The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub Empty The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub

Post by Guest Mon Nov 21, 2011 4:23 pm

Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing pictures of Rhys Priestland, Cian Healy, or the special one of Charlize Theron and Gibbo above the bar!

So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Ale cuppa coffee mug guinness cider RedWine Bubbly

Speaking of those two, would Irish regs prefer Cian Healy to be starting every game for Leinster, or will the benefit of training with van der Merwe count for more? Rhys Priestland has played second fiddle to Wellies and it doesn't seem to have done him any harm.

I don't understand why he isn't starting. He is as good if not better than Van de Merwe.

As I understand it Rava he was injured for the first match and probably didn't feature much in training that week. They prob kept him in for continuity.

I like to see Healy start in the really big games. But VD Merwe is a great opponent to have for his place. Does not let us down. On the contrary, he strengthens us. Its a 23 man game now. So Id use them both to suit certain types of games. As with Reddan and Boss. Want to see the same happen with Cronin and Strauss. Hagan and Ross. Madigan & Sexton.

Fierce competition is better all round, and for all concerned. For the club and the players. Not to mention the fans.

wow, chuffed for Rhodri Jones, Scarlet 20yr old prop has been drafted into the Wales squad http://www.wru.co.uk/eng/news/20239.php

He's in to replace Adam Jones, he can play either side, but only started playing tight head for the Scarlets this season.

(p.s I am horrified as to how they've spelt Aberystwyth on the WRU website!)

I can't believe they spelt it 'Aberystwith,' Dreamer. That really is a shocker. It's equivalent to the RFU website saying that a player's from Durhum.

His place is as a coach Munsty. His behaviour was unacceptable. The fact he was foreign had little to do with it. The boys father also spoke to him about it. It is not a cultural norm - that is not how the boys football teams are treated over there. Why should 12 year old boys have to accept that.

BTW way I hope your only being prickly for the sake of it. I didn't see a black man/white man situation there. You style comment is one of the reasons that racism continues to exist.
