I can still play!!

Thought you guys might like to know that after 2 years away from the game (2 new hips and other assorted ailments for those who don't know) I took the clubs to Tenerife and played 2 rounds of 18 (at Amarillo) and 27 holes at Golf del Sur with no after-effects at all. We used a buggy but would have done anyway because it was very hot and humid and the courses are very hilly with lots of walking from green to tee. I scored reasonably well considering the lack of practice and course time and am looking forward to getting back into the swing of things now I'm home.

Nice one LP, there is the makings of a Southern spring 606 get together next year. So far myself, Mercurio and mav have talked about meeting up. Maybe with you and Davie and a few others (D4S, Smithers?) we could make a day of it.

I'd definitely be up for another get together, Can't speak for SJ but I know he would be too. (Oops, I just did speak for him ) I reckon we could drag LJ out of 'retirement' as well. JAS never says no to a game of golf and as for NoShanking, well if there is likely to be a woman anywhere within 5 miles of the course then he'll turn up too

Thanks Grumpy - LordPutt is now pretty well fully recovered from his smashed elbow and played reasonably well on holiday too, until he started to try and hit the cover off the ball a few times and the dreaded slice re-emerged . He has also reached a settlement over his claim for compensation, too, so is now a much happier bunny. Only took a couple of weeks shy of two years!

It's the easy thing to do, just a little bit more and it will go even further; trouble is, it would be further into the poopie stuff.

I keep telling him to swing easy and when he does, it goes long and straight. Then he wants that bit more, wellies it and it goes way right - in the case of Tenerife, out of bounds and into various barancas (or people's front gardens!). Willl he ever learn .... ?

My wifes 81 year old cousin has had a double hipper and she can still walk the boots off most teenagers.
