Please post your League match tactics with the format and title as below:

Gameweek 1. “YOUR TEAM IN CAPS” vs “opposition team”

Line-up:

Subs:

Captain:

Tactics:

Obviously your Lineup should include 11 players and 7 Subs.

Make sure you check your weeks Injuries as if any injured players are part of the starting 11 this will affect your team and effectively they will be starting with 10 players.

There are no restrictions on tactics but please try not to make them too long as we’d like to take into consideration managers have a minimum of four sets to read through on voting days.

Anyone who consistently Copy and Pastes tactics every week may find their teams results take a nose dive.

LIVERPOOL v benfica

----------------Akinfeev-----------------
M.Kelly----Bonucci----M.Skrtel----Enrique
------------M'Vila------M.Diarra----------
S.Pepe----------Canales---------Downing
----------------L.Suarez-----------------
Subs- Doni, Coates, Diaby, Henderson, Carroll, Sam, Matri
Captain:- Bonucci
Penalties- Suarez

1st game up and we go in with a few new faces, confidence is high....

Akinfeev in goal, a confident keeper..Great experience and will lead from the back, keep his defence right. He is an excellent shot stopper and good in the air. Any high crosses in then he will come to collect or punch clear..he will also look to get the fb's/wingers away down the flank quickly..

Kelly and Enrique at full back. They both like to attack and have great speed so will help the wingers in front, they will give the ball and power on down the wing to get the ball back or can cut inside making an extra man in the middle. They only attack one at a tie, we cant let the defense be exposed. Defending they have to match the wingers. Like said both are quick so will keep up with them and keep them to the outside.
Bonucci in the middle is the leader he keeps the back line together, if they play two up front then he will watch the deeper lying CF, if only one he will sit spare and watch for any open spaces they try to exploit and he will be there to intercept. Skrtel marks the main striker, keep close to him, not allowing him to turn or get into any dangerous spaces. Stop him, be fair but hard.

M'Vila and Diarra are the wall in front of the defense, there to break up play and get the ball forward. M'Vila will watch the main danger and stick to him like glue, whilst Diarra watches any other CM coming through, both are big hard guys and wont take any prisoners, they will strike fear into there opposite numbers and force them into silly mistakes and lose the ball.

In front of them are a quick and skill, dangerous 3, Canalas is a tricky player and will look to cause mayhem, he will pick up the ball from behind him and drive forward, getting the ball out wide or through for Suarez. Or he has the skill to take on the DM and get into the box himself. He sometimes drifts out wide so this will allow Pepe and Downing to come inside and take the FBs with them leaving space for Enrique/Kelly/Canales to exploit and get the ball in.
Downing and Pepe are pretty direct. speedy wingers, will go down the flank looking to beat there makers and get the ball in, they will do this for the entire time they are on. They will also look for Canales coming out wide and when he does they can cut in looking for a cross or return ball. With help form the two behind them they will really test the defense.
Suarez is the main danger man up front, not a huge man so will look to get the ball to feet, he is good in the air however but mostly he like to get the ball at feet and turn and beat his marker. Collect from those around him he will look to run the line so no one can pick him up, if the defender follows him this will create gaps for other runners to get into..

All 4 front men will have to get back and defend, following the players they are up against..Suarez wont get to far back, but will harrass those who have the ball and try and force them into mistakes.

Subs:-

70 Minutes-

Losing/Drawing

Matri > Canales - Matri will go up front with Suarez - 4-4-2

Winning:-

Diaby > Canales - swill sit deeper but still make late runs into the box

80 Minutes:-

Losing:-

Carroll > Pepe - 4-2-4

-------M'Vila-Diarra-------
Suarez------------Downing
------Carroll-Matri---------

Malaga tactics to beat Lyon

--------------------Caballero
---Castro----Demichelis--Jorgensen----Monreal
-------------------Toulalan
------------Maresca-------Baptista
----Joaquin------------------------Cazorla
--------------------Kießling

BENCH
Martinez
Gamez
Stadsgaard
Camacho
Belluschi
Rondon
Van Nistelrooy

TACTICS
We will all go out wearing mankinis today, which should be offputting to the Lyon side. In the heat of Malaga, which we are used to, we will use that to our advantage. It will be vital that we keep possession and pass the ball around to tire our opponents. With a five man midfield we are set up to hold onto the ball. A key point will be to keep Gourcuff quiet as he is a key man for them and will be their main playmaker.

DEFENSE
Castro and Monreal are both fairly quick full backs but with the threats posed by the Lyon wingers we should hold back today and have them rarely venture forward. If their wingers are in possession then be ready to jockey them down the line. Lopez is a very quick player and we should be very physical against him as he lacks height. Keeping concentration is crucial and we need to be organised. Demichelis has the responsibility of organising the back four due to his experience.

MIDFIELD
Overall we should try to suffocate them and make them go for long balls upfield which should cause them to struggle as their strikers aren't very tall. Toulalan will sit just in front of the back four and has the responsibilty of keeping Gourcuff out of the game. Generally we want to keep the ball and we will have a steady build up. Maresca is good at long range passing and should occasionally try to hit long balls out wide to the wingers, who have pace and should try to get on the last man as their full backs will push forward leaving them exposed. Cazorla is equally capable with both feet so can go either side of his full back, causing problems if they try to force him out wide. Baptista should try to drive forward, as should Maresca.

ATTACK
Kießling is a tall striker and has a height advantage over their centre backs. He should get crosses in from the two wingers and can win balls. He will look to hold up the play for Baptista, Cazorla and Joaquin to get involved. He is prolific in front of goal and should put away his chances.

SET PIECES
Left Corner - Cazorla
Right Corner - Maresca
Free Kicks - Cazorla
Penalties - Kießling
Captain - Demichelis

SUBSTITUTIONS
If winning then bring on Camacho for Maresca or Baptista, adding more steel to the midfield to help us hold onto the lead.

If drawing then bring on Rondon for Baptista, move to a 4-4-2 and attack more. Van Nistelrooy could come on for Kießling late on.

If losing then bring on Rondon, RVN and Belluschi for Joaquin, Baptista, Maresca, move to an attacking 4-3-3 and go for high balls. We have three tall strikers and eventually they will crack under pressure.

JUVENTUS vs Lazio

------------------------------------Buffon------------------------

--------------------------Chiellini--------------------Barzaghli---

-----Fucile------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aurelio
----------------------------------------Pirlo------------

---------Taddei--------------------------------------------------------------------Krancjar

---------------------------------------Arshavin--------------------

--------------------------Iaquinta------------------Vucinic------------

SUBS: Manninger,Spearing,Behrami,maxi Rodriguez,Saviola,Toni

my team's captain for the game is: Giorgio Chiellini....

TACTICS:

KEEPER: Buffon starts in goal. One of the world's best keepers solid inbewteen the sticks, and inspires confidence throughout the side.

DEFENCE: Fucile and aurelio like to get forward. my defence is weakened with the loss of grosso, however aurelio is very attacking and offers width down the left hand side. Fucile is a very solid defender, Has the right mix between defence and attack, and dosent let the side down. The expereinced pair of chiellini and barazaghli, two quality defeneders, will look to keep quiet the lazio forwards, chiellini is strong in the air

MIDFIELD: Taddiei and krancjar are on the wings for this match. Taddei does like to tuck inside, as does krancjar, however this will allow aurelio to bomb past krancjar on the wing when we are attacking, krancjar can defend, he isnt shy of putting in a tackle, same with Taddei. With Aurelio very attack minded, i needed a class defensive midfeilder in place, and i have that with Pirlo. He will look to sit in front of the defence, and hover around the half way line, and maybe look to push forward on occasions. Arshavin will play at the front of this midfeild diamond. He can score goals from midfeild and is a class act.

FORWARDS: iaquinta and vucninic, are both natural goal scorers, and will look to provide the threat in attack, in the air, and on the floor.

SUBS: if the score is level at half time, then Behrami will look to come on for Taddei, and offer more natural width. If i go behind, then Maxi would come on for Krancjar, and offer more of a goal socring threat.

45 mins: behrami for Taddei
75mins: Maxi rodriguez for Krancjar
80 mins: Saviola for Vucninic

Juventus v LAZIO

Alan McGregor

Daniel Schwaab-Daniel Agger-Andre Dias-Javier Gariddo

David Pizarro-Christian Brocchi-Christian Ledesma

Matazulem

Tommaso Rocchi-Landon Donovan

Subs:
Frederico Marchetti
Luis Pedro Cavanda
Marius Stankevicius
Ruben Amorim
Giuseppe Sculli
Djibril Cisse
Sani Emmanuel

Lazio are going to play an experimental 4-3-1-2 formation. This formation will be used to allow the playmaker Matazulem next to no defence responsibilities and therefore him having free reign when the team is attacking. The midfield three will have Pizarro and Ledesma looking for the ball at all times so they can use their excellent passing abilities to set Matazulem free to feed the front two. Christian Brocchi’s job is to use his experience and win the ball in the midfield whilst also shielding the back four from any counter attacks. The front pairing has a target man in Rocchi who will also use his experience to overpower the Juventus defence and will have Donovan and Matazulem looking to feed off the scraps he wins.

Specific Player Instructions:

Alan McGregor: He will be looking to prove he can continue recent years form in a higher standard of league and will be on a high after his captaincy. Will look to feed full backs when he has ball and quickly start attacks.

Daniel Schwaab: Solid defender who will look to take ball from McGregor and push forward when possible. He will add a bit of width in attacks to a narrow midfield and will look to feed Pizarro and Ledesma with ball. Great stamina and will be able to support throughout 90 minutes

Daniel Agger: Will be ball winner in the air. He’ll look to rough up opposition strikers and in particular Arshavin with physical presense and will play simple pass out of defence to start attacks.

Andres Dias: Slightly more pace than his CB partner and will look to fill in holes that may be created when Agger is attacking the ball in air.

Javier Garrido: Like opposite full back will look to take ball from the goalkeeper and support midfield with both passes and his width.

David Pizarro: Will help Brocchi more on defensive side of things with Bulldog like approach. Has great engine so will help Matazulem in going forward but will more than capable of remembering his defensive duties. Passing ability will be used to feed front three before supporting in attack.

Christian Brocchi: Experience is key in midfield. He’ll use his sensible head to remain disciplined to protect defence and break up attacks. When in possession will look to feed Ledesma and Pizarro with ball to allow them to get forward.

Christian Ledesma: Most gifted of midfield three and will always be looking to take ball from team mate and make killer pass forward. Good shooting ability so will also have no fear in taking ball for run and shooting when in range.

Matazulem: Main creative force and key to team succeeding. Will run at defences and use skill and pace to take the ball past them. His passing ability is also important as he will look for the feet of Rocchi and look to move into position to claim it back or support Donovan.

Tommaso Rocchi: Target man and will always look for ball into feet to hold up for supporting midfield and striking partner. Use his experience to get in face of defenders and allow them no time to think or use ball effectively.

Landon Donovan: Will use pace to run at defenders and will always be looking to take passes from midfield to do so. Will also use pace to get in behind defenders and take any flick ons from Rocchi. Good eye for goal so not afraid to shoot.

Subs

Regardless of team situation:

65 minutes:
Ruben Amorim for Christian Brocchi: With Brocchi’s age he will struggle to keep up with pace of game and will be swapped for like minded player to see out the game and keep formation and tactics the same.

If losing or drawing:

70 minutes:

Tommaso Rocchi for Djibril Cisse: Cisse’s pace will frighten back four who will have tired legs after 70 minutes already played. He’ll look to take ball and run at defenders.

David Pizarro for Sani Emmanuel: Matazulem will drop into three man midfield but will keep role as playmaker. Emmanuel will come on as third striker and team will bombard opposition defence. Sani is another pacey striker so again will look to use his pace against tired legs.

Changed formation in attack:

Matazulem-Ruben Amorim-Christian Ledesma
Sani Emmanuel-Landon Donovan-Djibril Cisse

If winning:

Andre Dias for Marius Stankevicius: Stankevicius will look to keep attackers on toes at all times and will added much needed fresh legs to the back four.

Team Talk

Right lads, this is the first game of the season, its time to show the rest of the league how good we really are. Im putting out an attacking formation but with García as a holding midfielder to provide that extra bit of cover for the back four. I want to see a smooth passing game. You are all good on the ball so no long balls up to the front two. Work the ball from the defence and through the midfield and down the wings. Always get yourself into space to look for the ball. Make triangles around the opposition to make it easier to receive the ball, once you have passed the ball move ahead into the space to receive the ball back. I want to see plenty of pace on the wings and overlapping play with he fullbacks. I want a high tempo game, as soon as you see someone in space pass them the ball, dont give Liverpool the time to close us down. When we dont have the ball close them down quick, cancel out their midfield, get in their faces, win the second balls and counter attack with our pace.

Specific Instructions
Eduardo - GK
You are my first choice keeper this season son and I want you to lead by example at the back. Communication with the back four is vital. The penalty area is yours, be dominant in it and take command. When you have the ball, look for Krasic on the wing, play it to his chest or feet. If the marking is tight, roll the ball out to Lichtsteiner and we will work it from defence.

Luisão--Dedé - CB's
The new Brazilian partnership, a force to be reckoned with! Use your power and height to out muscle in the air. When Liverpool are attacking, keep your position and close them down. Keep a good line with the full backs and we can trap them with offsides. Protect your keeper and get the block on any long range efforts. When you have the ball, work it to García who will spread the play ahead of you. Luisão, get yourself up for corners, and with your height get your head on the ball to get us a goal!

Lichtsteiner--Emerson - LB/RB
Keep a good line with the CB's, but I want to see you using your pace on those wings. Link up with Krasic and Gaitán respectively, overlap with them giving us great width to get those crosses in. But first and foremost you are defenders, remember that.

García - CDM
You have an important role today mate. Sitting in front of the back four providing cover, you are the heart of the midfield and will start off most of the play. Spread the ball wide to Krasic and Gaitán, there will be plenty of options available ahead of you so look for the easy pass so we keep the ball. When Liverpool are playing through the middle, close down your player, get the foot in to win the ball back.

Krasic--Gaitán - LW/RW
Krasic, Eduardo will be looking to you for the goal kicks, you have an excellent first touch and use your pace and skill to beat your marker. Lichtsteiner will be hugging the wing which will give you the opportunity to cut inside and play 1-2's with César to give you the space to advance. You have raw talent son, use it. When you get the space shoot, with the wicket right foot of yours the keeper wont even see the ball until its in the goal behind him.
Gaitán, I need you to keep on the wing with Emerson. Get the crosses in from the left. Protect that left side and make it your territory. Slide the ball through to Nilmar who will be making the runs behind their defence.

Cardozo--César--Nilmar
César I want you to play in the hole behind Cardozo and Nilmar. Look for the ball from García and from the wings. Dont hesitate to shoot from outside the box once you work it onto your left. Likewise Cardozo, if you find yourself in space shoot. Test their keeper, you both have the ability so I want to see you use it. Nilmar, Gaitán will be sliding the ball through to you, use your pace to beat your man and close in on the keeper with your pace. The three of you will scare any defence, I want to see plenty of goals! Cardozo you take the free kicks.

Substitutions

If losing after 60mins, Nolito to come on for César in a 4-3-3
-----------------Eduardo --------------
Lichtsteiner --Luisão--Dedé--Emerson---
---Krasic---------García------Gaitán----
--------Cardozo--Nolito--Nilmar------

García to hold the midfield together but with a more attacking front 3. Nolito, I need you to put pressure on the Liverpool defence to create space for Nilmar to run into. Cardozo, look for the runs of Nolito and Krasic on either side of you. You have half an hour to get us back in the game!

If winning, keep original formation until 75 mins and change to a 4-4-2 with César coming off for Airton
-----------------Eduardo --------------
Lichtsteiner --Luisão--Dedé--Emerson---
---Krasic----García--Airton --Gaitán----
----------Cardozo-----Nilmar-----------

Airton, hold that midfield strong with García, break down any attacks. Lichtsteiner & Emerson I need you to stay back and only push up just passed the half way line. Close them down quickly and keep the ball when we have it.

Gameweek 3 vs Malaga
Line Up:
--------------------------------Lloris--------------------------------

Beck------------------Cris-------------Koné------------Cissokho

----------------------Gourcuff---------Fofana--------------------

Frei----------------------------------------------------------Bastos
-----------------------------------Dempsey
--------------------------López

Subs: Vercoutre, Réveillère, Lovren, Ederson, Källström, Gomis, Briand

Captain: Cris, lead by example.
General: Play counter attack. Play down the wing, want to cut out the middle of the park. Play with pace so move the ball quick and keep them off it. Defend from the front, work as a team and play for each other.

Lloris: Command the area, communicate with defence at all times. Keep punching to a minimal, catch as much as you can within reason/if possible. He has immense shot stopping abilities.

Defence: Communication is key, talk and help each other out. Cris and Koné have different attributes which will complement each other. Both will go forward for attacking corners one attacking front post, other centre and alternating each time.

Cris – Man mark the target man, not too tight but don’t let him play off your shoulder, stay goal side of him at all times. Challenge for all headers and get the tackles in, not too rough as we want to avoid cards. With the ball send it to the wings.

Koné – Man mark the SS if there is one, stay tight on him not letting him turn and challenge him for every ball. If there isn’t act as sweeper. Use your height to win all ariel balls. Get stuck in. With the ball send it out to the wings.

Beck and Cissokho - Both defend and attack very well. Mark opposition wingers, try block all crosses, keep them wide and don't let them cut inside. Do not go to ground.
Beck – Focus on keeping the opposition winger quiet doing all the above. You can go forward but I don’t want you pushing up too much, only overlap when we are on a quick break. Crosses in from deep, be available for Lennon to pass to.
Cissokho – Mark the opposition winger, stay tight in order to give him less space and win the ball quicker setting off a counter attack. Attacking support Bastos but I want you bursting forward too, overlap or burst through on the inside of Bastos, the latter could be more effective as you may not be picked up as quickly..

Fofana – Midfield general. Want you to get all over the pitch. If there is a AM then keep an eye on him, mark when he gets into an advance position, any other time get across the pitch. Protect the back four. Go for headers, get tackles in, own the pitch, make it yours! Attacking wise I want you to distribute the ball, the wide men will keep the width so be the middle man in switching from flank to flank, keep the ball moving at all times. If you see a gap send López though.

Bastos – Track back and help out the fullback when needed, doubling up on the opposition winger or if the opposition fullbacks push forward track and attempt to tackle them. Cissokho will be overlapping you and making runs on the inside of you too, when he burst forward I want you to be cautious and just ease up slightly so you are ready to cover the LB position which will allow our defence to shift back into its natural positions.

Frei – Track back and help out the fullback when needed, doubling up on the opposition winger or if the opposition fullbacks push forward track and attempt to tackle them. Attacking, get the crosses in.

Gourcuff – Deep lying playmaker today. Spread the ball around, distribute it across the whole pitch. Make late runs forward, this should help lose markers. Play through balls and shoot from distance.

Dempsey – Play in the hole, support López but I’ll give you a free role to work your magic. Shoot if you have an opportunity. Use your trickery to feed López through. When defending help the midfield close the opposition down and win back possession.

López – Out and out striker today. Play off the shoulder. Make forward runs and look for through balls. Crosses will be flying in so do your best to get a head on them Shoot on sight.

Subs:
Källström for Gourcuff in the 78th minute.

Corners: Gourcuff
Free Kick
Right Bastos
Left Gourcuff
Pen López

Tactics for game week 2

LIVERPOOL v lyon

- - - - - - - McCarthy - - - - - - -
Kelly - Bonucci - - Rami - Enrique
- - Montolivo - - - Casemiro - -
L.Suarez - - Dzagoev - - Downing
- - - - - -- Huntelaar - - - - - - -

Jones, Wilson, De Silvestri, Adam, Pepe, Canales,Matri

Young McCarthy in goal, a good shot stopper and confident in his ability. Good in the air and will punch clear what he cant catch. Will look to release the quick men early.

Bonucci and Rami will provide a brick wall in front of him to give him as much support as possible. Rami will pick up the main striker and Bonucci will pick up the second one if played, other wise he will sit spare and watch for any players moving into free positions. Both are big lads so any high balls into the area wont be a problem and cleared easily, quick on the ground so will keep up with the striker(s). Mark tightly and dont give them a sniff on goal. Kelly and Enrique good solid fullbacks. When defending they will stay tight on the wingers not allowing them to come inside, attacking they will get forward and support the wingers ONE AT A TIME, get beyond them and make an extra man down the flank to get the ball in for the forwrds.
Casemiro will be the main DM he will pick up Lyons main AM and stick to him like glue for the entire match, his job is simple, stop the guy dictating and get in hard on him. Montolivo will watch for the ball breaking free and get it moving forward, he has a great range of passing and will pick out the wingers or get it forward to the front 2..He will help Casemiro when defending and watch any CM's coming through.
Ahead of them is Dzagoev, Suarez and Downing, a quick and dangerous 3 who will at times inter change, Suarez will cut inside looking for Dzagoev and Huntelaar he will also have support at times from Kelly and this will allow him to cut in. He will look to pass to Dzagoev and break into the box for the return ball. Downing a more direct winger who likes to get down the line and beat his marker to get the ball in, he will also look to Dzagoev in the middle like Suarez. Dzagoev is the pivotal man, he sits just behind Huntelaar and will roam free, will pick the ball up from wide or Montolivo and look to get Huntelaar free. He will support Huntelaar as much as possible and get himself into the box. All 3 will get back and watch fullbacks and DMs getting forward. Huntelaar is a great striker and his movement is vital, Huntelaar will need to stay away from the centre backs and look to either free himself up to get the ball or take defenders away to allow space for the 3 behind him to move into, look to commit defenders and draw them into fouls with his direct running. He will bring the 3 into the game with neat lay offs or shoot himself. He is the only one with height up top so will look to get a power header in on goal and beat the centre backs to the ball, either by going for goal or knocking down for on runners.

Captain - Montolivo
Penalties - Suarez
Set Pieces - Suarez - Adam when he comes on

Subs:-

70 Mins:-

Losing: Pepe, Matri > Dzagoev, Huntelaar - 4-4-2 - Pepe on the right a more direct runner and will look to get the ball in for Matri who will be joined up top by Suarez

Drawing:- Pepe > Dzagoev - A more direct winger, Suarez will go up top with Huntelaar

Winning:- Adam > Dzagoev in a more defensive mid, he will sit deeper alongside the mid 2

80Mins

Losing Canales > Montolivo will play a little higher, Casemiro will sit deep

MALAGA vs Juventus

-------------------------Wiese
---------------Mathijsen--------Gamberini
----Gamez-------------------------------------Monreal
-------------------Toulalan---Maresca
-----------------------------------------------------
--------Cazorla---------------------------Holtby
----------------------------------------------------
-------------------Rondon----Kießling

BENCH
Martinez
Gonzalez
Eliseu
Camacho
Joaquin
Oxlade Chamberlain
Van Nistelrooy

TACTICS
Last time out Juventus had a poor balance to their midfield and we are hoping that's the case again. Toulalan and Maresca are both capable of defending and picking out a pass. We think that their full backs aren't great and that could be a weakness so we should use lots of wing play throughout.

DEFENSE
We should have an organised defensive unit, the full backs aren't particularly attack minded. We should stick as a flat back four and try to contain them rather than flying in with tackles. Their strikers have strength and power but lack pace so we should attempt an offside trap.

MIDFIELD
Toulalan and Maresca are both capable of winning the ball and should pressure their midfield when they have it. When we have possession we should try to work the ball wide. Holtby and Cazorla. Both are capable of using either foot and should give their full backs a torrid time today. Maresca should occasionally get forward to support the attacks as he has a good shot on him and is creative.

ATTACK
Rondon (6'3) and Kießling (6'4.5) are both tall strong strikers and both have height advantages over Carragher (5'11) and Chiellini (6'1) so should win loads of aerial balls. They can play knock-downs or have direct shots at goal, both can score goals.

SET PIECES
Left Corner - Santi Cazorla
Right Corner - Holtby
Free Kicks - Santi Cazorla
Penalties - Maresca
Captain - Gamez - Is the captain IRL and can lead the defense.

SUBSTITUTIONS
If winning then bring on Camacho and Joaquin for Rondon/Kießling and Holtby. Move Cazorla to the left wing and Maresca slightly further forward, the 4-5-1 will give us greater control in the midfield to hold out the game.

If drawing then bring on Oxlade Chamberlain and Van Nistelrooy for Rondon/Kießling and Holtby. Chamberlain's pace will be something different for them to deal with and Van Nistelrooy is capable of scoring a goal.

If losing then bring on Gonzalez and Van Nistelrooy for Gamez and Monreal. Go to 3-4-3 and all out attack.

Lazio v BENFICA

--Krasic-----------César -------Nenê--
----------- Damiao -----Nilmar---------

Subs

Kuyt RW/ST

Captain: Luisão
Injured: Emerson

Team Talk

Last week we played well but 2 goals past us? Come on! I want us to play tighter, support eachother and help eachother out more. If Lazio use the same formation as last week they will be set up similar to us so man mark and stick with your man. Do not give them any space in the middle of park. Their captain and keeper is out this week, that is a massive loss to them. They will be on a high following their win last week, so lets bring them back down to earth with a bang!

Instructions
Keeper & CB's - I want you to watch out for the runs from their attack. Matuzalem will be looking to dictate the play so be alert to the through balls. Close down their attacks quickly and swiftly. Eduardo, be alert during set plays and crosses. They have the ability to get the ball into the box so come out and collect the ball and look to start a quick counter attack. Luisão & Dedé, last week was your first match together but now after that game and a full week of training you have a better understanding of eachother. Be strong in the middle and above all, communication. That is the key.

LB/RB - Emerson is out this week so you get the nod Sílvio. Both of you protect the back line at all times. When you are given the opportunity and space, work with the wingers to get forward to give us more width. I want the ball played to feet, we have the skill and speed up front to outdo any defence.

García - You played a cracking game last week. More of the same this week please. If Matuzalem is playing in the hole like he did last week your job is to stick with him. Close him down quick, get in his face and get the tackles in. Luisão & Dedé will be sat behind you, so when you win the ball play it back to them and get into space to look for the ball back to start an attack or thread it through to César.

Krasic & Nenê - You two have amazing skills and ability. Look to receive the ball from Garcia in the centre and work with the wing backs down the wings. But I also need you to work hard in the midfield, you have to get back to support the wing backs to get us the ball back. Switch wings with eachother to keep Lazio guessing, get into the box to support the attack, we have speed up front, so I want to see it used. Play the ball into the space behind their defence for our attackers to run into.

Damiao & César & Nilmar - Damiao you are class. 39 goals in 47 last season, César, you can score from anywhere and are being billed as the next Kaka. Nilmar, your speed, skill and technical ability is 2nd to none. I want goals and plenty of them! The brazilian dream team is here at Benfica. Play with no fear, we have the back up sat behind you so when you get the chance to take on their defence do it. I want to see good link up play between you and shoot on sight. Their captain is out and their replacement keeper isnt up to it. Get us goals!

Corners - Krasic
Free Kicks - César

Subs if losing or drawing on 65mins:

Cesar off, Kuyt on. Garcia off, Airton on.
Krasic to tuck more inside supporting the attack, Kuyt to play on the wing and get the crosses in and play the ball to Krasic. Garcia has ran his socks off, fresh legs of Airton to come on and boss the midfield supporting the CB's

-----------------Eduardo -------------
Lichtsteiner--Luisão---Dedé---Emerson--
---Kuyt ---------Airton -------Nenê--
----------Krasic---
----------- Damiao -----Nilmar---------

Subs if winning after 75mins

Garcia off, Airton on for fresh legs. Krasic off, Kuyt on. Cesar off, Sidnei on.
Kuyt to come on for Krasic and keep our width. Airton & Sidnei to break down any attack quickly and win us the ball back. Maintain possession.

-----------------Eduardo -------------
Lichtsteiner--Luisão---Dedé---Emerson--
---Kuyt------Airton---Sidnei ---Nenê--

Week 2 – LAZIO v Benfica

Frederico Marchetti
Lionel Scaloni – Agger – Dias – Garrido
Marchisio – Pizzaro – Ledesma
Matuzalem
Klose- Donovan

Subs:

Albano Bizarri
Marius Stankevicius
Luis Pedro Cavanda
Christian Brocchi
Giuseppe Sculli
Djibril Cisse
Tommaso Rocchi

Captain: Claudio Marchisio
Injuries: Alan McGregor, Daniel Schwaab, Gonzalo Barretto, Ruben Amorim

Pre match team talk:
Fantastic win last week guys, we showed real character against a side that has been one of the biggest in the world for quite some time. We passed the ball brilliantly about the midfield last week and we completely over powered Juventus in that position. There is a similar opportunity to do the same this week as they have a very attacking minded winger in Krasic and this is an area we have to exploit. We were tight at the back last week too and I want more of the same, keep everything simple. Claudio is captain today, he is a natural leader and will take over from Alan with ease.

Player Instructions:

GK: Frederico, massive opportunity for you today to prove yourself. Go out there and show me why you should have the #1 shirt and not Alan. Keep your distribution simple, either to the full backs or a central midfield who has dropped deep to pick the ball up.

CB: You did well last week to tame the attacking threat of Juventus. Nilmar is quick so you’ll both have to be on your toes, look to roughen him up a little bit. Damaio has more height about him and I’ll look to you Agger to squash any possible threat.

FB: With Schwaab out we have taken in a similar player in Scaloni. They have two quick wingers in Krasic and Nene whom both are very skilful. I want nothing stupid when in possession, keep it simple and when their wingers have the ball show them down the line or try to make them use their weaker foot to cut out any quality balls in to the box.

Pizzaro: I want you to sit deep this week. We seen last time out what you were capable of with the ball but I want to side a different side of you this week. I want you to be disciplined and protect the back four against any runners coming in from deep. Use your strength to boss the midfield and let them know it is yours.

Marchisio/Ledesma: You both have fantastic passing ability and I want you to show that today. Keep the ball and press with it. Nothing stupid, keep it simple and have the Benfica defence become restless and wait for a gap to appear and play the killer pass to one of our forwards.

Matuzalem/Donovan: I want you two swap roles from time to time. Have the Benfica defence guessing who is going to drop deep and who is going to make the run in behind the defence. They have a very attacking minded winger in Krasic and I want you to exploit the gap that he may leave and use it to put balls into the box or to run at the defence. Two goals last week too Landon so keep it up, show them that you are the best finisher in this league.

Klose: Our main target man is back from injury and set for his debut. I want the ball to be fed into his feet at all times, he can hold up the ball superbly and will allow for the attacking players to get into position. He can drop deep to hold it up too as we have several players capable of scoring from range.

Subs if losing or drawing on 70mins:
Matuzalem for Cisse: Extra pace upfront to exploit the tiring legs of the defence.

Marchisio – Pizarro – Ledesma
Cisse – Klose – Donovan

Subs if winning:
Pizzaro for Brocchi: A little bit more experience in the holding role to see out the game and make sure everything is kept tightly together defensively.
Scaloni for Cavanda: Keeping the legs fresh to allow the defence to keep up with Benfica’s pace.

Gameweek 2 vs Liverpool
Line Up:
--------------------------------Lloris--------------------------------

Beck------------------Cris-------------Koné------------Cissokho
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------Grenier----------Fofana--------Bastos---------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------Gomis------Dempsey-----López----------------

Subs: Vercoutre, Gassama, Lovren, Ederson, Martin, Briand

Captain: Cris, lead by example.
General: Play counter attack. Look to attack down the left and try expose Kelly as the young RB he is. Lopez and Bastos will try to make life difficult for him. If pool fullbacks attack this will be vital for our countre of López & Gomis getting in behind. All in all go out there and enjoy yourselves, let your football do the talking. BOOM

Challenge for all headers and get the tackles in, be strong and tough on him, not too rough as we want to avoid cards and don’t gift him space. With the ball send it to Grenier or Fofana but if under pressure just get rid of it high as you can up the field.

Koné – Man mark the SS if there is one, stay tight on him not letting him turn and challenge him for every ball. If there isn’t a SS then act as sweeper but watch for AM runs. Use your height to win all ariel balls. Get stuck in. With the ball send it out to Bastos or López. If under pressure just get it as high up the pitch and out of harms way.

Beck and Cissokho - Both defend and attack very well. Mark opposition wingers, try block all crosses, keep them wide and don't let them cut inside. Do not go to ground.
Beck – Focus on keeping the opposition winger quiet doing all the above. You can go forward but I don’t want you pushing up too much, don’t overlap today, focus on stopping the crosses and cutting a supply line off.
Cissokho – Mark the opposition winger, stay tight in order to give him less space. I want your main focus on stopping the winger from getting crosses in and trying to cut a supply line off. You have some pace so if you spot a chance on the counter to help Bastos and Lopez out then go for it. But be cautious as I you to remain focused on defending.

Fofana – Midfield general. Want you to get all over the pitch. If there is a AM then keep an eye on him, mark when he gets into an advance position, is there is no SS then zonal mark him as you can leave him for Koné and move onto another target. Protect the back four. Go for headers, get tackles in, own the pitch, make it yours! Attacking wise I want you to distribute the ball, the wide strikers Gomis and Lopez.

Grenier – Playing right centre mid. Help out in mid with tackles and interceptions. Also keep an eye on the opposition fullbacks, if the push forward I want you mark them zonally but more importantly be aware of the space to counter attack. Attacking wise I want you to hang around in the centre of the pitch, help Fofana in distributing the ball and keeping it moving. Watch Gomis and Lopez runs as if they drift wide they can be fed into the channel, Gomis down the line and Lopez a good option to play a cross field ball, change the direction of play and using width. Bastos may also be out wide.

Bastos – Play left centre mid. Help out in mid with tackles and interceptions. Also keep an eye on the opposition fullbacks, if the push forward I want you mark them zonally but more importantly be aware of the space to counter attack. Attcking id like you to support Lopez. He may drift wide or you can. I want to attack Kelly the Pool RB as I feel he could be vulnerable to two experienced players. Get some crosses in but id like you to use quick, on the deck link up play to breakk through and create chances. If in shooting range do so.

López & Gomis – playing the wide strikers. Id like you to help chase the ball down put pressure on the Pool back line, force errors. As you plaing inbetween the CB and FB im hoping you can get in behind, if the fullback attack then its your chance to get in and through on goal. If drift out wide the opposite attack the back post, Dempsey will always stay central. Shoot on site unless someone is unmarked with an open shot.

Dempsey – Bit of a free role in the central area. Come deep at time and lure the CB out with you giving López & Gomis more room to get in beind. Attack through the middle. Look to get your head on crosses and go for through balls.

GAME WEEK 3

LIVERPOOL v lazio

- - - - - - - Akinfeev - - - - - - -
Silvestri - Bonucci - - Rami - Enrique
- - - - Mvila - - - -
- - - Montolivo - - C.Adam - - -
L.Suarez - - - - - - - - - - Downing
- - - - - - - Huntelaar - - - - - - -

Jones, Zanka, Kelly, Casemiro, Dzagoev, Canales, Morata

In goal is the experienced Akinfeev, he is a commanding keeper and very vocal to keep the defense right. If he sees any strays he will shout at the defense to get them on to them quickly. Good in the air will look to catch the crosses coming in, if not a good strong hand to punch clear. He will also look to get the wide men going quickly with long throws/kicks.
Bonucci leads the line and will keep the defense together. Rami picks up the main striker and marks him very closely, a good hard thump early to let him know he is there, a fair thump mind you..Bonucci will watch the 2nd striker if they play two up front, not mark him just watch for him making runs and he will go to intercept it. If they dont play 2 then he will just watch for spaces they try to make and again he will intercept there movements.
Silvestri and Enrique will attack the flanks. One at a time, dont want to leave the defense exposed. Combine with the wide men to get beyond the fullbacks and get the ball in for Huntelaar, they if the formations go by dont play wide men so there could be alot of room for them to expose. Defending the 4 will stick together and keep firm, not allow any gaps to appear, keep tight on the players they are marking. Silvestri/Enrique will keep whoever gets down the wing to the outside and stop the crosses coming in.
Mvila's job ios simple, sit in front of the defense and stop the playmaker dictating play. Be onto him quiickly and break the play up. Do this and it stops them creating chances.
Once he hsa broken play up Adam and Montolivo are there to get it forward. Adam has great vision and will look to get players in on goal quickly, Montolivo is the driving force ande he will pick the ball uop and move forward looking for Suarez/Huntelaar to set them up, he can quite easily have a go from distance as will Adam so the two will be a big threat. Defneding they will sit either side of Mvila and stop them coming through.
Suarez will look to cut inside and use Silvestri as much as he can, wghen Silvestri picks up Suarez will move to the box looking for the return ball from wide, he canm go down the flank, and will do so when Silvestri isnt up with him. He will also look to Montolivo when Silvestri isnt there to quick pass and move forward looking for the through ball from Monty. Downing is more direct and will look to take his man on down the left and cross in for Huntelaar/Suarez, plenty skill so will look to tease the RB into challenges and either win freekicks or break free when the misses. Both will follow there FB's when they get forward and stop them getting into dangerous positions.
Huntelaar the main man up front. I want him to stay up front ALL the time, he doesnt have to get back. However, they will put someone on him, if this is the case then take him away to free up space for the likes of Suarez to drift into. Lay the ball off to those behind with neat passes/flick ons/knock downs..If he is going for goal himself then he will look to use his strength and height ot outmuscle the CB's he will win his share in the box. Or if he wants go for the goal himslef, he has a great record and whether by head or foot, so balls from out wide or through balls from the two middle men, if he is in space then theres a good chance it will be on target.

Captain - Bonucci
Penalties - Suarez
Set Pieces - Adam

Subs:-
70 Mins:-
Losing: - Dzagoev > Montolivo - He will go wide right and Suarez up front in a 4-4-2
Winning - Casemiro> Montolivo - He will sit alongside Mvila as we look to hold the lead
Drawing - Canales > Downing - Straight swap but he will cut inside more

80 Mins:-
Losing:- Canales > Downing - Straight swap new threat
Winning - Kelly > Silvestri - He will be told to sit tight and not get forward
Drawing - Dzagoev > Montolivo > Dzagoev - right, Suarez up front 4-4-2

85 Mins:-
Losing - Morata > Adam - 4-3-3

Dzagoev-Mvila-Canales - the mid trio
Suarez-Huntelaar-Morata up front

Game week 3: JUVENTUS vs Lyon

---------------------------------------------------Buffon----------------------------------------

-----------------------------------Cheillini---------------------Barzaghli----------------

----------------Zauri------------------------------------------------------------Grosso-----

---------------------------------------------Pirlo-------------------------------------

---------------Taddei--------------------------------------------------------Maxi

--------------------------------------------Kallstrom-----------------------------

--------------------------Iaquinta------------------------------Toni

Team news: Grosso makes first start of season after injury. Zauri, and Kallstrom make their debuts for Juventus, with Fucile out due to injury.

Captain: Chiellini
Subs: Adler (GK), Carragher,Deceglie,Arshavin.Dos santos,Amauri,Behrami

Goalkeeper: Buffon: solid at the back, inspires confidence throughout the side.

Defence: Both full backs changed this week, fucile missing through injury, so zauri comes in for debut, whilst grosso makes first start of the season, after recvoering from injury.

Midfeild: Kallstrom comes into the side for his first start, with the out of form arshvin dropped to the bench. Have stuck with a midfield diamond, but it has more of a solid look to it, with both pirlo, and Kallstrom looking to boss the centre of the pitch. Again Taddei and Maxi on the wings, but both look to come in-field, with maxi firing in shots from range.

Strikers: Iaquinta and Toni, again make up the forward pairing. Toni very strong in the air, will look to hold the ball up, for iaquinta to look to move with the ball on the floor. Both will be looking for the crosses to come into the box, to use their heads effectively in the air.

45mins: Behrami on for Taddei
75mins: Dos santos on for Maxi
80mins: Amauri on for Toni

Subs
Artur GK
Sidnei CB

Injuries - Mika, Dirk Kuyt

Team talk
Brilliant result last week lads, more of the same this week please. Its our first home game so we are starting with an attacking formation. Last week Malaga played with 2 holding midfielders, so we are going to press them back into their own half and try push their wingers back with our pressure also. I want to see quick swift passing from everyone and play to a high tempo.

Specifics
Eduardo - 4 goals against us in 2 games. I need a massive improvement from you this week. Rondon & Kießling are tall players so im expecting them to play the ball down the wings and get plenty crosses in to play to their height. Intercept the ball. Try to catch the ball in the first instance, but if in doubt punch it clear, dont take any chances. Look to the wings for goal kicks as the midfield will be packed.

Luisão & Dedé - Stay tight to their two attackers. Use strength to out-muscle when challenging for the ball in the air. Be alert for set pieces and corners. Look to start a quick counter attack by feeding the ball to Lichtsteiner or Emerson to go down the wings.

Lichtsteiner & Emerson - You have in important role today. Malaga will try to use the wings as much as possible, make sure you stop any crosses. Get close to them and dont give an inch of space. When pushing forward look to play the ball to feet rather than cross it as we will playing with a high tempo, so keeping possession is a must.

García - Instead of sitting just in front of the back four, I need you to push up a bit more. Close them down quickly and swiftly and spread the play to the wings. Nolito will be dropping back to help you out when we looking to attack so look for him in space.

Krasic & Nenê - I need you to help out our wing backs and double up on their wingers when they are in our half. Look for space to run into ahead of their wingers to receive the ball. There is no need to rush to cross the ball, there will be support for you so pass to feet. Krasic, when Nenê is on the wing with the ball, come inside the pitch just behind the front three. If you get the chance to shoot from outside the box, shoot. Krasic, you are taking the free kicks and corners.

Damiao & Nolito & Nilmar - Nolito, you get the nod this week to play up top in a front three, but I need you to drop back from time to time in space when García has the ball looking to receive it. Put pressure on their back four with smart runs behind them. Look to play 1-2's with eachother and when you work an opening shoot on site. Dont let the back four pass the ball to each other, close them down to hopefully work them into a mistake to give us the ball back.

Subs if winning at 70mins
Nene off, César on. Nolito off, Verretti on:
-----------------Eduardo -------------
Lichtsteiner--Luisão---Dedé---Emerson--
------------------García--------------
--Krasic----------Verretti -----César --
-----------Damiao-------Nilmar---------
Cesar to keep our width and work the wing with Emerson. Watch their runners and stick with your man.
García to move back and sit in front of the back four, Verretti just ahead of him looking to spread the play to the wings and join in attacks.

Sub if still winning after 80 mins
Damiao off and Airton on.
-----------------Eduardo -------------
Lichtsteiner--Luisão---Dedé---Emerson--
----------García--------Airton -----------
--Krasic---------Verretti -----César --
-----------------Nilmar---------
Airton to join García in front of the back four and break down any attacks.

Subs if losing or drawing on 70mins
Nene off, César on.
-----------------Eduardo -------------
Lichtsteiner--Luisão---Dedé---Emerson--
------------------García--------------
--Krasic------------------------César --
--------Damiao---Nolito----Nilmar---------
Cesar to work the wing and link up play with Nilmar. Look to come inside with the ball and shoot from distance. Test their keeper and if he spills, Nolito and Damiao look to capitalise. Lichtsteiner to stay back, and Krasic to push forward alongside Damiao.

MALAGA vs Benfica

---------------------Wiese
-----------Mathijsen------Gamberini
---Gamez-----------------------------Eliseu
-------------------Toulalan
-------------Matic--------Maresca
-----Holtby-------------------------Cazorla
---------------------Kießling

BENCH
Caballero
Gonzalez
Stadsgaard
Camacho
Chamberlain
Edinho
Van Nistelrooy

TACTICS
Today we should try to dominate possession with cautious build up play. We should keep things simple and get men behind the ball. We have played Cazorla and Holtby on the 'wrong wings' today. They can both cut inside onto their stronger foot and take shots with the full backs driving forward.

DEFENSE
We should play with a flat back four today, their main threats going forward are Krasic and Nilmar. We should keep an extra eye on them and quickly close them down when they get the ball as they can cause problems. Gamberini and Mathijsen are both good strong defenders who are experienced and should use both of those, to try and outmuscle the forwards and predict their next move. The full backs should be aggressive going forward today, pegging back their wingers.

MIDFIELD
We need to control the middle of the park. Toulalan should play in a deep role marking the AM/second striker. Matic and Maresca should play in box to box roles and try to break forward as well as helping out with defensive duties. Maresca should be slightly deeper but Matic is a livewire, young and full of energy to get into the box. Since joining Benfica his form has been very good. We can get the ball wide to our talented wingers who will dribble at the full backs. Cazorla particularly is two footed so should use that to his advantage. If things aren't working the wingers can switch places, they are free in their roles. Leichsteiner likes to get forward so there could be a counter attacking opportunity down the left wing.

ATTACK
Kießling is a good goalscorer and good in the air. He should try to hold up the ball to get the midfielders into the game. He is our target man. He should win headers and be clinical in front of goal.

SET PIECES
Left Corner - Cazorla
Right Corner - Matic
Free Kicks - Cazorla
Penalties - Maresca
Captain - Gamez

SUBSTITUTIONS
If winning then bring on Camacho for Maresca to freshen up the midfield.

If drawing then bring on Oxlade Chamberlain and Van Nistelrooy for Holtby and Kießling. Change things up to try to change the game in our favour.

If losing then bring on Van Nistelrooy for Matic. Attack more in a 4-4-2.

Mark opposition wingers. Do not go to ground. Previous weeks have seen Juventus wingers being told to cut inside, keep them wide and do your best to prevent crosses coming in.

Beck – Focus on keeping the opposition winger quiet doing all the above. The way the midfield is set up I want you to stay back as we have enough threat up top, you can push to around halfway line just to support Frei but don’t get making any runs to the touchline. No crosses from deep, play the ball to Frei or inside to Martin or Dempsey. Cross field ball to Bastos will help change the direction of play and use of width to stretch Juventus.

Cissokho – Focus on keeping the opposition winger quiet doing all the above. I don’t mind you pushing up to support Bastos, I will allow you to overlap Bastos but don’t do it regularly. Fofana will cover is we lose possession but you have the pace to get back in position so Fofana can and we can resume our defensive shape. López isn’t the tallest so don’t bother crossing from deep, instead try play Bastos down the flank or send inside to Dempsey or Martin. Look for the cross field ball to Frei as I want to use the width we have.

Fofana – Midfield general. Want you to get all over the pitch. If there is a AM then keep an eye on him, mark when he gets into an advance position. Protect the back four. Go for headers, get tackles in, own the pitch, make it yours! Also be aware if Cissokho has pushed forward and we lose the ball you are ready to cover until he gets back. Beck won’t be attacking to no need to cover RB spot. Attacking wise I want you to keep the passes short with many of them. Martin & Dempsey are in front of you.

Fofana, Martin & Dempsey - Quick short passes will help to keep possession and the ball moving keeping the opposition guessing, while doing this in a triangle like shape Frei, Bastos and Lopez will be making moves so I’d expect any three of you ready to pick a pass to any one of them, ball into the channel of even through for Lopez.

Martin – Making your debut and at home. I want you to assist in midfield duties of closing down, tackling, intercepting etc. I want you to use you creative ability to break down the Juventus back line and feed Frei, Bastos into channels and Lopez through on goal. Hang around in the centre of the pitch and dictate the pace and direction of play. Don’t hesitate to switch the ball from flank to flank, I want to use the width and stretch Juventus.

Dempsey – I want you to assist in midfield duties of closing down, tackling, intercepting etc. Assist Martin in controlling the tempo and distribution of the ball. I want you to wander around the pitch more than Martin who will be central. Consider it the licence to drift from left to right giving you the chance to go with the ball and demand more of the ball, show me and the fans you want it and with is use it. I want you to also link up with Lopez attempting quick one touch passing, one-two’s etc to break through the back line. When the balls wide get in the box looking to get on the end of crosses, you have a good heading ability so I want you to use this, go for goal or flick on.

Martin & Dempsey – Every so often you can swap roles just to mix things up. If doing Dempsey will distribute which will allow Martin to roam and put his creative side on further show. Crosses will come in low as Martin isn’t so tall.

Frei – Track back and help out the fullback when needed, doubling up on the opposition winger or if the opposition fullbacks push forward track and attempt to tackle them. Keep wide in order to keep width. Take the LB and get some crosses in from deep or touchline aimed for Dempsey running on or low for Lopez or Martin. Beck will be staying back but he will come up to support you so try not to cut in, work the flank and use Beck but more so use Martin and Dempsey. Crosses coming in attack the back post.

Bastos – Track back and help out the fullback when needed, doubling up on the opposition winger or if the opposition fullbacks push forward track and attempt to tackle them. Keep wide in order to keep width, work the flank and get some crosses in the box, keep them low for Lopez or Martin but if Dempsey is coming in get them off the ground. I’m happy for you to cut inside and play off Lopez with the aim to be through on goal. Cissokho will be overlapping sometimes so that will put the RB on the back foot and give you option out wide or cut in and go on a run. Incoming crosses attack the back post.

López – Out and out striker today. Play off the shoulder. Put some pressure on oppositions CB’s to force errors. Make forward runs and look for through balls. Crosses have been instructed to be low for you and in the air for Dempsey so be on your toes for flick on’s. Also always follow up any shots on goal in case Buffon spills, its doubtful but always worth it when it happens. Dempsey will support you when attacking, play with him and work together with quick one touch passing and one-two’s. When Martin is supporting once again both of you are small and agile players to quick passing and movement should see us get a break through. If through on goal chance your finish each time to stay unpredictable, preferably round Buffon and pass into open net to guarantee a goal we need.

Subs:
Any score, 78th min Grenier on for Dempsey. Like for like job.
Any score 82nd min Gomis for Lopez, fresh legs with some pace to get through on goal. Play same role.

Corners: Martin

Week 3
Liverpool v LAZIO
Injuries: Andre Dias, Miroslav Klose, David Pizzaro, Stefano Mauri

Alan McGregor
Daniel Schwaab – Daniel Agger - Marius Stankevicius – Javier Garrido
Alvaro Gonzalez – Christian Ledesma – Claudio Marcishio – Giuseppe Sculli
Landon Donovan – Tommaso Rocchi

Subs:

Marchetti
Diakhite
Cavanda
Brocchi
Del Nero
Cisse
Emmanuel

Team Talk:
Last week, we were not tactically prepared for the attacking threat of Benfica so we have needed a change of set up. We will go for a flat 4-4-2. I want everyone to work their socks off today and be defensively sound. Liverpool are strong going forward but I believe the physical power of our back four will be able to ruffle the feathers of Suarez, Montolivo & Huntelaar. We need to bounce back this week and I want a much better all round performance. Go out there and show Liverpool we are no pushovers.

Specific Player Instructions:

GK: McGregor back in goal today so a much steadier pair of hands in goals. I want him to keep a new centre back pairing in cohorts by using his typically good vocal skills.

RB/LB: I do not want you to push forward at all this week. When in possession, look to knock the ball wide to our wingers and keep a tidy back line. The tackles are to be hard and I want you to get in the face of Suarez and Downing, show them who is boss and that their fancy flicks and tricks aren’t going to be tolerated.

CB: I want Agger to mark Huntelaar out of the game. Use your physical strength to show him that you are there and look to attack the ball at every opportunity. Marius is to be in a more sweeper position and he will look to pick out any loose balls and watch the runs of players from deep.

RW/LW: These two are old fashioned wingers and will be hugging the touchline the whole game. Look to exploit their full backs as there will be there very little tracking back from Suarez & Downing. Run at them with the ball, look to have them on the back foot all game.

CM: Marchisio will look to dictate the play from central midfield. They have two talented players in Adam and Montolivo but I want you to prove you are better than both. Pick their backline apart with your fantastic passing ability and look for the runs of our wingers & strikers.

Ledesma will look to pick up the runs of Adam & Montolivo. He’ll give Marchisio more creative freedom but will look to bomb forward when gaps are present and shot when possible.

ST: Donovan, another great performance against Benfica last week. Your runs are allowing for large amounts of space to be created and I want the same from you today. They have a slow back line so look to exploit and feed of the balls played in from Marchisio, Gonzalez & Sculli.

Rocchi, an opportunity to show you are worthy to be back in the team. I want you take over the role Klose played and look to get on the end of loose balls. Stand on the toes of the last man and look to meet crosses from out wide.

Subs:-
Winning
70 minutes; Ledesma for Brocchi. Look to see the game out and have Brocchi protect the backline.
80 minutes; Stankevicius for Diakhite. Fresh legs at the back again to keep up with the movement and pace of Suarez & Huntelaar.

Losing:-
70 minutes;

Gonzalez for Brocchi.
&
Cisse for Sculli.
Change formation to 4-3-3 and throw the preverbal kitchen sink at the opposition.

Niko's Fast & Furious League: Tactics Submission Empty Re: Niko's Fast & Furious League: Tactics Submission

juventus v LIVERPOOL

- - - - - - - McCarthy - - - - - - -
Kelly - Bonucci - - Rami - Enrique
- - - - Mvila - - - -
- - - Montolivo - C.Adam - - -
L.Suarez - - - - - - - - Downing
- - - - - - - Huntelaar - - - - - - -

Jones, Zanka, Casemiro, Dzagoev, Arshavin, Matri, Morata

Injuries:- Akinfeev, De Silvestri, Sam

In goal is McCarthy, did well last time he was called upon so will be more confident, he has good ability and a strong defense in front of him. He is good in the air and will try to catch most high ball, if not he will get a strong hand to it to punch clear. He will look to dominate his area and be quick onto balls into the box. Will try and release the wingers early.

Kelly at RB will be on defensive duty, he will sit back and let Enrique do the attacking, he does get forward but very rarely. I want him to stick to his man and not allow him any space to cut inside and be through on goal. Cut him off as soon as he can and be strong in the tackle and not dive in. He will make a 3rd CB when we attack.

Enrique at LB will defend strongly like Kelly but will be allowed to attack at will, Kelly will sit in so Enrique can get forward to support Downing, he will pass and move passed him to seek the return ball and fire in some crosses or if Downing goes alone he can cut in and make an extra man in the middle.

Rami and Bonucci at CB will be strong and dominate. Rami will pick up the main striker and stick to him like glue. Follow him around and stop him turning and getting in on goal. Get in hard early to let the lad know he is in for a tough game. Bonucci will watch the withdrawn striker if they play one, he doesnt have to mark him just watch for his runs and cut him off early. If only one up front then he will watch the open spaces and try to intercept the through balls or keep an eye out for midfielders coming through. Bonucci is the leader of the team and will keep the back 5 tight.

M'Vila will be at DM again. Again his job is simple, mark the midfield dangerman of Juventus. Stop him dictating play, do this and it stops there threat and they wont get balls upto the striker(s). Get in hard but fair so the lad is wary of holding onto the ball too long. He will just sit in front of the defense and let the other lot get forward.

Charlie Adam is my playmaker, whether its from deep or a more advanced role he will pick out holes in their defense and send the forwards away and in on goal, his vision is fantastic and his ability to pick a pass is outstanding. He will look to Montolivo making runs or send it out wide to the wingers. Huntelaar will also be waiting up front for any through ball or dinks over the top. He will take any free kicks in a dangerous position.

Montolivo will get forward more than Adam and look to get into spaces with the runs he makes. He, like Adam has great vision for a pass and will look to pass and move forward, making runs into the box, mostly looking for Suarez cutting inside who hopefully will take defenders with him, Montolivo will be charging into the box unnoticed and be a big threat.

Both Adam and Montolivo when we dont have the ball will sit alongside Mvila in a defensive role and stop there midfield coming through.

Suarez on the right is more in a 'free' role as he likes to cut inside alot using his skill andpace to get passed fullbacks and into the box, he will do this when he can and look for Montolivo or Huntelaar for one-twos and quick passing to creat the space he needs to shoot. . He will also be waiting to make late breaks when Adam has the ball looking to Huntelaar for knock downs so he can get a shot off.

Downing on the left is more direct than Suarez, he will go down the flank looking to get to the bye line to get the crosses in for Huntelaar etc, more often than not he will get passed the RB with the help of Enrique. As he will look to him for support. By either passing to him and making quick runs passed the RB into space or watching Enrique go passed him and setting him free as the FB will mark Downing this will make room for Enrique to get into space.

Both wingers will watch for the full backs getting forward and will track back when nessesary.

Huntelaar is the main man up front, scoring the goals for us and is confident of getting more. he will sit up front for the entirity that he is on, there is no need for him to get back. As he will be up front he will be looking for the balls into the box from Downing,Enrique or Adam and look to get into space to get a strong head on. If he cant go for goal then it will be knock downs for those supporting him, He will also look to create spaces for Montolivo and Suarez to run into by taking defenders away with him. Dont allow yourself to be man marked and move around as much as possible. This will make holes in there defense, and make room for others.

Look to pass our way round Juventus they are low on confidence whereas we are on a high

Captain - Bonucci
penalties - Suarez
free kicks - Adam

Subs:-

Losing:-

65 Mins - Dzagoev > Montolivo - more energy in the middle with a bigger goal threat

75 Mins - Matri > Downing 4-3-1-2 Suarez is the '1' and Matri will play alongside Huntelaar

Winning:-

70 Mins - Casemiro > Montolivo he will go into a more defesive role alongside M'Vila

80 Mins - Matri > Huntelaar - will take on theloan striker role and look to keep the ball in their half.

Drawing:-

70 Mins - Dzagoev > Montolivo - again more goal threat and quicker legs

80 Mins - Suarez up front, Dzagoev out right and Matri > Huntelaar 4-4-2

Captain: Chellini
Injuries: Raul,Toni,Pirlo
Subs: Adler,Deceglie,Carragher,Behrami,Taddei,Saviola

Different shape for the side this week, awful start to the season, and we need to stop leaking goals, so gone for a defensive formation, to see if we can keep our shape

Team news: With Pirlo out injured, Spearing comes in, pepe in for taddei, and pazienza starts for the first time this season.

Goalkeeper: Buffon: need you to be solid this week. Command your box and make sure there's no silly business, just clear it if you have to.

Defence: Fucile and Grosso. Get forward on occasions, but dont take too many risks, cant afford to keep leaking goals, and big pressure on you.
Chiellini and barzaghli. Guys you need to step up, your better than what you have shown so far, and we have a solid defecne and we need to prove that

Midfield: Flat 5 men in midfield, try and boss the midddle of the park. Pepe, and Maxi offer the pace on the wings, and need to try and get balls into the box. Spearing, pazienza, get some tough tackles in guys, no regrets out there. Kallstrom, the one most liklely to get forward and support iaquinta, but on the whole stay in the middle, and look to boss the game from there.

Striker: Iaquinta, up front on your own this week. Hold the ball up, and play it out to the wings, or hold it up for Kallstrom and set him up. Get into the box and expect the crosses from the wings. need some goals from ya this week...

Week 4
Benfica v Lyon

--Krasic-----Airton-----García---César---

------------Damiao------Nilmar---------

Subs:
Artur GK
Sidnei CB
Sílvio LB/RB
Lulic CM/LW
Nenê LW
Kuyt RW/ST
Oliveira ST

Injuries: Enzo Pérez, Nolito, Marco Verretti

Team Talk:
Good result last week lads, but we have a tricky tie this week with Lyon so we are starting with a 4-4-2 to give us the shape to cancel out their midfield players. We will be looking to mix it up in the 2nd half, so be alert to your positions and do not give them any space. We have good width, so use it. I want to see crisp, clean passing thus maintaining possession. Be strong at the back, do not take any chances. Mark you man and stick with him.

Specifics
Eduardo - I need you to control your area and be a commanding figure. We kept a clean sheet last week so lets continue that. Watch out for any long range shots and be alert on crosses, corners and set pieces. If their strikers beat our offside trap close them down quickly and make yourself large in front of goal. Look to start quick counter attacks, but do not be wasteful with the ball, pass it to someone in space.

Luisão & Dedé - If they are playing one up front, Luisão you are marking him with Dede providing the back up. If they are two up front man mark them closely, do not give an inch of space. Be powerful in the air and when they have the ball on the floor. Keep a good line for offside traps. When in possession do not rush any silly long balls up front, work it across the back four and look to play it down the wings from there.

Lichtsteiner & Emerson - With 4 in midfield I dont need you to push up too much. Keep it tight on the wing and stop any crosses. Link up with Krasic & César to get the ball down the wings. If we are in possession and we have the space, run into it and over lap with the wingers, but your main job is to defend today and keep a good line.

Airton & García - Control the midfield and break down any attacks quickly. When one of you pushes up with an attack, the other stays. Help out our CB's with support play. Look for the space to receive the ball from the CB's and dictate the play going forward. Spread the ball to the wings and look for the runs of our front two.

Krasic & César - Help out the wingbacks when we dont have possession. I dont want to see you hovering above the half way line, get back and help out. Krasic, cut inside when you get the chance to link up with Damiao, like wise César with Nilmar. When our CM's have the ball look to get into space quickly so we can use pace against their back line. Krasic, you are on free kick duty again.

Damiao & Nilmar - You will have the support from Krasic & Cesar going forward so look to receive the ball. Try to turn your marker and run onto their goal. Look to make runs behind their defence when our CM's have the ball and are pushing forward. When their defence has the ball, keep the pressure on them. Track back to help out our midfield to give us possession back. When in space shoot on site and test their keeper.

Sub on 65 mins if losing or drawing
Airton off, Kuyt on. Cesar off, Nene on.
-----------------Eduardo -------------

Lichtsteiner--Luisão---Dedé---Emerson--

---Kuyt---------García--------Nenê ---

-----------------Krasic----------------

-----------Damiao------Nilmar---------
Garcia to hold it tight in front of the CB's. Kuyt & Nene fresh legs. Krasic freed up to support the front two.

Sub if winning on 70 mins
Cesar off, Nene on for fresh legs.
-----------------Eduardo -------------

Lichtsteiner--Luisão---Dedé---Emerson--

--Krasic-----Airton-----García---Nene ---

------------Damiao------Nilmar---------

Sub if still winning on 80 mins
Damiao off, Kuyt on.
-----------------Eduardo -------------

Lichtsteiner--Luisão---Dedé---Emerson--

--Krasic-----Airton-----García---Nene ---

------------Kuyt ------Nilmar---------
Keeping the same shape, Kuyt to keep pressure on their deffence, Krasic & Nene stay on the half way line breaking down any counter attacks down the wings.

Gameweek 4 vs Benfica
Line Up:
--------------------------------Lloris--------------------------------

Réveillère-------------Cris------------Koné------------Cissokho

----------------------Gonalons--------Fofana----------------------

Frei---------------------------Martin-------------------------Bastos

-------------------------------------López

Subs: Vercoutre, Lovren, Ederson, Grenier. Kranjcar, Gomis, Briand

Injuries - Andreas Beck, Sidy Koné, Lamine Gassama

Captain: Cris, lead by example.

General: Deploying 2 DM’s today as Benfica are doing well and away from home I want to stifle their play are take a point or even all three. Play counter attack. They have good wingers which we need to stop, cut the supply to the striker and we are half way there.

Lloris: Command the area, communicate with defence at all times. Keep punching to a minimal, catch as much as you can within reason/if possible. If you see a free player to break with throw the ball out to them quick to launch a counter attack.

With the ball if under pressure just get rid, if you have time play it out to a DM or out to the wing.

Koné – Man mark the SS if there is one, stay tight on him not letting him turn and challenge him for every ball. If there isn’t act as sweeper. Use your height to win all ariel balls. Get stuck in. With the ball if under pressure just get rid, if you have time play it out to a DM or out to the wing.

Réveillère and Cissokho - Both defend and attack very well. Mark opposition wingers. Do not go to ground. Benfica have good winger and we need to stop them suppling the strikers.

Réveillère – Focus on keeping the opposition winger quiet doing all the above. I don’t want you attacking at all today. Just keep their winger out wide and isolated. Don’t let him cut in, stay on his tight in order to intercept passes to him. You are experienced so use it. Supply Frei down the flank or look for Gonalons, Martin with the ball.

Cissokho – Focus on keeping the opposition winger quiet doing all the above. Want you to stay tight on the winger, your pace should allow you to get the better of him. Keep him out wide and isolated. Don’t let him cut in and come into play. With the ball support Bastos down the flank. Don’t overlap today. If we are 0-0 with 60 minutes gone then start to push up a bit more which will allow Bastos more freedom. Cross from deep if in position in 2nd half. Don’t expect you to in the 1st half.

Fofana & Gonalons – control the direction of play today. Get stuck in and dictate the pace of the game. If we control this we can get a result.

Fofana – Midfield general. Want you to get all over the pitch. If there is a AM then keep an eye on him, mark when he gets into an advance position. Protect the back four. Go for headers, get tackles in, own the pitch, make it yours! Gonalons is partnering you today so you are able to cover Cissokho is he is out of position.

Gonalons – Join Fofana in midfield today in order to control the middle of the pitch. I think if we can control this area we can get something out the match. Get the tackles in, not too hard to start but in the 2nd half get more physical. Both don’t push to far up field, just supply the forward players.

Martin – You are higher up the pitch today. Want you to help in midfield with tackling and interceptions. Support Lopez today, try through balls, one-twos and link up with him to get a break through. Dribble with the ball and go on run, drag the opposition players into you which will open room for others. Shoot from distance if a good chance appears.

Frei – Track back and help out the fullback when needed, doubling up on the opposition winger or if the opposition fullbacks push forward track and attempt to tackle them. Keep wide in order to keep width. Work the flank and get the crosses in. Crosses coming in attack the back post. If in a shooting position take it, we want to work their keeper.

Bastos – Track back and help out the fullback when needed, doubling up on the opposition winger or if the opposition fullbacks push forward track and attempt to tackle them. Keep wide in order to keep width, work the flank and get some crosses in the box, keep them low for Lopez or Martin. 2nd half if Cissokho starts to push up and support you more than feel free to come inside more and link up with Lopez more. Shoot fro distance.

López – Out and out striker today. Play off the shoulder. Put some pressure on oppositions CB’s to force errors. Make forward runs and look for through balls. Crosses have been instructed to be low for you. Also always follow up any shots on goal in case of spills. Martin is supporting and is in a more advanced position today so he will feed you through. Work on linking up with him and breaking down the Benfica back line with quick passes. Shot on sight inside the box.

Subs:
Any score, 78th min Grenier on for Martin. Like for like job.
Any score 82nd min Gomis for Lopez, fresh legs with some pace to get through on goal. Play same role.

Corners: Martin
Free Kick
Right Bastos

Malaga vs LAZIO

Formation - 4-5-1

----------------Marchetti-------------
Schwaab---Agger---Dias---Garrido
---------------Ledesma---------------
--------Pizarro------Marchisio------
Mauri---------------------------Sculli
-----------------Klose-----------------

Subs: McGregor, Stankevicius, Brocchi, Matuzalem, Cisse, Kozak, Amorim

Malaga have a solid midfield line-up and it will be our job to take control and keep possesion as best we can away from home and limit chances for Malaga's strikers. We will be patient in attack and build play slowly and intelligently with our midfield three.

Goalkeeper

Marchetti is starting tonight and I expect him to be alert and aware of shots from distance as our defence and midield looks to keep Malaga getting clear cut chances.

Defence

Schwaab & Garrido

Both will be expected to hold position and anticipate Malaga getting it wide to provide service to the front men. Attacking will be sporadic, but should a quick counter attacking chance present itself, they will take it.

Dias & Agger

If Malaga play with two men up front they will be expected to shadow them
and nick the ball away in the air or on the ground. If one man is upfront Dias will mark him and Agger will sweep up loose balls and watch for the midfielders breaking in to the box.

Midfield

Ledesma will keep things simple and shield the centre halves and frustrate any attempts to play it through. On the ball he will distribute to Pizarro or
Marchisio to take an attack forward. If the chance to spread play wide with a long pass presents itself he will take it.

Marchisio will keep busy in attack and defence and look to win the ball and begin attacks.

Pizarro will dictate the passing in the midfield and patiently probe until the best option presents itself.

Forwards

Mauri will look to keep wide and get balls in to the box where he can to get
Klose and Sculli on the end of them. He will track back with the full back to prevent quick counter attacks as best as he can.

Sculli will look to get in to the box where possible and get on the end of crosses and support Klose. He will offer an option wide on the left when attacks come down that side, but his intention will be to cause trouble in the box from the wing.

Klose will look to get in the box and get on the end of Mauri's crosses. When play is focused through the centre he will come short and link with the CM's and allow Sculli to get beyond him before he attacks from deep. Shooting from distance is encouraged where he gets a yard or two.

Corners will be taken by Pizarro and look to go far post where Klose will be coming in.

Penalties from Klose, because he's German and will never miss.

Free kicks taken by Pizarro who will look to shoot when in range.

Subs: @65mins

If behind have Cisse for Sculli and Donovan for Marchisio reverting to 4-3-1-2 with Donovan playing off Cisse/Klose.

If winning, Brocchi and Amorim on for Marchisio and Pizarro to keep the midfield fresh and hard working, limiting shots.

A new manager taking on a new manager this week, so a journey into the unknown. With injuries to the exciting Lewis Holtby and defensive midfield rock Camacho we will have to make sure that those coming in step up to the plate

GK:Tim Wiese, experienced German goaly who will clearly communicate with the dutch international Mathijsen in ordering the back line.

Def.
Gone for a solid look to the back 4, my two more defensive full backs who can negate the attacking prowess of the Lazio wingers but still get forward in an attempt to get some good service into the front men.

Mathijsen and Gamberini look to provide youth and experience to a strong back line. Gamberini should not be afraid to play the ball out into midfield when given the opportunity with only Lazio only having one striker.

Midfield.
Lazio have creativity in midfield so we will have Toulalan and Maresca sitting but Maresca should be afraid to step out of that role and help put pressure on the Lazio defensive midfield and back four.

Oxlade-Chamberlain and Eliseu will be given the task to get the ball into the box for the impressive Kiessling. Can also swap wings and cut in side something which will be analysed every 15mins in the second half depending on the result.

Santi Cazorla will be given the task to play between the lines, supplying the wide men with balls in behind the defence and slide rule passes for Kiessling.

Attack:
When the ball is with Cazorla, Kiessling will look to get in behind the defenders playing right on the back line hoping for a through ball from a player of undeniable quality.

When the ball is wide he will look to attack the near post for balls put into the danger zone. The opposite winger will move into the centre of the area to collect any balls sent deeper or attack any flick ons from the striker.

If a winger is found out of position left upfront, the CDM will pull to that side and Cazorla will plug the gap left in the centre.

Captain will be Jeremy Toulalan who will marshall from the centre of the field.

Subs - Van Nistelrooy will come on either way.

If we are losing, the wingers will swap wings and Enzo Maresca will be sacrifised. Van Nistelrooy will be sent upfront with Cazorla applying more of a defensive mindset.

If this tactic earns us the draw/win then Oxlade will be removed sending Cazorla out right and Marrone wll tighten things up in the middle.

If we are winning - Van Nistelrooy will come on as a lone striker. He will be tasked with holding the ball and spreading into wide areas for the pacey wide men to stretch an attacking Lazio side and hopefully catch another goal on the break.

Cazorla will be removed and Marrone will go centre, with Maresca given the withdrawn striker role.

JUVENTUS TACTICS vs benfica

--------------------------------------------------Adler--------------------------------------

----Zauri----------------------Lugano------------------------Cris-------------Grosso---

Pepe---------------Mountinho------------------Veloso------------Pazienza-----Maxi-

----------------------------------------------------Iaquinta---------------------------

Captain: Diego Lugano
Injuries: Buffon,Fucile
Team news: With players coming into the club, and players leaving, and injuries, the side has quite a new look, with adler, moutinho, lugano, cris, veloso all making debuts this week
Subs: Vercoutre,De Ceglie,Spearing,Taddei,Felipe,Gomis,Briand

Formation: Have gone with a 4-5-1 formation, with getting players behind the ball, and hitting benfica on the counter attack.

Goalkeeper: Adler: no pre match nerves Rene. Have a good debut, be confident, command your box, and yell insturctions at defenders if need be.

Zauri + Grosso. Can get forward on occasions to support wingers and the midfield, but main job is to defend, and to help out the centre backs

Lugano + cris: Expericened pair. What you lack in pace, you excel in skill, experience, and strong in the air. Stay solid at the back, and we will be okay.

Pepe + Maxi: Your job is to provide the width in the side. Pepe, look to get balls in the box for iaquinta, same with Maxi, although Maxi will look to tuck inside and shoot from range, pepe keep your width.

Moutinho + Veloso + Pazienza: Stay solid in the middle of the park. Moutinho the one most likely to get forward, with veloso and pazienza staying in a more defensive role. Moutinho shoot from range if you get a chance.

Iaquinta: The leader of the attack. Playing as a lone striker again. Hold the ball up for Mountino to run onto, or to play the ball out to the wings. Get in the box for the crosses, and get your head on it.

Subs: 45mins: Taddei for Pazienza
65mins: Gomis for Iaquinta
75 mins: De ceglie for grosso

Come on boys!!!!!!!!

LIVERPOOL v malaga

injuries
Casemiro
Vidal

1st Team & Subs

---------------Akinfeev---------------
D.Srna----Bonucci---A.Rami----Enrique
--------Sissoko------M'Vila--------
---------------Montolivo--------------
L.Suarez----------------------Downing
-----------Huntelaar----------

McCarthy, Zanka, Henderson, Dzagoev, Albrighton, Sam, Morata

Captain - Adil Rami

Akinfeev in the stickls again, confident and experienced, holds the back line together and is very vocal...Good in the air and will look to catch what he canif not get a strong fist and punch clear. Will look to get the ball moving quick.

Srna is in at right back, can defend strongly and be a threat going forward. 1st and foremost defend the lines, keep close to the winger and not allow him the time to get moving, keep him to the outside and keep the crosse in to a minimum. Attacking he will support Suarez when possible, pass and move by him allowing Suarez to cut inside and make an extra man in the box.

Enrique like Srna is a strong defender and gets forward. But I would like to stress, only one fullback attacks at any one time. Again, defend the lines and keep the winger quiet by sticking to him like glue. Attacking, Downing likes to go on the outside taking the RB on so Enrique can cut insiode and push on making an extra man in the centre or he can help and double up on their LB.

Rami and Bonucci again are proving to be formidable. Rami will use his strength to take the CF out of the game, mark him very tightlt and do not allow him to turn in on goal. get to him quickly and get in hard on him, but please, Adil - be fair!!
Bonucci will watch the open spaces, watch for any through ball or any midfiedler coming through and look to intercept any danger. Both CB's are dominate in the air so high balls are no problems against the CF.

M'Vila and Sissoko in the middle know each other very well from France U-21's, both matured since then. M'Vila is the tough tackling DM and he will keep the main threat from malaga quiet, be onto him quick and force him to play the ball quickly and make him make mistakes and he will be wary of M'Vila closing him down.
Sissoko is more elegant than M'Vila, but still a tough cookie, will help break up play in a dm role when Malaga are in possesion, but when it is our turn he will move it forward to the lads in front of him, once the ball has gone he will move forward and sit in open spaces in caase of any ball coming back out.

Montolivo will sit just in front of them as my playmaker, when M'Vila and Sissoko havwe won the ball he will pick it up and spray it about, looking to set players free. balls out wide or through to Huntelaar, he can also break into the box as Sissoko willbe there to cover and make that extra threat in the box. he will also get back and stop the 3rd midfielder or Dm breaking forward.

Suarez and Downing out wide again. Suarez has Srna for support and will look to get him on the outside so he can cut into the box and help Huntelaar, his quick feet and movement will cause alot of problems for them and his goals will hopefully see them off..,If Srna is not forward then Suarez has the ability to take players on and look for Huntelaar and Montolivo to play off of. pass and move into open spaces he has created for himself. Downing is more direct and will take the RB on down the wing, will turn him and get the ball into the box for those in it, especially looking for Huntealaar and his height, Enrique will be there to support if needed. Both will watch the fullbacks and will follow them back.

Huntelaar has been in good scoring form and takes his place up front again. he will be a constant threat and will bob and weave to get into open spaces to create chances for himself. otherwise he will look for the crosses coming in or balls through from the middle, two footed and a good strong header will look to use his height against the CB's. He will also look to knock down/flick on to get others in on goal or take defenders away to allow the likes of Suarez, Montolivo get into spaces he has created.

Penalties: Suarez
Free kicks: Suarez
corners: Wingers

Subs

Losing/drawing

70 Mins - Dzagoev > Sissoko go with one DM in M'Vila
80 Mins - Albrighton > Montolivo 4-4-2 Suarez up front

Winning

80 Mins - Albrighton > Downing 4-5-1 with Suarez switching to the left, Montolivo sits deeper

Niko's Fast & Furious League: Tactics Submission Empty Re: Niko's Fast & Furious League: Tactics Submission

LAZIO vs Lyon

Formation - 4-5-1

------------------Marchetti------------

Schwaab-----Agger----Garay----Garrido

-----------Pizarro-------Danilo---------

Mauri-----------Lodeiro--------Donovan

-----------------Klose-----------------

Subs: McGregor, Dias, Brocchi, Sculli, Cisse, Buonanotte, Amorim

Lyon are a strong side and I'm looking to pack the midfield and take possession of the football. The aim will be to stifle Lyon as best we can and constant pressure will be applied to the ball to prevent them finding a rhythm. We'll be patient in attack and rely on the creativity of Lodeiro and Donovan and the crossing of Mauri to give Klose the chance to play on the shoulder.

Goalkeeper

Marchetti is starting tonight and will be expected to marshall his defence in front of him and apply some of that classic Italian defensive nous!

Defence

Schwaab & Garrido

Both will be expected to hold position and anticipate Lyon getting it wide to provide service to the front men. Again they will look to break quickly where the opportunity arises, but in possession they will look to keep it simple and provide the ball to the creative midfielders. They will be pressing the ball when it is with Lyon's wide players and looking to force them wide and make them commit mistakes.

Garay & Agger

If Lyon play with two men up front they will be expected to shadow them man to man and force them away from goal where they can and dominate in the air or on the ground.

If one man is upfront Garay will mark him tightly and Agger will sweep up loose balls and watch for the midfielders breaking in to the box, while doubling up on the front man where required. He will see more of the ball and will need to keep it simple, and distribute well, which he is more than capable of.
Midfield

Danilo debuts tonight and he will be putting his defensive tendancies to good use. He'll be buzzing around a pressing the ball when it is in the midfield and will look to win it back and begin attacks in motion.

Pizarro will see plenty of the football and will look to control the passing in the midfield and patiently probe until the best option presents itself. Where he can, he'll look to slip Mauri or Donovan in behind the full backs. He will press the ball when it is in his area of the pitch and seek to send them out wide or backwards.

Mauri will get chalk on his boots again today and keep wide, whipping balls in to the aerial master Klose.

Donovan will spend his time more in field, but making runs out wide where required to present an option. He will be expected to use his creativity and fashion neat patterns with Lodeiro and Klose and create spaces for shots and passes to be slipped through.

Both Mauri and Donovan will work hard going backwards tracking full backs and looking to get the ball back early.

Lodeiro makes his debut and the system fits him perfectly. He will be allowed freedom of the pitch and will use his magical left foot and vision to pick incisive passes and create chances for the wide men and Klose.

Klose will look to get in the box and get on the end of the balls in. Today however he will see far more ball along the ground and he'll be expected to make intelligent runs to create space for himself and teammates. He'll play on the shoulder most of the night with Lodeiro and Donavan behind him looking to present him with a chance to nick goals.

Corners will be taken by Pizarro on the left and Lodeiro on the right and look to go to the centre of the box with outswingers looking for the men coming in.

Penalties from Klose, because he's German and will never miss.

Free kicks taken by Pizarro who will look to shoot when in range.

Subs: @65mins

If behind have Cisse for Mauri and revert to 4-3-1-2 with Donovan playing off Cisse/Klose. Danilo would come off for Brocchi who would sit and allow Lodeiro/Pizarro to work up field creating.

If winning, Brocchi and Amorim on for Danilo and Pizarro to keep the midfield fresh and hard working, and bringing experience on, in Brocchi.

Klose will come off on 80 minutes regardless, and Cisse will provide fresh legs to stretch Lyon's tiring defence.

MALAGA v Liverpool

First XI and Subs:

Injuries: Ignacio Camacho

--------------------------------------------Wiese-----------------------------------

-----------------Gamez Duarte (C)---Mathijsen---Gamberini-----Nacho Monreal--------

------------Gaitan----------------Diarra------------Chantome-------------Jordi Alba--

----------------------------------------Pjanic----------------------------------------

---------------------------------------------Kiessling---------------------------------

------Subs: Willy, Stankevicius, Ruiz, Apono, Oxalde-Chamberlain, Van Nistelrooy---------

Team Talk:
This week sees us go up against the impressive Liverpool team, so we have to think as a unit lads, this is all about commoradery, work ethic and team spirit. We have gone with a 4-4-1-1 formation, reverting to a 4-5-1 when under intense pressure.

Defence

Naturally a more cautious approah has been chosen in defense with the young attacking right-back Cavanda missing out in place of former club captain Gamez to return. He earns back the captaincy from last week and will use his experience to marshall a well driven back four. At every opportunity he needs to turn Downing outside and down the wing. As a Middlesbrough fan Im fully aware of his limitations and been marked in a fair but aggresive manner is one of them, Gamez should use this tactic to nulify the effect he has on the game.

Mathijsen and Gamberini will need to be strong in defence. When balls are played into the box I want it to be the taller Gamberini who goes with their central striker in an attempt to win the majority of those balls in. Mathijsen will be allowed to play the ball out of defensive positions if he has the time but should not be afraid to clear his lines on occassions.

Nacho Monreal is chosen as left back to help keep the rigidity of the back line. He is solid defensively and due to the attacking nature of the right side of Liverpool will be helped largely by his Spanish International LB playing ahead of him.

Midfield

Nicolas Gaitan will play wide right for this game, although left footed he can use this to his advantage cutting inside and creating chances for the main striker. He must stay alert at all times and stay focused on his defensive duties before seeking to attack.

Diarra and Chantome will be our CDMs, one will look to pick up the spare man at all times with Liverpool employing a one behind the front man role. This player should be tracked at all times. If the ball is out wide on the right then Chantome should move across to help out both Monreal and Alba providing a 3 on 2 situation, with Diarra staying with the spare man and vice versa when the ball is far wide. This can be achieved as neither CDMs of Liverpool have attacking pretentions.

If either CDM does begin to take part in an attack, he will be tracked by Miralem Pjanic who will be able mark either player effectively. When going forward Pjanic should look to exploit the space left in behind either Liverpool full back if they go forward and push our wingers back. This will hopefully pull a defender wide or a midfielder, giving room for Gaitan or Alba to join in.

Jordi Alba has experience playing left wing for Valencia and although now converted to LB will be able to use his attacking prowess to good use whilst covering any attacks going the other way. He can look to be joined by Pjanic who will drift out to this side and hopefully create a 2 on 1 situation where he will be able to deliver the ball in as many times as possible.

Attack

Stefan Kiessling will be asked to play the lone striker role but however will be always supported by those midfielders behind him. He should try to remain the box at all times, playing on the shoulders of the last defenders and looking to ponce on any through balls or crosses sent in for him. Will need a huge work ethic to make sure that the Liverpool defenders are not able to play from the back into the likes of M'Vila.

Miralem Pjanic will be taking any penalties, and Alba and Gaitan will be the corner takers. Alba outswinging from the left and Gaitan inswinging from the right hand side.

Subs

If winning: Apono will come on to form a central 3 in place of Gaitan. Pjanic will move out wide and Apono will sit infront of the back four to create an effective screen. With 10mins remaining Oxlade-Chamberlain will be brought on to offer pace in wide areas and the wily veteran Van Nistelrooy will be brought on to offer a target up front and a focal point so the ball can be held and spread wide punishing a already stretched defence - so that the final formation will look:

---------Apono---------
---Diarra----Chantome--
OX-----------------Alba
----------RVN----------

If losing: Diarra will be removed and replaced by Oxlade-Chamberlain to play wide right. Pjanic will drop into midfield but only Chantome will be left sitting, and Gaitan will go behind as the support striker.

This tactic will be trailed for 15mins and if by 75 nothing has changed, Jordi Alba will be removed with Gaitan going left, and RVN will be sent on up front to provide us with a 4 - 4 - 2 formation. If this at any point gets us back into the game, the Pjanic will immediately removed and Apono will come on into the middle to sure up that central area.

Juventus v Benfica

------------------Eduardo(c) -------------

Lichtsteiner----Costa----Dedé----Emerson--

--Kuyt------García------César-----Nolito--

--------------Krasic---------------------

--------------------Nilmar---------

Subs
Artur GK
Sidnei CB
Rose LB
Airton CM
Verretti CM/AM
McGugan CM
Damiao ST

Injuries: Sílvio, Luisão, Nenê

Team talk
Possession and pace is the key for us today lads. I want quick crisp passing, no long balls & pass to feet. Work as a team and help eachother out. When we have the ball look for the space to run into to receive the ball. Look to draw out their defence to create space for the attackers to run into. When they have the ball mark tightly, double up on them in the middle of the park to get us the ball back for a quick counter attack.

Specifics
Eduardo, Costa, Dedé - Eduardo, take control of your area and be strong in the air. Close down any attacks quickly and spread the play to the wings when we have the ball. CB's, watch for the runs from their midfield and get the block in on any long range shots. Garcia will be dropping back to help you out when Juve are attacking. Cancel out the threat of their strikers quickly and mark your man tightly.

Lichtsteiner & Emerson - Keep a good line with the CB's, stop any crosses coming in, double up with Kuyt & Nolito when they are attacking down the wings to get us the ball back. Link up with the wingers when pushing forward and pass the ball to César & Garcia in the middle freeing you up to move into space. Hug the touchline with Kuyt & Nolito drawing their midfielders to the wings.

Kuyt & Nolito - When their midfielders are drawn the wings, cut the ball inside to César & Krasic so they can run into the space created and threaten their defence or work it back to Lichtsteiner & Emerson. Keep their midfielders chasing the ball so they get tired quickly and use our pace to break them down in the middle of the park.

García & César - Break down attacks quickly and control the midfield. Link up with the wingers and look for the runs of Krasic & Nilmar for the through balls. Be alert of set pieces and corners and look to make quick counter attacks. Dont be afraid to push up when their midfield tires and Cesar shoot from distance.

Krasic & Nilmar - Krasic playing just behind Nilmar I need you each to make runs against their defence and draw them out looking to make a gap or space for the other to run into. When you are in the space look to receive the ball and run on goal quickly, shooting on site. Link up with the wingers and Cesar when he pushes forward. Look for the runs of eachother to feed the ball to. Keep the pressure on their defence to rush them into decisions, hopefully the wrong decisions which can get us the ball back.

Subs on 65 mins if Losing, Winning or Drawing
Kuyt off, Damiao on. Cesar off, Airton on.
------------------Eduardo(c) -------------

Lichtsteiner----Costa----Dedé----Emerson--

--Krasic------García------Airton -----Nolito--

--------------Damiao -----Nilmar---------
Airton fresh legs for Cesar running box to box. Garcia to stay back and protect the back four. Krasic on the wing and Damiao up top with Nilmar to keep the pressure on their defence.

Sub on 80mins if still winning
Nilmar off, McGugan on for fresh legs and to pack the midfield to stop any late attacks.
------------------Eduardo(c) -------------

Lichtsteiner----Costa----Dedé----Emerson--

Krasic---García---McGugan--Airton--Nolito--

Gameweek 5 vs Lazio
Line Up:
--------------------------------Lloris--------------------------------

Réveillère------------Barzagli--------------Astori---------------Bastos

----------------------Gonalons--------Fofana----------------------

Frei---------------------------Martin---------------------------Kalou

------------------------------------Dempsey

Subs: Vercoutre, Lovren, Taylor, Ederson, Grenier. Kranjcar, dos Santos

Injuries - López, Kolodziejczak, Cissokho

Captain: Barzagli, lead by example.

General: Deploying 2 DM’s today as Lazio are good in midfield and once again I feel if we can take control there we can win. Play counter attack. They have decent wingers which we need to stop, cut the supply to the striker and we are half way there. Expecting Klose alone so will have him marked which should limit their chances. Id like to attack down our left and expose the right hand side of Lazio, I feel out of their squad they have the weakest players on the right. Bastos and Kalou are our main focal points but Frei will be keeping width and having balls switched to him to strech Lazio.

Lloris: Command the area, communicate with defence at all times. Keep punching to a minimal, catch as much as you can within reason/if possible. If you see a free player to break with throw the ball out to them quick to launch a counter attack.

Defence: Communication is key, talk and help each other out. Cris and Koné have different attributes which will complement each other. Both will go forward for attacking corners one attacking front post, other centre and alternating each time.

Astori – Zonaly man mark the target man, not too tight but don’t let him play off your shoulder, stay goal side of him at all times. Challenge for all headers and get the tackles in, not too rough as we want to avoid cards. With the ball if under pressure just get rid, if you have time play it out to a DM or out to the wing.

Barzagli – Zonaly man mark the SS if there is one, stay tight on him not letting him turn and challenge him for every ball. If there isn’t act as sweeper. Use your height to win all ariel balls. Get stuck in. With the ball if under pressure just get rid, if you have time play it out to a DM or out to the wing.

Réveillère and Bastos - Both defend and attack very well, Bastos attacks better. Mark opposition wingers. Do not go to ground. Lazio may using wing play to get the ball to Klose so cut this off.

Bastos – Focus on keeping the opposition winger quiet doing all the above. Want you to stay tight on the winger. Keep him out wide and isolated. Don’t let him cut in and come into play. When on the attack I want you bombing forward. Fofana will cover you if we lose possesion but do your best to get back.

Gonalons is partnering you today so you are able to cover Bastos if he is out of position.

Support Dempsey today, try through balls, one-twos and link up with him to get a break through.

Work the flank and get the crosses in aimed for Dempsey. Crosses coming in attack the back post. If in a shooting position take it, we want to work their keeper.

Kalou – Track back and help out the fullback when needed, doubling up on the opposition winger or if the opposition fullbacks push forward track and attempt to tackle them. Keep wide in order to keep width, work the flank and get some crosses in the box, keep them low Martin but Dempsey can head so aim for him. Also like you to drift inside making space for Bastos to overlap. This will get you on your stronger right foot so shoot if a chance arises. Watch for Bastos' runs and feed him in. Id like you to get in the box and support Dempsey as much as possible meaning when Bastos is in down the wing you get in the box.

Dempsey – Out and out striker today. Play off the shoulder. Put some pressure on oppositions CB’s to force errors. Make forward runs and look for through balls. Crosses will be coming in to you, Kalou will be supporting when Bastos comes forward. Martin is supporting from the center and is in a more advanced position today so he will feed you through. Work on linking up with him and breaking down the Benfica back line with quick passes. Shot on sight inside the box.

Subs:
Any score, 78th min Grenier on for Martin. Like for like job.
Any score 82nd min dos Santos for Dempsey, fresh legs with some pace, play more through balls.

Corners: Martin
Free Kick
Right Bastos
Left Marin
Pen Bastos

LIVERPOOL v benfica

Injuries:
McCarthy
Bonucci
Casemiro

---------------Akinfeev---------------
D.Srna----A.Rami---Muniesa----Enrique
--------Vidal------Mvila--------
---------------Dzagoev--------------
L.Suarez----------------------Downing
-----------Huntelaar----------

Montolivo, Zanka, Henderson, Kelly, Albrighton, Sissoko, Morata

A big game, but we are confident after a run of good performances.

Akinfeev is supremely confident, has amazing instincts, great aerial ability and is excellent in one-on-one situations. He commands his penalty box and is very vocal, will keep the back 4 right and will shout if any benfica player is free and to be marked. Will look to release the ball to the quick wingers.

Srna is a all round defender, excellent at defending and will use his experience to keep their winger out the game. mark tightly and stop him getting down the flank or inside. A very hard working player who will get forward and support Suarez, Suarez will look for him over lapping and feed the ball passed the full back for Srna to get the ball into dangerous areas.

Enrique is a good man marker and willget in the face of the winger he is marking. He will also pull out all the stops to cancel out the threat from Benfica. Mark closely and force the lad out of the game. He will get forward as well to support Downing who he knows well, either by getting on his outside or cut in to allow Downing to go to the bye line.

Only one fullback will attack at a time....

Rami is the experienced of the two CB's and he will be 'spare' at the back, using his tactical nous to stop any threat coming from deep, he will watch the spaces and will intercept any through ball or any midfielder/second striker coming through. He will at times help Muniesa and double up on the CF.

Muniesa for a young lad is composed and strong and vey self assured. He has good positional sense so this is why he picks up the CF, without Nilmar they are quite inexperienced up top. So he will stick tight and not allow the striker to get into dangerous positions or allow him to turn and shoot.

No nonsense from the two CB's clear the lines and take no prisoners, but be fair in the tackle..

M'Vila is the main DM, his job is simple..watch the most attacking threat from Benfica's midfield. He will sit just in front of the two CB's and close their player down early and force him into making quick passes, which will at times be loose and misplaced.

Vidal when defending will help M'Vila break up the play, he is a hard working midfielder who is an in your face type character and will never give up the cause. A box to box player with an eye for goal so when we are in possesion he will look to get forward and make late breaks into the box and try and get on the end of any cut backs/knock downs from Huntelaar.

Dzagoev will play ahead of them, he will be the director and will move the ball about, getting it out wide or through to Huntelaar, has good vision for a pass and also a good shot from distance. Will look to support Huntelaar and will get into the box when he can. He will help out defending by watching their 3rd midfielder, the DM and stop him moving forward by getting onto him quickly..

Suarez is in fine form and will look to continue this, although on the right he is a huge threat, he will cut inside allowing Srna to take the full back away, this will free up space for Suarez to run into and get into positions to allow him to havea go at goal, if the CB comes out to meet him then they will be very exposed at the back. Will look to use his skill to get by players and set Huntelaar through or play one twos with him..

Downing is more direct and will look to take his marker on down the outside, Enrique when he is up will support him again taking a player with him giving Downing more room to get his cross in, if Enrique cuts in he will look to him and Vidal to play in short passes so he can get free and sprint passed the right back and into open spaces.

Both Downing and Suarez will look to sstop the threat of Benficas fullbacks and watch them coming forward.

Huntelaar is a perfect lone hitman. Big and strong with two good feet and great aeriel abitlity, will be looking for the balls from the midfield to get in on goal..Wont allow himself to be marked by any CB and he willmove across the line taking players with him, like the full backs and this will allow more room for Suarez, Dzagoev and Vidal to expose. If he cant shoot then he will make sure the chance falls to someone else by heading down, or cutting back to those in a better postion.

LAZIO vs Juventus

Formation - 4-3-2-1

-----------------Marchetti---------------

Schwaab---Agger---Dias-----Garrido

------Sissoko---Pizarro---Ledesma---

-----------Lodeiro-----Holtby----------

-------------------Klose------------------

Subs: Bizzari, Diakite, Brocchi, Maxi Rodriguez, Cisse, Buonanotte, Danilo

Juventus are an improving side, but as the home team, it is our duty to try and take the game to them, and in that regard, I’m looking to maximise my team’s creativity this week. I have gone for a narrow midfield, but with my two AMs expected to roam around in to space, and the full backs will create width with the comfort of my 3-man central midfield being on hand to guard against counter-attacks.

Goalkeeper

Marchetti is starting tonight and will be expected to marshall his defence in front of him and apply some of that classic Italian defensive nous! He’ll need his shouting voice in so the midfield are organised in front of him too.

Defence

Schwaab & Garrido

Both full backs will thank me this week, because they’re going to have to get through some running. I expect them to get up the pitch and create options wide where they can, and to deliver crosses to the box.

This doesn’t mean they can disregard defensive duties, and they will be required to track back if they lose the ball, and use their brains to go forward only when cover can definitely be offered from the middle.

Dias & Agger

These two have played together many times, and can be relied upon to defend to the highest standards.

If Juve play with two men up front they will be expected to shadow them man to man and force them away from goal and dominate in the air or on the ground.

If one man is upfront Dias will mark him tightly and Agger will sweep up loose balls and watch for the midfielders breaking in to the box, while doubling up on the front man where required. He has the luxury of three options in from of him, so keeping the ball from the back is paramount for both my CBs.

Midfield

Ledesma is back tonight and will captain the side. He has skills in both defence and attack and a good range of passing. I expect him to be vigilant in defence, and cover the full backs where required, by dropping back to mark the man or block the space. In attack he will be looking to get the ball forward to the AMs or the full back when they overlap. Simple but effective passing.

Sissoko is debuting tonight, and with his athleticism, big game experience and desire, I look forward to being able to play him. He will be the mirror of Ledesma on the right side of my 3, and will defend aggressively (as always) and keep it simple with the ball. Again, covering FB when required.

Pizarro will see plenty of the football and will look to control the passing in the midfield and patiently probe until the best option presents itself. In tandem with the two AMs, he will be looking to play the key passes to create space or shooting opportunities. Defensive duties remain however and when out of possession, he will take up position in front of the two CBs and look to press the ball and keep Juve at bay centrally.

Holtby comes in to make his first start following injury, and the exciting German AM will look to link with the men behind him, and his compatriot Klose ahead of him. He will be busy when not in possession, trying to win it back, but on the ball will look to be decisive and create opportunities for himself and his teammates. He will be looking to support Klose as much as possible, and take chances when they arrive to him.

Lodeiro plays again and he will again be allowed freedom of the pitch and will use his magical left foot and vision to pick incisive passes and create chances for himself and Klose. He won’t be afraid to shoot either, and playing him on the right side allows him to curl some shots towards the far corner with his left.

Klose will look to get in the box and get on the end of the balls in. He is expected to make intelligent runs to create space for himself and teammates. He'll play on the shoulder most of the night with Lodeiro and Holtby behind him looking to present him with a chance to nick goals. The range of passing in my midfield should assist this, and the FBs will look to utilise that legendary heading ability. Some play will involve him with his back to goal and with two AMs coming behind him, short lay-offs to them could be deadly.

Corners will be taken by Pizarro on the left and Lodeiro on the right and look to go to the centre of the box with outswingers looking for the men coming in.

Penalties from Klose, because he's German and will never miss.

Free kicks taken by Pizarro and Ledesma, both of whom pose a threat on goal, as well as being able to deliver good balls for headers.

Subs: @65mins

If behind have Cisse on for Holtby and Maxi for Ledesma and revert to a 4-4-2 with Lodeiro on the left and Maxi on the right.

If winning, Danilo on for and Schwaab to keep the RB energetic.

@80mins

If still winning, bring Brocchi on for Pizarro and look to squeeze midfield and limit chances.

--------------------------------Lloris--------------------------------

Réveillère------------Barzagli--------------Astori-------------Cissokho

-------------------------------Fofana------------------------------

Frei----------------------------Martin-------------------------Bastos

-------------------Demba Cisse----------Lopez

Subs: Hansen, Taylor, Lovren, Gonalons. Dempsey, Kalou, dos Santos

Injuries - Niko Kranjcar, Grenier, Tafer

Captain: Barzagli, lead by example.

Barzagli – Zonaly man mark the target man, not too tight but don’t let him play off your shoulder, stay goal side of him at all times. Challenge for all headers and get the tackles in, not too rough as we want to avoid cards. With the ball if under pressure just get rid, if you have time play it out to a DM or out to the wing.

Astori – Zonaly man mark the SS if there is one, stay tight on him not letting him turn and challenge him for every ball. If there isn’t act as sweeper. Watch out for an attacking AM, Fofana will mark him zonally so you will have to pick him up the more he advances. If there is is an SS then Fofana will mark AM. Use your height to win all ariel balls. Get stuck in. With the ball if under pressure just get rid, if you have time play it out to a DM or out to the wing.

Réveillère and Cissokho - Both defend and attack very well, Cissokho attacks better. Mark opposition wingers. Do not go to ground. Malaga maybe using wing play to get the ball to Kiessling, RVN is injured, so cut this off.

Réveillère – Focus on keeping the opposition winger quiet doing all the above. I don’t want you attacking at all today, support Frie though. Keep their winger out wide and isolated. Don’t let him cut in, stay on his tight in order to intercept passes to him. You are experienced so use it. You can push up to around the half way line to support Frei, supply him down the flank or look for Fofana & Martin with the ball.

Cissokho – Focus on keeping the opposition winger quiet doing all the above. Want you to stay tight on the winger. Keep him out wide and isolated. Don’t let him cut in and come into play. When on the attack I dont mind you overlapping. Fofana will cover you is you are out of position. When overlapping get crosses in aimed for Demba Cisse or low for Lopez. Aslo Bastos will drift in when you overlap so look for him too.

Fofana – Midfield general. Want you to get all over the pitch. If there is an AM then keep an eye on him, mark him zonally as when he is further advanced he can be left for Astori but if there is two strikers then you must watch the AM. Heres the tricky part, if Cissokho is out of position I want you covering until hes back, Martin will be asked to drop back onto there AM until everyone is back in position. Protect the back four. Go for headers, get tackles in, own the pitch, make it yours!

Martin – Defending wise help out with all midfield duties, tackleing, interception etc. If Cissokho is out of position Fofana will cover him so to ensure we are not caught on the break please cover there AM if one untill numbers are back. Attacking I would like you to take control of the match, dictate the pace and play or the match. Keep the ball moving, slow it down when required and up the tempo when attacking. I want to attack with a high tempo to catch Malaga off guard. Feed the ball down the channles to Frie and Bastos or Cissokho when hes overlapping. Play through balls to Demba Cisse and Lopez, on the deck or over the top, be creative. If in range shoot from distance.

Frei - Track back and help out the fullback when needed, doubling up on the opposition winger or if the opposition fullbacks push forward track and attempt to tackle them. Keep wide in order to keep width. Play cross field balls to Bastos to strech Malaga. Work the flank and get the crosses in aimed for Demba Cisse and low for Lopez. Crosses coming in attack the back post. If in a shooting position take it, we want to work their keeper.

Bastos - Track back and help out the fullback when needed, doubling up on the opposition winger or if the opposition fullbacks push forward track and attempt to tackle them. Work the flank. Get crosses in for Demba Cisse and low for Lopez. Cissokho will overlap at times, this will give you freedom to come inside and create some trouble. Look for the forwards runs and play throughballs, if in shooting range have a crack, youa re our joint leading goal scorer after all.

Lopez - Out and out striker today. Play off the shoulder. Put some pressure on oppositions CB’s to force errors. Make forward runs and look for through balls. Crosses will be coming in to you, Demba Cisse is lining up next to you, work on building a partnership today. He is a strong player so play off him. Work on linking up with him and breaking down the Malaga back line with quick passes. Shot on sight inside the box. Martin will also be supporting from the center.

Demba Cisse - Strong Physical player, like the Andy Johnson type player. Want you to play off the CB and really bully him. Make forward runs and get in behind the back line. Look for all crosses that come in. In general just make yourself a nuisance. You have a great goal scoring record so looking to continue that here at Lyon. Lopez will play off you, look to link up with him and so quick crisp passing will see your two florish as a attacking pair.

Team Talk
Our aim is to control the midfield today and cancel out any attacks from Liverpool. We need to close them down quickly in the middle of the park and on the wings. We have the width and creativity up top so spread the play and always look to make runs against your marker. Move into space to receive the ball and keep it safe. Look for the easy passes rather than the complicated ones to maintain possession. But if there is a through ball that can be made, pass it quickly and support the play going forward.

Eduardo, Luisão, Dedé, García - Keep the communication throughout the game. Eduardo, control the area and be strong. Be alert to crosses and any long range shots. Pass the ball to the wings rather than kick it up front so we keep possession. Luisão & Dedé, you will be supported by García to close down their striker and CAM. Watch for the runs of their wingers coming inside. When one of you move up to close down their player, the other two stay tight with their other attackers. García, when we have possession in front of you, look for the space behind incase the ball comes back.

Sílvio, Lichtsteiner, Kuyt, Lichtsteiner i've put you on the left wing to man mark Suarez. He has always played on the right so stick close to him and dont push up too much. Dedé will watch him when Suarez comes inside so watch for the runners behind down the wing. Nene will be just ahead of Suarez, so look for Nene in space to feed the ball forward. Sílvio, I need you to work your socks off with Kuyt on the wing to give us good width. Look to play one-twos to beat your man and hug the wing. Kuyt, keep on the wing to spread their midfield up. When you are marked tight, play it inside to Krasic.

Krasic, César, Nenê - Krasic & Cesar I need you to draw out their CB's and their CDM to make space for Nene & Damiao to run into. Play intricate little passes, but make sure you keep us the ball. If there is nothing going forward, play it back to Garcia or pass to the wings. Dont be afraid to shoot from outside the box when you have the space. Their main CB is out this week, so Krasic, test their new kid with runs at him when you are sure you can get past him. Nene, move from the wing to inside the park and vice-versa. Keep close to their RB and keep him busy so that their RB cant support their CB's.

Damiao - When we dont have the ball, get in the middle of the park giving us a 4-1-5 formation so that we flood the midfield to stop their passing game. Watch for Krasic joining you in attack and test their defence and keeper with shots. Hold the ball up well for the support play and look to turn your marker as soon as you release the pass. Nene will be cutting in from the wing so keep the ball alive with him also.

Sub if losing on 55mins
Cesar off, McGugan on. Fresh legs and box to box midfielder. Shoot from distance and link up when going forward.

LIVERPOOL v lyon
CAPTAIN - Adil Rami
INJURY - Matin Kelly

TEAM -

-------------Akinfeev-------------
D.Srna---A.Rami--Bonucci--Enrique
---------A.Vidal---Montolivo---------
Albrighton-----------------S.Downing
-------------Suarez--------------
-----------Huntealaar------------

Sbus:- McCarthy, Muniesa, Sissoko, M'Vila, Sam, Lens, Morata

4-4-2 with Suarez just playing off the shoulder of Huntelaar.

Akinfeev:- Solid shot stopper, confident goalkeeper which helps the back 4, will catch most high balls or get a strong punch to it. Will be quick off his line to come out and collect, will look to release the wingers early.

Srna:- Very experienced RB and will defend 1st attack later, will keep the winger to the outside if he can, be quick to him to stop him putting the burners on, nothing rash, stay up as long as he can to stop the lad getting forward. When he gets forward he will support Albrighton as much as he can, pass and get beyond him to get the ball into the box.

Enrique:- Same as Srna defend 1st, hold the line, keep the RW quiet, again try and keep him to the outside. Stop him in his tracks. dont dive in. Will go forward when Srna stays back and he too will do what he can to support Downing.

Rami:- The leader at the back, will be spare and watch any AM/SS coming forward, he wont man mark but he will keep a watchful eye on any open any open spaces they may try and exploit and get in there to intercept any dangerous ball or any player coming to meet the ball so he gets there 1st.

Bonucci:- The man marker, will watch the striker and keep tight on him. Must not be allowed to turn in on goal or break free, stay as close as he can to him. Hit him hard early to lt him know he will be watched closly.

No nonsense from the defese, stay as a 4 when defending and dont leave any gaps.

Vidal:- He will be the DM and will mark the playmaker of Lyon, get in hard on him, stay just in front of the defense and make sure nothing gets through, its a simple task and nothing to complicated. Just stop the boy dictating play and that will stop the majority of attacks through the middle.

Montolivo:- The playmaker, he picks up from Defense or Vidal and gets the ball moving forward, he has great vision so will look to play in the front two or move it out wide to the wingers. He can roam forward once he has passed the ball away and sit on the edge of the box waiting to see if the ball comes out. he will also sit in tight with Vidal when defending.

Albrighton:- The young winger is fearless and will look to take on his marker, he will use what pace he has to take him on, with Srna over-lapping he can look to pass and move inside looking for a return, or he can pass into Montolivo so he can run by his marker to get down to the bye-line.

Downing:- As Albrighton he will go at the LB, I want the wingers involved a lot as they are both dangerous. Downing will get down the flank with Enrique supporting, he has a great cross on him so will look to play it into the strikers.

When defending I want 2 banks of 4, wingers will match the fullback runs and Suarez will keep an eye on the most DM and follow him back.

Suarez:- Like said when we dont have it whe will watch the DM, otherwise he will sit just off Huntelaar looking for knockdowns, he will also look to get beyond Huntelaar and drive into the box, playing one twos as Huntelaar shruggs off defenders with his power. Will also look for through balls from Montolivo to get himself into dangerous positions. He will drift right and left to try and open up the defense.

Huntelaar:- Will look to stay up top at all times. A great finisher and with Suarez they will be a real danger, without 2 of their 1st choice defense they will look to test them at every opportunity. If he cant get a shot in he will be looking for support from Suarez and the wingers or Monty rushing forward, he will knocke it down or lay it off, he will also look to flick it on for Suarez to make his run. Two footed and a great header, he will be looking for the wide players to get it into the box.

Subs:-

70 Mins:-
Losing/drawing:- Lens > Albrighton - New energy and will cut inside and move into the box more
Winning:-M'Vila >Albrighton - 4-5-1 with Suarez moving out to the right hand side

80 Mins:-
Losing/drawing:- Muniesa > Enrique - Srna > RM, Muniesa in a 3 man defense, Lens behind Suarez and Huntelaar 3-4-1-2
Winning:- Moussa Sissoko > Montolivo - A more defensive midfielder looking to shore it up

85 Mins:-
Losing:- Morata > Srna - Lens to RW and Morata up front

Week 7

MALAGA v Juventus (4-2-3-1)

----------------------------------------- Tim Wiese -----------------------------------------------

Frederik Sørensen ------ Víctor Ruiz Torre ---------- Alessandro Gamberini-------------- Nacho Monreal

-------------------------------- Joel Matip ----- Clément Chantôme --------------------------------

Giovani dos Santos----------------------- Miralem Pjanić------------------------------ Nicolás Gaitán

------------------------------------------ Stefan Kießling -----------------------------------------

Captain : Joel Matip
Subs: Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Gaston Ramirez, Luca Marrone, Ruben Martinez, Joris Mathijsen, Ignacio Camacho Barnola and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Tactics:

Overview: With the entire squad hoping to give a 5 star performance in front of the home fans and the new manager, the Malaga side is set up with caution in mind. New signings Matip and dos Santos, come into the side, with the young Cameroonian international taking the captains armband. Pjanić provides the creative spark, with the deadly pace of Gaitán alongside him.

Goalkeeper and Defence: No heroics please. Wiese can hoof the ball forward, as Kießling’s height and control a key to our attacks. Centre backs, make sure the defensive line is not high up the pitch, we don’t want the ball played behind us. The fullbacks are instructed to keep back for now, to neutralise the threat of Juventus wingers. Matip and Chantôme should provide an easy outlet for you, but don’t be afraid to bang the ball forward towards Kießling.

Midfield: Matip and Chantôme give cover from marauding AM’s, with the Frenchman playing slightly more forward, to kickstart the attacks to the three attacking midfielders in front. Key man is Pjanić so get him the ball as quickly as possible along the floor. Gaitán don’t be afraid to use your pace to get behind the RB. Dos Santos should cut inside, and switch positions with Kießling on occasion as both can play effectively as RAM and CF. All three AM’s should be ready to react to Kießling knockdowns.

Striker: Kießling, use your height against relatively small Juventus CB’s. Knockdown for Pjanić and Gaitán who will support from the left. Play unselfishly for the team with a high work rate. Your job is provider rather than scorer on this occasion. When without the ball, hassle the CB’s and look to provide the gaps for the AM’s to run into.

Formation Changes: If Losing after 75mins (4-3-3)

Ruud Van Nistelrooy FOR Clément Chantôme
Nicolás Gaitán FOR Gaston Ramirez

----------------------------------------- Tim Wiese ------------------------------------------------

Frederik Sørensen ------ Víctor Ruiz Torre ------------- Alessandro Gamberini----------- Nacho Monreal

------------------ ------------------------- Joel Matip ----- ---------------------------------------

---------------------- Miralem Pjanić ------ --------------- Giovani dos Santos ----------------------

Stefan Kießling ---------------------- Ruud Van Nistelrooy ------------------------- Gaston Ramirez

Nistelrooy should provide added firepower for the last 15 minutes, with Kießling and Ramirez looking to stretch the Juventus back line on the wings. This will then provide the gaps for dos Santos and Pjanić to exploit. The aim is for Kießling and Ramirez to get wide and cross for Nistelrooy and dos Santos running in unmarked from midfield. Matip to stick to the Juventus AM to restrict counterattacks. Without the ball, dos Santos and Pjanić to join Matip for a three man midfield, with Ramirez and Kießling tracking back down towards them, ready to be released when we get the ball.

Formation Changes: If Winning after 70mins (5-4-1)

Ruud Van Nistelrooy FOR Giovani dos Santos
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain FOR Stefan Kießling
Ignacio Camacho Barnola FOR Miralem Pjanić (after 80mins)

----------------------------------------- Tim Wiese --------------------------------------

Frederik Sørensen ----- Torre----------- Matip----------- Gamberini--------- Nacho Monreal

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain ----- Miralem Pjanić ----- Clément Chantôme -------- Nicolás Gaitán

----------------------------------- Ruud Van Nistelrooy --------------------------------

Much more compact defensive and midfield line, hoping to suffocate the Juventus midfield in the last 20 mins. Matip drops back in a CB role to provide extra height and strength in defence. Both Gaitán and the fresh Oxlade-Chamberlain can exploit the fading RB and LB with their pace. Van Nistelrooy to become a real nuisance by holding up the ball and releasing the two wide men. Pjanić and Chantôme can sit tight in midfield and play it nice and easy left, right and in front. DM Barnola to come on for Pjanić after 80 mins in straight swap to kill the game dead.

Benfica vs LAZIO
Week 7
Formation - 4-5-1

----------------Bizzarri--------------
Schwaab---Agger----Garay----Garrido
----------------Sissoko--------------
-----------Pizarro-------Banega------
Maxi Rodriguez--------------Griezmann
----------------Klose----------------

Subs: Frimpong, Dias, Brocchi, Lodeiro, Emmanuel, Buonanotte, Donovan

Injuries: Marchetti, Djibril Cisse

Benfica are a very good side, and as the away team, we can expect them to come out looking for three points. I have set my side up to make sure the midfield has enough steel to stilfle Benfica, and to give us enough creativity to take advantage of the chances as they arise. Out and out wingers have been preferred to take advantage on the break, and with them being able to find Klose or go it alone, I think there are goals in this team.

Goalkeeper

Bizzarri is in for the injured Marchetti, but he has a wealth of experience and more than enough ability. He’ll need to be commanding and his distribution must be quick and always keeping us in possesion. No long humps up field, instead he’ll pick players out, and look to release the wingers to counter where possible.

Defence

Schwaab & Garrido

Classic full back roles for them both today, and that means a balanced approach to attack and defence. Supporting and starting attacks is encouraged, but the number one aim is to keep the Benfica wingers at bay, and that means falling back whenever the ball is lost and not losing their man. They will not dive in to tackles and they’ll be looking to usher the danger away.

Garay & Agger

If Benfica play with two men up front they will be expected to shadow them man to man and force them away from goal where they can and dominate in the air or on the ground. Agger being the taller will take the striker offering more aerial threat.

If one man is upfront Agger will mark him tightly and Garay will sweep up loose balls and watch for the midfielders breaking in to the box, while doubling up on the front man and wingers to stifle attacks where he thinks he should. Both CBs are expected to be comfortable on the ball, and to find the midfielders or full backs with short passes. No humping it up or giving it away cheaply.

Midfield

Sissoko starts again, and he will be the key defensive midfielder. He’ll act as the enforcer and won’t be shy in getting his foot in, while also looking for interceptions on any through balls. He’ll get about the pitch, and his sheer athleticism will ensure a rough ride for any Benfica Ams that he shadows. On the ball he is more than capable, and he’ll keep it simple, and pick the creative players out to get the team going forward again.

Pizarro will, as always, be expected to get his foot on it and control the passing in the midfield. He’ll be looking for penetrating passes where he can, through to the wingers or Klose, and he has the ability to slip them through and create chances for us. In defence he will be expected to hold position and pressure the ball to keep it as far away from the back line as he can.

Banega makes his debut and I’m happy that his all round game will fit brilliantly. In attack, like Pizarro, he will be seeking to get the ball in behind or to Klose, but he will be the most attacking of my 3 midfielders, and will look to arrive late in the box, and to link with Klose and the wingers. Shooting is always encouraged where he thinks he can test the keeper. In defence he will do the same as Pizarro and look to force attacks away, but if the ball is won back, he will be forward looking. A real box to box kind of day for him.

Griezmann starts on the left flank today and will be using his pace, dribbling and creativity to good effect. He will look to get in behind where possible, and will take on his man where he can. Whipped crosses are the order of the day, and Klose will be the target. Where possible, shots are welcomed, but shouldn’t be frivolous where the ball may be better utilised.

On the right flank is Maxi Rodriguez, and he will have the same remit as Griezmann. His shooting and goalscoring ability is lauded too, so he will be looking to get shots away on either foot. Crosses again to be aimed at Klose, but when crosses are coming in from the left, he will be occupying the far post and looking to get chances with his head and feet.

Both wingers will be expected to track with their full back if they raid forward, and as soon as the ball is won back, to exploit them being out of position.

Klose will look to get in the box and get on the end of the balls in and to get his head or feet to them. With Banega and Pizarro in the side, he will be staying on the shoulder and looking to get himself free where he can too.

Corners will be taken by Pizarro today and he’ll be looking for Klose, Agger or Garay to get their heads on it.

Penalties from Klose.

Free kicks taken by Pizarro who will look to shoot when in range.

Subs: @65mins

If behind have Donovan on for Griezmann and have him coming inside looking to link with Klose and get shots away frequently.

@75 mins
If still behind, bring Lodeiro on for Sissoko and revert to 4-2-3-1, with Lodeiro exclusively as an AM, looking to create for the front three.

If winning, Pizarro comes off for Frimpong who will buzz around and stamp out attacks alongside Sissoko and Banega. Griezmann off for Buonanotte to keep the wing fresh and ensure full backs are tracked.

Week 7
Benfica v Lazio

Starting 11. Formation 4-4-1-1

------------------Artur -------------
Lichtsteiner--Luisão---Dedé---Emerson--
---Kuyt-----César----Airton---Nenê--
------------------Krasic---------------
------------------Nilmar---------------

Subs
Mika GK
Sidnei CB
Sílvio LB/RB
McGugan CM
Verretti CM/AM
Miyaichi LW/RW
Nolito ST

Injuries: Javi García, Leandro Damiao, Eduardo

Team Talk: After a good performance against Liverpool more of the same please. I need you to all help eachother out in defence and going forward. Play it safe at the back and pass the ball between yourselves until space opens up ahead of you. Midfield, stretch the play down the wings, cut inside, look for the space to exploit and keep Lazio chasing the ball to tire them out. When attacking support the play and always give eachother options. If we are tightly marked, play it backwards or to the wings and start the attack again. Keep the ball, support eachother, be patient, be clinical up front. Those are the main keys for this game.

Specifics

Artur - Lazio may be looking to play to the height of Klose. If they get any crosses in, be strong in the air and collect the ball or punch it away if the box is crowded. The same applies to free kicks. Be alert to any midfielders joining the attack for any long range shots. Our CB's will look to get the block in, but watch for any deflections. Do not go to ground too easily if it is a case of one-on-one. Close down the striker and make yourself large making the shot on goal more difficult. For goal kicks look to the wings, or pass it to the LW for a build up down the wings.

Luisão & Dedé - When Luisão leads the defence out to play an offside trap I want the rest of you to follow instantly. Luisão, you are marking Klose. Keep tight to him and dont give him any room to move. Challenge strong (but fair) in the air. Dede, if they play a 2nd striker you are marking him, if they dont, watch their CAM for his runs and get in front of him quickly for any long range shots. When in possession look for César & Airton to pass the ball to, if they are marked, play the ball across the back 4 until someone is in space to pass the ball to.

Lichtsteiner & Emerson - Watch for the runs from their wingers. Block any crosses you can. Watch for Luisão's lead and follow your captains instructions. Communicate with the CB's. Double up with Kuyt & Nene on their wingers to stop them passing the ball back inside. Look to make quick runs down the wings when we are in comfortable possession and hug the wings keeping our width. But your most important job today is to keep with their wingers when they go to make their runs. Do not let them get goal side of you!

Kuyt & Nene - In your defensive roles, get back to support Lichtsteiner & Emerson when Lazio's wingers are attacking. Look to get into space for our goal kicks. Make runs ahead of their wingers when Lichtsteiner & Emerson have the ball to receive the ball to attack their wing backs. Keep the ball on the wing as long as you can, and when their midfielders join their wingers to close you down, play the ball back to Lichtsteiner & Emerson so they can pass it to our midfielders instantly where the space is for a quick attack. Play the ball to feet to Krasic and Nilmar when you cut inside. Kuyt, when we have the ball on the opposite wing, come in alongside Krasic pushing forward and Lichtsteiner take the place of Kuyt on the wing. This will keep their LB marking Lichtsteiner. Cesar, push forward to keep their CDM busy and this will draw out a CB to come to Kuyt. Pass the ball to Krasic or Nilmar leaving both of them to go up against only one CB to create a good scoring opportunity. Likewise Nene, when the ball is on the opposite wing, deploy the same tactic. Nene cut inside and shoot from outside the box or make a diagonal run to goal to shoot.

César & Airton - Airton you are to stay back when Cesar pushes forward. In your defensive roles keep tight to their midfielders when they are attacking and tackle strongly. Command the middle of the park, look for the space generated when their midfield are drawn to the wings for quick attacks. Cesar push forward when Kuyt or Nene joins Krasic to keep their CDM marking you, freeing space for Krasic & Nilmar to run at their CB. Cesar dont be afraid to shoot from outside the box when given the chance.

Krasic & Nilmar - When we are not in possession I need you to get back to support the midfield. Close down their defence when the have the ball to try and get them to make a rash decision and mistakes. Make runs off eachother and look to play eachother in. Shoot from distance to test their reserve keeper as their first choice keeper is out this week. He will be nervous so give him a horrid time. Run at their defence and play through balls to eachother. Shoot on site when in the box. I want lots of shots, shots = goals. The support play will be with you going forward so also look to Nene, Kuyt and Cesar when they make a run.

Sub on 60mins if losing:
McGugan on, Airton off. McGugan push forward to shoot from distance. Krasic pushed more up front joining Nilmar in a 4-4-2
------------------Artur -------------
Lichtsteiner--Luisão---Dedé---Emerson--
---Kuyt-----César----McGugan--Nenê--
-------------Krasic-----Nilmar----------

Sub on 65 mins if winning
Kuyt off, Nolito on. Krasic moves to wing. Cesar to sit back with Airton to protect the defence, Nolito to play up front with Nilmar to keep pressure on Lazio in a 4-4-2
------------------Artur -------------
Lichtsteiner--Luisão---Dedé---Emerson--
---Krasic-----César----Airton---Nenê--
------------Nolito ------Nilmar---------

Sub on 80 mins if still winning
Nilmar off, Sidnei on. 5 in midfield to snuff out any attacks.
------------------Artur -------------
Lichtsteiner--Luisão---Dedé---Emerson--
--Krasic--César--Sidnei--Airton--Nenê--

Gameweek 7 vs Liverpool
Line Up:
--------------------------------Lloris--------------------------------

Gassama-----------Taylor----------------Barzagli-----------Cissokho

------------------Gonalons--------------Fofana-------------------

Frei----------------------------------------------------------Bastos
--------------------------Lopez
------------------------------------Demba Cisse

Subs: Koné, Lovren, Kolodziejczak, Nainggolan, Martin, Dempsey, Kalou

Injuries - Hansen, Réveillère, Astori

Captain: Barzagli, lead by example.

General: First half focus on keeping possesion, making Liverpool work to get the ball back. Really want the to work so in the second half their fatigue kicks in. Keep things tight, dont make any "hollywood" passes, keep it simple and find a team mate. Defend as a unit, front the front. Keep the pace quite slow, only on the attack we want to up it. Play down the flanks, we have good width so use it especially on the counter. Bastos is a big threat for us as well as Lopez and Demba Cisse. Im expection a lot of pressure from Liverpool, they are an attacking team. If we can hit them on the break do so. We want to get to 60 minutes with a 0-0 score, then our tactics below will kick in and we can really push for a win.

Lloris: Command the area, communicate with defence at all times. Keep punching to a minimal, catch as much as you can within reason/if possible. If you see a free player to break with throw the ball out to them quick to launch a counter attack

Defence: Communication is key, talk and help each other out. Keep it tight at the back. Taylor and Barzagli have different attributes which will complement each other. Both will go forward for attacking corners one attacking front post, other centre and alternating each time.

Barzagli – Zonaly man mark the target man, should be Huntelaar, not too tight but don’t let him play off your shoulder, stay goal side of him at all times. Challenge for all headers and get the tackles in, not too rough as we want to avoid cards, stop him getting any flick ons to Suarez. With the ball if under pressure just get rid, if you have time play it out to a DM or out to the wing.

Taylor - Im expecting Suarez to be playing off Huntelaar. If so the DM will mark him and you are to cover all gaps, go to Suarez if he loses his marker. Play your usual rough and ready no nonsence game, challange for all headers and use your ability to read the game to make interceptions. With the ball if under pressure just get rid, if you have time play it out to a DM or out to the wing.

Gassama and Cissokho - Both defend and attack very well, Cissokho attacks better. Mark opposition wingers. Do not go to ground. Do your best to cut the supply to Liverpool wingers.

Gassama - Focus on keeping the opposition winger quiet doing all the above. Want you to stay tight on the winger. Keep him out wide and isolated. Don’t let him cut in and come into play. When on the attack I dont mind you overlapping. Support Frei but dont push too far forward, focus on defending today.

Cissokho – Focus on keeping the opposition winger quiet doing all the above. Want you to stay tight on the winger. Keep him out wide and isolated. Don’t let him cut in and come into play. When on the attack I dont mind you overlapping, dont in the first half, focus on defending.

Fofana – Midfield general. Want you to get all over the pitch, get the tackles in, interceptions etc. Protect the back four. Go for headers, get tackles in, own the pitch, make it yours! Distribute the ball to the wide positions, find space and make yourself available for the ball. Gonalons will be following Suarez where ever he goes so you must man the center of the park. Try pick out their playmaker and when hes on the ball close him down.

Gonalons - You have a very important job today. Suarez will most likely be playing in the space between defence andf mid like he has most of the season. I want you to man mark him tight. Do not give his space, stand up to him, stay on your feet and keep your eye on the ball. Your soul job is to nulify his threat, do this we have a great chance of winning.

Feel free to drift inside every now and then. If in shooting range have a pop. Play throughballs to the forwards.

Lopez - Play in the hole today. Make forward runs and look for through balls. Crosses will be coming in to you, Demba Cisse is lining up infront of you. He is a strong player so play off him. Work on linking up with him and breaking down the Liverpool back line with quick passes. Shoot on sight inside the box. When defending and under pressure Id like you to drop a little deeper and attach yourself to there most defensive midfield player, this way you can cut him out from supporting his midfield in the hope to force an error and win possesion back, alternatively you can nick the ball off him and start a quick break.

Demba Cisse - Strong Physical player, Rami has played the last four matches so Im expecting him to start, if correct I want you to enforce yourself on him and force him to mark you, you have the strenght to beat him. Play off Rami and really bully him, force him to struggle. Make forward runs and get in behind the back line. Look for all crosses that come in. In general just make yourself a nuisance. You bagged a goal on your debut so do your best to keep that up. Shoot on sight in the area. Lopez will play off you, look to link up with him and so quick crisp passing will see your two florish as a attacking pair. At times Lopez will drop deep and you maybe isolated for periods of the match, its important to stay focused during these times as the defenders or Rami could lose focus which you can use to benifit you.

Corners: Bastos
Free Kicks:
Right: Bastos
Left: Bastos
Pen: Demba Cisse

Subs
If 0-0 at 60 minutes: Nainggolan on for Lopez. Apply following tactics:

Cissokho - If 0-0 with 60 mins gone you can be a bit more adventurous as I will make a sub then to allow you more freedom. Fofana will cover you if you are out of position. When overlapping get crosses in aimed for Demba Cisse. Also Bastos will drift in when you overlap so look for him too, watch his runs and play him in.

Fofana - Now if 0-0 with 60 mins Cissokho will start to venture forward, if so and he is out of position I want you covering until hes back, Martin will be asked to drop back onto there AM until everyone is back in position.

Nainggolan - Drop into midfield, cover Fofana zone if he is covering for Cissokho. Otherwise act like a box to box player. Get tackling, interception etc. When we have push forward to around the 18 yard box, we need you able to get back and cover Fofana.

Bastos - If 0-0 at 60 mins Cissokho will start to overlap and push more forward. This will give you freedom to come inside and create some trouble. Look for the forwards runs and play throughballs, if in shooting range have a crack, you are our joint leading goal scorer after all. Support Demba Cisse more and let Cissokho work the flank. Make forward runs in behind.

Demba Cisse - You will be isolated a lot more. Bastos is going to come in and support you on attacks. When we are defending you will be alone so just do your best to bully Rami and hold the ball up for support.

Week 8 Tactics

MALAGA v Benfica

Week 8 Injuries
Nicolás Gaitán
Alessandro Gamberini
Kris Stadsgaard

Formation: 4-3-3

----------------------------------------- Tim Wiese ----------------------------------------

Jesus Gamez Duarte ----------- Víctor Ruiz Torre--- Joris Mathijsen ------------- Nacho Monreal

--------------- Joel Matip -------------- Miralem Pjanić ---------- Tom Huddlestone -----------

Giovani dos Santos --------------------- Burak Yılmaz ------------------------- Gaston Ramirez

Van Nistelrooy FOR Yilmaz = 70mins
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain FOR Giovani dos Santos = 70mins

Subs:
Ruud Van Nistelrooy
Vicente Guaita
Luca Marron
Ahmed Khalil
Eliseu Pereira dos Santos
Clément Chantôme
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Overview: After a disappointing loss against Juventus, the team has been set up with a greater attacking threat. Huddlestone comes straight into the side after his transfer, and improves the team with his passing ability. Yilmaz also comes into the first 11, hoping to impress.

Goalkeeper and Defence: Wiese, with Gamberini being injured, I want you to give support to the able deputy of Mathijsen. Be attentive for runs behind our defensive line by the Benfica strikers. Full backs, get forward when possible. You will be supported by Matip and Huddlestone when doing so.

Midfield: Matip and Huddlestone to support the full backs when they go forward, and to be watchful over counter attacks. Matip, take particular notice of roaming AM’s. Huddlestone, use your long range passing ability to spray the ball to our attacking wingers. Pjanic, you have a free role in the middle of the park. Try and exploit the gaps left when Benfica push forward, for a quick counter attack. Support Yilmaz when possible.

Strikers: dos Santos and Ramirez to use their speed and trickery to get behind the Benfica full backs who will probably be trying to get forward. Be watchful for Pjanic and Huddlestone starting quick counter attacks, and our full backs overlapping you. Come inside as well and support Yilmaz as CF’s. When Benfica have the ball, come down towards the midfield to form a 5-man midfield. Yilmaz, I will be looking for a good game from you. Van Nistelrooy scored last week, so I am putting faith in you by placing you in the first team ahead of him. You have the talent – now get the goals.

Formation: 4-4-2 (If winning after 70mins)

----------------------------------- Tim Wiese -----------------------------------------

Jesus Gamez Duarte ------ Víctor Ruiz Torre------- Joel Matip ------------ Nacho Monreal

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain -- Miralem Pjanić -- Tom Huddlestone -- Eliseu Pereira dos Santos

-------------------------Burak Yılmaz -------- Ruud Van Nistelrooy----------------------

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain FOR Joris Mathijsen
Eliseu Pereira dos Santos FOR Giovani dos Santos
Ruud Van Nistelrooy FOR Gaston Ramirez

E Dos Santos and Oxlade-Chamberlain to provide fresh legs and a continued speed threat on the wings. Huddlestone and Pjanic to sit back and soak up the pressure, while releasing the wingers. Van Nistelrooy to support Yilmaz and exploit any gaps left by attacking Benfica full backs. Matip to drop into a centre back role to give added height, and a greater turn of speed against a long ball over the top or a pass between him and Torre.

Niko's Fast & Furious League: Tactics Submission Empty Re: Niko's Fast & Furious League: Tactics Submission

Post by Fan Gilhaus Thu 24 Nov 2011, 4:24 pm

------------Akinfeev------------
D.Srna--Bonucci--A.Rami--Enrique
----------Mvila----Vidal----------
--Lens---------------------Sam--
--------------Suarez--------------
-------------Huntelaar-------------
McCarthy, Muniesa, Casemiro, Sissoko, Henderson, Albrighton, Rhodes

Injuries:- Morata, Downing
Liverpool V Lazio

Akinfeev is a dominate keeper who instills confidence in the back 4, he will come out for high balls and punch clear what he cant catch, he will look to release the wide players early to get at their defense.

Rami will man mark the striker, get in hard on him early but fairly, make the striker wary to take him on. Stick tight as to not allow him to turn in on goal.

Bonucci will be spare, picking up any loose ball and getting rid. Watch open spaces they may try and exploit and he will get there 1st to intercept any danger. Both CB's I want no nonsense, clear any danger.

Srna is an attacking FB and I want him to get down ansd support Lens as much as he can when he is not defending, pass and run outside him this will allow Lens to cut inside and support the forwards. Srna will whip the ball in for the forwards or play back inside for Lens. He will defend his lines well and keep tight to the winger and stop him cutting inside.

Enrique, wont attack as much as Srna so when he does it has to be when Srna is back, he too will support Sam the same way Srna does with Lens. Stay solid in defense and keep the winger quiet by getting him on the outside. Both FB's get in early and stop them from getting balls into the area.

Solid back 4. stay focussed and do the simple things right...

Mvila is my main DM - his job is simple, stop the AM/SS from dictating play. Do this and it nulifies their attack. be strong in the tackle and make himp lay quick, mis-timed/placed tackles, will sit just in front of the two CB's

Vidal, when defending will sit alongside Mvila, and help break up play, any other time I want him moving forward driving with the ball from midfield or passing out wide or through to the front two, he is a box to box midfielder with timeless energy..He will harray and harrass and get right in the faces of there player.

Sam and Lens out wide, tow very direct players who will take on the fullbacks at will. Will use their pace to get by them or use the fullbacks behind them to get the ball beyond them tso they can cut in to support. Are comfortable going outside their man to whip in dangerous balls or when going inside they will look for Vidal or Suarez to pass the ball back so they can move into the box for a shot at goal. When defending watch the fullbacks breaking forward and stop them in their tracks by following them back.

Suarez will support Huntelaar, really a free role, so I want him to drift left and right taking his marker with him, this will create holes for others to move into. He can also take his man on pass to Huntelaar and move into positons for the return ball so he too can have a pop at goal. Stick with the DM when they have the ball and stop him moving forward.

Huntelaar with great support will be a danger, scoring alot this season and will want to contimnue this, He is a good header and two good feet so can have a go from anywhere, will look for balls in from wide to try and out jump defenders or through balls from Suarez to either turn and shoot or play back to the 3 runners Sam, Lens, Suarez to let them have a go, High balls from deep he can knock down or flick on to allow Suarez in on goal. Move about and take the CB with him creating holes in their back line.

Captain:- Rami
Penalties:- Suarez
Set Pieces:- Wingers
Free Kicks outside the box:- Suarez

Subs:-

70 Mins:-
Losing/Drawing
Albrighton>Sam - Albrighton-RW, Lens-LW - Suarez directly up front
Winning
Moussa Sissoko > Sam he will sit in beside Mvila and Suarez moves to LW

80Mins:-
Losing/drawing
Rhodes/Henderson >Lens/Mvila
Vidal will sit in
4-1-3-2
Albrighton-Henderson-Suarez
Rhodes-Huntelaar

Rhodes is a poacher and will look to pounce on everything

JUVENTUS TACTICS VS Lyon

---------------------------------------------Buffon-------------------------------------------

---------Fucile------------------------Lugano--------------------Cris-----------Sandro--

---Walcott-------------------Parker-------------------Pazienza---------------Honda--

------------------------------------------------Perrotta---------------------------------

-------------------------------------------------Gilardino-----------------------

Captain: Diego Lugano
Injuries: De Ceglie,Veloso,Pepe

GOALKEEPER: Buffon, Will probably have a lot of work to do today. Command your box, punch if need be, and roll the ball out to the full backs, and build play from the back

FUCILE+ SANDRO: Main responsblity today is defending. Only get forward on odd occasions, you will get support from the wingers, but you have be on your game, today to stop the Lyon wingers

LUGANO+CRIS: Be strong aerial, and make sure you both pick a man. If Lyon play 2 up front than both mark a man and stick with him. If they play one upfront, then cris, mark him, and Lugano make sure you cover.

WALCOTT+ HONDA: Make sure you stay on your wings, and get balls into the box. The ball will be passed out to the wings. Use your pace to get past the full backs, and cross the ball. Shoot from range if you get the opportunity. Honda can tuck inside, when Sandro overlaps. Walcott stay on your wing and use your pace to get past the full back.

PARKER + PAZIENZA: Your job is to stay strong in the centre of midfield. Be strong when going into tackle, and dont let them through you. When you get the ball, pass out to the wings, with some silky through balls, shoot from range if you get the chance.

PERROTTA: Your job is to get forward and support Gilardino. Shoot from range, also get the ball to the wings, and get in the box

GILARIDINO; Playing as a lone forward. Get the ball down hold it up for perrotta and wingers to run onto it, get in the box for the crosses

Team Talk
Defence - Play it safe at the back, dont take any chances. Build the play down the wings. Push out the box when the ball is cleared.
Midfield - Spread the play on the wings, cut inside. Attack your marker on the wings and run at him with the ball. Look for the space to work into.
Attack - Be clinical in front of goal, shoot from outside the box and in it. Wingers - support the attacker and get in the box when the ball is on the other wing.

Specifics
Artur, Luisão, Dedé - Communication between you is vital. The penalty area is yours, be dominant in it and take command. Artur, when you have the ball, look for Cesar on the wing. If the marking is tight, roll the ball out to Lichtsteiner and we will work it from defence. Luisão & Dedé do not give their attackers any space. Mark them tightly and look for quick counter attacks when we have the ball.

Lichtsteiner, Emerson, García - Wing backs - In the first instance, defend, but I want you to push up more this week than you did last week. I want to use our pace on the wings to start most attacks so link up with Cesar & Nolitio. When defending watch for the runs their wingers may make behind you and stay with them. Stop any crosses. Garcia, as always, protect the back four, get stuck in the midfield and mark the CAM they may play.

César & Nolito - You both have important jobs today as I want to stretch their midfield. Keep tight to the wings, and draw their midfield to you. Play through balls to Krasic & Verretti who will be making the runs just inside of you. Dont cross the ball in the air, look to pass to feet. Run at your markers and when you get past them, cut inside and look for whoever is in space on the edge of the box or play the ball at pace across the 6 yard line just ahead of their keeper for a knock in at the near post.

Krasic & Verretti - Make runs at their midfield without the ball to give our wingers a one on one chance with their markers. When their midfield is drawn to the wings, get in space on the edge of the box ahead of their CB's and look for the run from Nilmar to feed the ball to. When advancing with the ball from midfield, watch for the runs of Nilmar as he tries to turn his marker and play the ball over the top for him to run onto. Shoot from outside the box and when in it. Help out Garcia when we are not in possession and keep pressure on their midfield.

Nilmar - Make runs on your marker looking to receive the ball over the top when we have it in midfield. Make runs to the near post when the ball is on the wings. Link up with Krasic and Verretti for one twos to beat your marker when on the edge of the box to give us a scoring opportunity. When the ball is on a wing, the other winger will be supporting you in the box so watch for their runs if they have a better chance of scoring than you. Draw out their CB marker to make space for Krasic & Verretti to expose. Shoot on site!

Sub if losing on 55mins
Verretti off, Damiao on. Damiao to join the attack. Krasic in the free role linking up with the front 2. Wingers to continue stretching play on the wings and cutting inside.

LAZIO vs Liverpool

Week 8

Formation - 4-2-3-1

Starting XI
GK – Marchetti
RB – Schwaab
LB – Del Nero
CB – Garay
CB – Agger
DM – Sissoko
DM – Pizarro
CM – Banega
RM – Maxi Rodriguez
LM – Griezmann
CF – Klose

--------------------Marchetti---------------
Schwaab-------Agger------Garay----Del Nero
--------------Sissoko----Pizzaro-------------
Maxi Rodriguez-----Banega--------Griezemann
--------------------Klose-------------------

Subs: Frimpong, Dias, Brocchi, Lodeiro, Barretto, Buonanotte, Donovan

Injuries: Cisse, Emmanuel, Garrido

Liverpool top the league and have a very solid team with plenty of attacking creativity and the ability to score goals. Our aim is to stifle them in attack today and to spring forward on the counter, using the pace on the wings and Banega’s energy in the centre to support Klose as the lone forward.

Goalkeeper

Marchetti is back in goal and the Italy international will have to be on his toes and expect shots from anywhere, with the tricky Suarez and a strong forward line. He will be marshalling the men in front of him and keeping constant communications to ensure there are no holes in the back line.

Defence

Schwaab & Del Nero

The full backs are going to be on defensive duty for much of the day, and will be keeping close to the Liverpool wide men, and stopping supply in to the box from the wing. They will not commit themselves to tackles, rather looking to usher the ball away and use positional sense to make interceptions. When countering they are given licence to support attacks, but they must be able to scramble back to position at any time to keep a solid bank of four at the back.

Garay & Agger

If Liverpool play with two men up front they will be expected to shadow them man to man and force them away from goal where they can and dominate in the air or on the ground. Agger being the taller will take the striker offering more aerial threat.

If one man is upfront Agger will mark him tightly and Garay will sweep up loose balls and watch for the midfielders breaking in to the box, while doubling up on the front man and wingers to stifle attacks where he thinks he should. They will be looking for quick distribution on the ball, and we want attacks to have real pace and energy, and this starts with them.

Midfield

Sissoko will be playing as the defensive midfielder and will take on the role of enforcer and won’t be shy in getting his foot in, while also looking for interceptions on any through balls. He will shadow Liverpool’s most advanced midfielder all game and will pressure him in possession. On the ball, he will play it quickly but sensibly, and Pizarro will be close by to set moves going.

Pizarro will be in a more defensive role today and will look to intercept and break up attacks, as well as apply pressure to the ball where possible to force attacks backwards. He will always be available to get the ball going forward though, and his range of passing should see him being pivotal in launching attacks from deep with pace.

Banega is the furthest forward of the midfielders whilst stopping short of being all out attacking. He will be the one supporting attacks from deep and breaking forward on the counter, to link with Klose and to provide an option for the wingers in the box and out. Defensive duties for him will consist of pressing the ball when it is with the Liverpool CM/DM’s and disrupting rhythm ahead of Sissoko and Pizzarro. If he can nick the ball away he will be looking to get goals and shooting is encouraged if he can catch Liverpool sleeping.

Griezmann starts on the left flank today and will be expected to be disciplined in defence and incisive in attack. He will use his pace to go at the defence and get behind, and when on the ball will be wanting to find Klose with a cross or pass. Shooting and snap shots are encouraged, and we want Liverpool to feel uneasy with the pace we play at.

The remit of Maxi is identical to that of Griezmann, and both he and Griezmann will be far post waiting for crosses as they come in.
Both wingers will also be expected to track with their full back if they raid forward, and as soon as the ball is won back, to exploit them being out of position.

Strikers

Klose will look to get in the box and get on the end of the balls in and to get his head or feet to them. He will be the lone forward and his only task is to poach and get goals. His movement will have to be exceptional, but he is quick enough and direct enough to be a threat. Shooting encouraged.

Corners will be taken by Pizarro today and he’ll be looking for Klose, Agger or Garay to get their heads on it.

Penalties from Klose.

Free kicks taken by Pizarro who will look to shoot when in range.

Subs: @65mins

If behind have Buonanotte on for Maxi and have him pressing forward and looking for killer passes.

@75 mins
If still behind, bring Lodeiro on for Pizarro and revert to 4-1-4-1, with Lodeiro moving forward and looking to create for the front three.

If winning, Pizarro comes off for Frimpong who will buzz around and stamp out attacks alongside Sissoko and Banega. Banega will drop back and focus more on repelling attacks.
