the cardiff blues openside had an impressive game against connaught and should be in line to start against the Dragons. After being tipped for the top a couple of years ago he finally seems to have came out from the principality premiership wilderness where his reviews have been mixed at best. Can he go further and seriously challenge sam warburton for his clubs openside shirt?

He should replace Martyn as backup at least. He will have competition from Thomas Young who the management seemed to favour. Navidi has the advantage of being further along in his development and he was good on the weekend.

Navidi is also an official member of the Blues squad (unlike Young or indeed Cuthbert) so they should look to use him more than last season.
