The other Friends characters

We've probably all seen every episode of Friends about 114 times and after being subjected to it again over the weekend on Comedy Central it got me thinking about which characters, aside from the 6 main characters, stood out.

You have the obvious ones like Gunther and Janice, I always thought they might have given Gunther his own spin off show, but who were your favourites? They can be one-off characters or re-curring ones.

My personal favourites were:

David - Hank Azaria. Phoebe's boyfriend in series 1 who went to Minsk. He was hilarious! Great actor and great character.

The guy that Alec Baldwin played - Can't remember his name but he was Phoebe's date in 1 episode and was so over enthusiastic about everything.

The best however, in my opinion, was Eddie. Chandlers room-mate when Joey moved out. They should of made him a regular. He was brilliantly funny.

Anyway, over to you.

I loved the Alec Baldwin, Pheobe's boyfriend character

My other favourite was Emily's dad - played by Tom Conti. He was brilliant.

I really liked Brad Pitt's character too - I really thought that wouldn't work at all. But it did.

Yeh I thought he was going to be rubbish but it suited him really well.

The I hate Rachel club

I watch Friends on Comedy Central, and can't really believe just how good it was. 24 episodes a series, 10 series - and almost faultless.

Ross & Monica's dad is funny.

Also Rachel's dad.

Mr Eckles(sp) was a good character to.

Danny De Vito as the male stripper.

Rachel's Sister(christina Applegate), wasnt a fan of Reese Witherspoon.

Oh Yeah Bruce Willis was great to I thought.

Pheobe's boyfriend (or did they get married?) was pretty funny. Mike I think his name was.

I love the Mike and Ross episode, where they are left alone in Ross' flat and it's really awkward

I can believe nobody has mentioned Eddie, Chandlers mental roommate when Joey moved out, him and his dried fruit were brilliant

Eddie was excellent.

Ben Stiller's character was also very good, the mental boyfriend of Rachel, but only Ross ever saw him getting angry.

Mr Eckles was definitely one of the best.

I always liked Mike, but I do like Paul Rudd so that's probably why. His dead pan delivery is always funny.

I absolutely loved Friends, it is one of those programs you could a hundred times and know the next line yet still laugh out loud at the joke. Superb writing.

Mike was one of my favourites, but the best was Ben Stiller's character. So so funny

Joey's agent, Estelle I think her name was.

She was quite amusing.

No ones mentioned Phoebes half brother, Frank Jr played by Somebody Ribisi. He always made me chuckle.

AS already mentioned, Eddie was awesome (who knew his surname was Menuek?)

Here is a list of all the characters - the only one missing is Mac (r was it cheese) - the robot costar from Joeys sitcom! Those scenes creased me up too!

eddie, and alec baldwin's character were my favourites.

I actually didnt like Phoebe's half brother.

Probably the only guest character I wasnt a fan of.

The guy that played Rachel's younger boyfriend(cant remember his name), worked in the same office as her.

The actor Eddie Cahill, is now on CSI New York, he was ok.

Not trying to be a langer but it is Mr.Heckles, not Eckles. Treeger had his moments too. I liked Joey's dad in one of the episodes he was in.

Hehe, Ugly Nakd Guy was awesome, did anybody buy the friends game that came out for PS2, I never got a question wrong, a bit sad, I know...

I think I liked all the characters but Eddy (Chandlers Room mate) was the best for me, such a nutter. Was never a fan of Gunther which is strange that no one has said him.

Also, OOOOOHHHH, Maaayyyyyyy, GAWWWWWWWD! How could no one have mentioned Janice?

Jon Favreau who played him is very funny, was great in Couples Retreat.

he was funny, the ultimate fighting champion epsidoes were funny.

As far as one off appearance characters go Brad Pitt's was brilliant, that is one of my favourite episodes.
The funniest regular 'other' character has to be Mike!

The funniest one off appearance for me is as mentioned above is Alec Baldwin's character.

When Phoebe said she didnt want to be with him anymore.
He left her apartment, then knocked on the door when she opened it.

"Isnt this the best break up you've ever had".

Jon Lovitz had two brilliant cameos. The one where he is on the date with Rachel is priceless.

I liked Doug, Chandler butt smacking alcoholic foul mouthed boss - "hey there sports fan!".

Got to be Eddie, when he puts the fish in his pocket as he leaves Chandlers screaming "If you think your keeping my fish,you are insane Jack!!"

Saw an episode the other night and Charlie Sheen appeared as a boyfriend of Phoebe's that hooked up with her every time he got back off a tour in the Navy. She had just caught chicken pox so it didn't work out very well for her. Fell asleep shortly after he showed up so I'm not sure what happened next.

Forgot, Gary oldman was ok in the episode with joey.
