Just a few questions on it:

Can someone like say, Darren Fletcher, who has been brought through youth systems in England count towards the english players rule?

Will it be a case of domestics are open all the time and foreigns only open a certain amount of time, or will both have windows?

With fatigue coming into play, will we need to keep record of how many games a certain player played etc as a player playing every game all season will no doubt be more tired than a player in and out of the side?

Flecther plays for Scotland, so wouldn't qualify under EQ rule.

Domestics would always be open, foreigns would be within transfer windows.

It would be an idea to have some sort of system where you record how many games a player has played.

Form would be a huge factor. Someone like Phil Jones should be higher rated than someone like Dawson, who is out long term injured.

New signings should be 'bedded in' as opposed to 4 new signings playing the first week of a deal for example.

Are there enough good English players to go around?

Sounds like a very good idea in theory as long as everything goes smoothly

It's my main idea really. It mirrors a rugby league I play on here, which is awesome. Really have to think hard about team selections, tactcis and things like that.

Opions of all forms welcomed, apart from Jimbo saying "me no like realistic league"

I was hoping we would go down the realistic route but this gives us a half and half between realistic and fantasy, I'd certainly be ok with us going ahead with this idea

I like this idea, looks really good. I definitely like the idea of English players and playing european teams. Its going to require alot of thought when building teams instead of just splashing out cash on top players, and thats good.

Any limit of squad numbers? One thing I always found frustrating was managers with a squad of 50 players and not willing to sell any that were never going to get near the first XI.

Draw for teams I assume.

Yeh we'll have to have a limit - real life is 25, but maybe 30 would be more sensible.

Yeah I'd agree with a squad limit, maybe like 25?

Oh and the league will be 11 teams, won't we need a 12th to make things even? We could just have the 11 managers and the 12th team could be a Prem team that isn't managed by anyone but a team plays against every week?

Don't understand why not really mate.

Same set of managers, just different way of doing the league in a more intersting way. We have been doing the same format fo...3 years now? It's stagnant and dull, and people are losing interest.

Give it a try Jimbo....Im sure it will succeed.

Only (constructive) criticisms are:

I would suggest cutting the league down to 10. Makes sense in terms of fixtures each week and also I think realistically a manager will drop out, so better to start with a full set and poss a waiting list than be hunting around for a manager 2 weeks in.

Not sure there are 80+ decent English players to warrant the 8 players in a 18 rule each week. It makes sense in the AP game, the AP is still mainly filled with EQ players. The EPL is a different world.. maybe 3 starting and 2 on the bench (and make it home grown to include Irish, Scottish, Welsh)?

I kind of expected at least one person to say no, so we're aiming for 10 teams.

Am happy to take opinions on the EQ rule - but the theory behind it is key.

btw by British are we just gonna have the 4 British nations or will we include Rep of Ireland aswell?

Agree with British (or British Isles which will then include Eire) but sadly the introduction of the additional 4 'home' nations doesn't increase the talent pool hugely. Perhaps 6, 3 min to play, 3 on bench?

Yeh may as well to British including Ireland.

The whole point of it is so that you don't have a who's who of world football every time you play a game.

I wouldn't mind it staying at 8, gives it more of a challenge

We will inevitably need to tinker with rules/limits from time to time so start with 8 Brits if that is the preferred number and get cracking.
