Fantasy GM Mock draft selections updated 30/01/2012

Last year when the board was in it's infancy we did a fantasy mock draft, this year I am thinking we could do the same again this year, but will look to start it early, as I would like to see if we can get through 7 rounds.

To make this more fun, and a bit different (if we can get 32 different GM's which will help more if not 16 will help) I propose that you can trade picks, for 2012 picks only(not players on rosters) rather than just pick up the best ranked player with your pick.

You are the GM of your team and if your a Skins fan and looking for that elusive franchise QB make a deal with the Rams and move up.

Deals will be based on true NFL draft value chart, I will try to act also as a Commish updating the main Fantasy Draft thread, (there will be 2 threads this one where guys can put their names down and general chat and make trades and a sticky which will just be the main draft board which will be the official who has been picked) if there is strong response in numbers then the commish could go the person who ends up with the Raiders as they do not have a pick until the 4th round.

ideally it will be 1st in for your team choice if you miss out you can add a 2nd choice

Browns please, was good last year but hopefully we can get past the second round though I may struggle by the time we get to the later rounds. I can try to build up some interest from twitter if we aren't getting enough names down.

Was a lot of fun last year, not sure how well I will do after the first 2 rounds but will do some research.

1st choice - 49ers
2nd choice - Texans

I'm up for this, followed the draft quite a bit last year and plan to do so again this year:

1st choice - Titans
2nd choice - Rams

I should add that I'd rather wait until the Combine to kick it off, but I suppose the top half of the first round should be relatively straight forward without seeing any of that.

makes sense if we get enough GM's then 1st 16 is predictable, 2nd round can commence after the combine

Dont we have to wait for the combine for the final draft order to be decided.

Draft order will be decided once the Superbowl is over, atm its just the Pats and Giants pick position to be decided, though I'd like to wait until the Combine is over to start our draft as it can have some serious implications - i.e. Julio Jones shooting up the draft boards after going beastmode at the combine.

I read that ties where the schedule strength is identical are broken with a coin toss at the combine? So Dolphins/Panther are either 8 or 9 and the Chiefs or Seahawks are either 11 or 12.

Eh, since the Packers have been taken, any chance I could be the Bengals (first choice) or Rams (second choice)?

I agree with Thunder & Lightning. Any dead ties are done by coin toss at the Combine and according to those posting above their are two of those this year

I'll take the Rams preferably or the Falcons, although I might struggle once we get past 3rd/4th round.

That's fine after the 3rd or 4th rounds its all a guess anyway and NFL.com will put up rankings so if you know the positions you want they'll help you out, or at least they did have the rankings last year.

there are all sorts of resources, but I doubt we will get past around 4 rounds simply because it will become a case of almost everyone taking a stab in the dark!
Just need to find places that do 7 round mocks online like Walterfootball.com

I'm interested. The 49ers would have been 1st choice but don't mind settling for either the Dolphins or the Redskins.

This was brilliant last year, I was really annoyed to miss out. Given that my beloved Packers have already been taken I'll gladly pick for my favourite of the AFC teams the Buffalo Bills.

The "Ahem..." was because it was me who pointed it out, and I wanted the credit.

I'll try to tweet this out to some people tomorrow night to get all the teams filled but we do still have time before the order is finalised, and I'm sure some of us can handle two teams if it's required though of course it would be preferable to have all the teams with different GMs.

We didn't allow any trades last year. Seemed too complicated.

I can see how trading would be complicated to monitor, but it was one of the things that enticed me to do it. I think it would add to the experience.

I think trading would be a waste in the 1st round because you can't give up picks for furure years or players. If anyone was looking to move even 10 places in the 1st round, in the real draft, a 1st or 2nd for the following year would be required. Maybe trading would be easier in rounds 3-7
