Following on from other threads to make the RL section easier to follow, we know have this thread. So all news etc from what is in my opnion the best league in RL, views and other things that people want to add or put across about the Aussie/New Zealand leagues, please feel free to put in here.

Parramatta's remarkable skipper Nathan Hindmarsh has announced that this year will be his last. After a fantastic career that has spaned 15 years, and over 300 games, all for the Eels.

Melbourne's Cooper Cronk has signed a 4 year deal to remain at the club.

New Zealand Warriors utility Lewis Brown will be leaving the club at the end of this year. After agreeing a 3 year deal with the Penrith Panthers.

A potential white night has gone public with his intentions to save financially stricken NRL club the Gold Coast Titans.
Billy Rae has said that his consortium are deadly series in there take over bid. Meanwhile media reports say that Scott Hill & 5 other buisness men are a rival consortium to take over the Titans.

Great finish to the first game... the Dragons scored in the closing stages to win 28-24. The Roosters looked as though they had the game sewn up but 2 late tries by St George-Illawarra made for an exciting finish.

I thought it was dodgy that Paul Gallen got off that knee charge. Seems he can do no wrong. From the same guy who tried to rip stitches off Anthony Laffranchi.

He's no doubt required for the S.O.O. but really, he should have got a suspension for that. He can do no wrong in the NRL judiciary's eyes!

Also, Michael Jennings has no chance of a return to the NSW side now he's been dropped by Ivan Cleary (for disciplinary reasons) to the President's Cup side.

I haven't followed him closely Kenny but he comes across as a pretty reliable, involved type of player who can either set up or score points himself. Seems quite consistent but I think he's had a few injuries. He's on his way back now though and still shows promise.

NSW State Of Origin side has just been announced for Game 1 at Etihad Stadium, Melbourne on May 23.

1. Brett Stewart (Manly-Warringah)
2. Akuila Uate (Newcastle)
3. Michael Jennings (Penrith)
4. Josh Morris (Canterbury-Bankstown)
5. Jarryd Hayne (Parramatta)
6. Todd Carney (Cronulla-Sutherland)
7. Mitchell Pearce (Sydney Roosters)

13. Greg Bird (Gold Coast)
11. Luke Lewis (Penrith)
12. Glenn Stewart (Manly-Warringah)
8. James Tamou (North Queensland)
10. Paul Gallen (Cronulla-Sutherland)
9. Robbie Farah (Wests-Tigers)

14. Ben Creagh (St George-Illawarra)
15. Jamie Buhrer (Manly-Warringah)
16. Trent Merrin (St George-Illawarra)
17. Tony Williams (Manly-Warringah)

Jennings is the first player ever to be called up from NSW President's Cup having played for the Windsor Wolves on the weekend.

Lots of Manly players but no Anthony Watmough? Tony Williams' selection is a surprise considering he is serving a long suspension.
Jamie Buhrer's selection a real bolter but the kid has got what it takes at this level hopefully.

Queensland will name their side tomorrow morning.

What's going on? They should move up on Thurston quicker and cut out his options. That's twice he's done that with Uate getting drawn inside exposing the tryline.

Personally I thought Uate gifted two tries by coming off his man, leaving Boyd as the got to man.
What did you think of the Inglis try? For all the times we've seen fullbacks from Ridge to Slater dislodge the ball over line and its been called lost ball.

Anyway Full time 18-10,NSW will want to pull one back inSydney.

Yeah, it looked like he dropped it... but the refs thought otherwise. Don't understand it. He lost possession (knocked on) and then regathered it to score?

Anyway, NSW made some silly mistakes at critical times. Qld really have the wood on us.... it's painful to watch "Gal" lose it in the dying minutes. Colourful language there! Laugh

For mine Paul Gallen and Brent Tate pulled out big games, I was very disappointed in a number of the big Quensland forwards, it was their lighter men Myles, and when they came on Gillet and Ashley Harrison they did all the hard work,if not I could see Nsw running up the centre.

A good acquisition for them... he'll fit in well at Souths I feel.

A big win for them after a shaky 1st half. They made a great start scoring 2 quick tries but then let in 3 tries for Canberra before HT.
But in the 2nd half they did well to finish it off. 36-18

Melbourne beat Brisbane 34-10 in the game at AAMI.

You know I was thinking exactly that a few hours ago watching the game.

Souths have some massive players and they do seem to be improving this year. Their whole approach to the game is getting better too and they are winning those close games they may have lost in the past few years.

Can they go all the way? Maybe... but it will have to be a phenomenal run home. I still think Melbourne, Brisbane, Manly and Canterbury will be top 4 with...

the Sharks, Cowboys, Tigers, Rabbitohs... and maybe Warriors to fight for 5th-8th places.

last night Inu turned out for the Bulldogs against The Roosters, and in the process scored two tries and kicked three goals.
