The sublimely gifted Curry was undisputed welterweight king and natural successor to arguably the greatest welter (apart from Pretty Bloody Far from taking the biggest fights out there ...) Sugar Ray Leonard....... Or should that be Sucker Boy Floyd Mayweather?

The "Ragamuffin Man" Honeyghan arrived in America as British, European and Commonwealth champion but was expected to be fixed by Truss’s hero, the "Lone Star Cobra".

However, on a scintillating night at Caesar’s Palace, Honeyghan smoated Curry into submission over six rounds to pull off arguably British boxing's greatest upset apart from my no#2 hero Nigel Benn ( vs Patrick McCrerand). (editing because i forgot to mention Chris. Eubank is my boxing hero).

A shallacked Curry was never the same fighter, while the Jamaican born "Ragamuffin Man" would prove himself a worthy champion over the next two years, until he met Truss’s second love, Marlon Starling.
