It aint looking good for him... thats what i'll say.

I haven't been paying attention to his play this year, so cant comment on what it was actually like (cant have been stellar!) but there is a chance he could be back, but possibly not as the attitude is not there

The Pats defense has been awful (I know, I originally drafted them in my league -- number 3 defense my ass). Fat Al has been a bust.

Wonder how long before Ocho follows him out the door?

The Bucs were after him a few years back, they have signed two guys to replace McCoy. Not too optimistic about signing a fat fecker like him though. Will plug some holes in the D-line at least. He better be for cheap mainly because he will probably fail.

This could be like Clayborn all over again! I'm going to click refresh until Pr4wn has replied.

Yeah, I imagine he is against this signing (I'm not for it by huge means anyway) so hopefully he is against the signging Fat Albert.

It will cost the Bucs $705,000 this year. 7 million next year if he stays. If they release him by then end of the year it won't cost them for next year.

It's a shame we couldn't get his live reaction on chat box, was easily the highlight of draft night.

Not sure it will turn out well for the Bucs, but surely it can't turn out worse than not having an experienced DT to replace McCoy with the Texans running game coming up on the schedule.

From what I can see on twitter GurTPL isn't exactly "happy" with the pick up.

I'm indifferent about it to be honest. We're not exactly paying him much and Raheem knows how to handle egos.

If it works, great. If it doesn't we bin him and he's finished. No big deal.

And I now love Clayborn.

He'll be gone by Jan.
Buccs happy paying a bowl of rice for this season but no way they'll pay $7m for next....

Wouldn't it just be like Fat Al though to realise that if he's a bust in Tampa then it may well be career over and no more decent pay days and therefore he plays like a demon for the rest of this season so that some team somewhere will give him a pay day next season?? He's the ultimate money-grabber so this scenario wouldn't surprise me.

Bucs should stay well clear of him in the long-term though - they've got a good young team there - they shouldn't be throwing poison like Fat Al into the mix for any longer than the remainder of this season.

I shared my thoughts on Haynesworth on twitter yesterday after we picked him up on waivers. I liked my tweets enough that I'm gonna copy and paste them here:

I heard that us picking up Haynesworth had nothing to do with McCoy - one of our blocking sleds needed replacing

I heard that the Bucs are using NLP and hypnosis to convince Haynesworth evert opposing QB is a giant cupcake

I heard that Haynesworth is wearing no. 95 because that's his blood/nacho cheese level

I heard that we're using Haynesworth to cover Andre Johnson this week - no-one can escape the gravitational pull

I heard that the Bucs cut S David Sims & DT John McCargo because Haynesworth takes up two roster spots

I heard that Haynesworth wanted to sign with the Bucs because he thought the GMs name was Mark Dominos and could score him some free pizza

(that last one makes more sense if you know the GMs name is Mark Dominik)

but seriously though, we were the only team to put in a waiver claim. I'm sure he must be aware that NO OTHER TEAM WANTS HIM. If he doesn't pull his finger out, he's gone from the NFL. He's due to make 6.7 million next year. It's sad to say that he only plays well if there's more money on the line, but the fact is, the Bucs could cut his ass after this season with no financial culpability, no other team will want him, and he goes without a pay cheque in 2012. If nothing else, I think that'll motivate him to move his humongous backside - pride clearly offers no motivation for him, but I think the lucre will. Worse comes to worse, even the money doesn't make him play, and we cut him, with no real financial hit at all.

And you know what? Even all that said, I'm unhappy we picked him up and personally wouldn't touch him with a 30 foot pole. No, there's no real risk financially, but I think everyone underestimates what an absolute cancer he can be in the locker room (my dad's a Skins fan so I'm very aware of what a poison he was in DC). To be honest, if I'm Rah or Dominik, I'd be unhappy Haynesworth is in the same hemisphere as Talib, Geno or T-Jack, let alone be on the same team.

“You know, he played a good game yesterday,” said Head Coach Raheem Morris, who inserted his newest player immediately into the starting lineup at the three-technique defensive tackle position. “He was excited to be in a new place and he was excited get out there and play 47 snaps. He was excited to go out there and make seven tackles for us. He played decent. He had some mistakes as well, that was expected. We had some sliding on the first series, you know, we had some things of that nature, but to go out there and play as well as he was and be effective like he was is promising and it’s something to build on with this team and the players around him.”

What did those of you who watched the game make of his debut?

He made seven tackles and was probably one of our best players on the day (though that's not really that difficult). I was pretty impressed actually, I saw a few plays where he absolutely blew up the middle of the line.

That's this week. Remember his game for us last year in Chicago?

GurTPL's post reminds me of the old 'yo mama' jokes.

Your D tackle is so fat he has a bus to himself on game day.
