Also why is Alain Rolland reffing an Irish v Welsh team in such an important match?

I was thinking the same. Two outside halves and no one in the pocket. Maybe each was expecting the other to do it.

I don't think the forwards had a clue or Tavis Knoyle. Awful decision making at such a crucial time. All that hard work to come back and the match was there!

Scarlets were sloppy and lazy throughout. The usual bursts of real momentum impeded by a sea of errors and refusal to prevent carriers getting isolated.

They and the other regions (bar maybe the Ospreys under Tandy thus far) aren't looking to give it 80 mins. Too often we've seen them plodding through games and trying to snatch it at the death and too often it has failed and cost them vital games. I blame the coaches.

Rolland was poor but never the reason the Scarlets didn't win tonight.

Rolland is French - he's neutral.

Better than having an full-Irish/Welsh or Scottish ref in the middle. They could all be accused of bias towards a team.

One of them should have took control. Two international players and neither of them had the courage to go for it. One of them should have dropped in the pocket, they had great position.

Their both poor at drop goals, how many has Priestland attempted for Wales, how many has he scored?

Its more to do with the referee's individual style than where the ref is from, Clancy would have penalised Munster at the breakdown for several different offences, the Real top teams know how to play the ref not depend on having a certain type of ref.
I personaly find ref's are more likely to be biased toward the oposition than their own country for fear of been called biased.
The 1 consisntent with all off the ref's outside England is they have a style they stick to.

What makes a team succesfull is been able to play differernt styles, At the moment we still only have a plan A at the Scarlets.
