Whats A Tri-cast Challenger ?
Hi people, how you all doing
Please excuse my ignorance, but I know absolutely nothing about fishing, and I have no idea
what this is for.
okay... one of my neighbours has moved abroad and left me with a load of stuff out of his garage,
which he reckons is quite sellable, and we are splitting any profits from it. The majority of it was
golf related stuff and most of it I've already sold on ebay, but I can't find out anything about this
Tri-cast Challenger 8.00 Metre
It looks to me like a long graphite pole in 7 sections.
Then there is another 2 sections connected together by some green elastic.
If anybody can give me a clue of what its for, and if its worth anything, I'd be most grateful.
many thanks

Re: Whats A Tri-cast Challenger ?
Hi Ronin
As to it's worth, I have no idea. You may want to look up what they are from new, and half that or something.
It is a pole though, as you rightly guessed, used mainly for match-fishing, though the sections with the elastic can be changed for a stronger elastic and then used at carp fisheries for example, which are a fair bit bigger and stronger than many fish likely to be caught on a canal.
Hope that helps.

Re: Whats A Tri-cast Challenger ?
Am I right in thinking that with something like this, you wouldn't be using a normal reel ??
many thanks

Re: Whats A Tri-cast Challenger ?
That's correct, yeah. You have something called a 'rig' which is essentially a length of line, with the float and hook already attached, that is wrapped around a plastic holder. When you set up the pole, you'll notice there is a small clip at the end of the elastic that protrudes from the end, and the line is simply attached to this.
