said, "I think the opportunity now shown is that the doors are open for anybody that has the quality to be part of WWE." Mysterio continued, "You have the talent, you have the desire to be a superstar, come and the doors will be open and if you can make it, you'll be one of the top dogs. Alberto (Del Rio) is a big proof."

"When I came into the United States, I pretty much followed the Guerreros and Jerichos, a path as they just left Mexico and went on to ECW, WCW and WWE. So it was kind of a little train that we were taking around. It kind of feels good in a way that those doors have been opened for other Mexican wrestlers. Like you said, now with Mistico coming in, I want to say that I think those doors were eventually opened by the talent that myself, Eddie and a lot of wrestlers that started their careers in Mexico have opened up for other guys."
