Oh God Glammy really need to knock off these last 29 runs with just 2 wickets remaining. Wallace got 27 and got out, needed him to guide us to they're total. Got a feeling that the last wicket partnership is gonna cost Glamorgan

WELL BOWLED YOUNG CRADDOCK
5-96 from 19 overs, expensive but he's only 18 year old legspinner so well bowled young man.

George Dockrell is only 19 and he took 6-29.
Somerset now 73-2 and look to have gained control of this game, and will look to wrap it up probably first session tomorrow.

Somerset get a cracking win in over Durham inside three days at Taunton. Take a bow young Dockrell as you were the key to this victory. Great performance.
Although on twitter, Craig Kieswetter has just said that George has proclaimed "he takes six fers for fun". One too many Thatchers Gold I think!

JD - not too surprised. As mentioned last week, I was very impressed by Dockers when he was bowling then at the Oval. Maybe not a massive spinner of the ball but plenty of guile with subtle variations in flight and pace. A good temperament as well, remaining calm as the Surrey batsmen tried to get after him.JDizzle wrote:Somerset get a cracking win in over Durham inside three days at Taunton. I'm sure he's too sensible to expect a sixfer every time. I just hope his supporters and the media also realise that and don't hype up a young talent too much too soon. He's already doing well. With the right encoragement, he'll go even further.

Re: County Championship Round 8 Discussion Thread
I'm sure, judging from some of the tweets, that all of Somerset team are enjoying their victory and not perhaps in their regular state of mind any more due to excessive cider intake! And they should enjoy it, it was a great win. From the way Dockrell bowls I would imagine that he is far, far too level headed to let it all get to his head. There is enough experienced players at Somerset to make sure that doesn't happen anyway.
Ha. I've heard about this Batty kid. Got plenty of potential.

A fantastic match for Middlebrook. A century as a stand-in opener and a fivefer in Gloucs' second innings to win the game with time almost up.guildfordbat wrote:Interesting top and tail to the Northants team for their match against Gloucs.
Slow bowler James Middlebook is opening the batting whilst the number eleven spot goes to paceman Dave Burton.
I like Burton and wish him well. He just won't give up on his hopes of a cricket career. He's coming up to 27 now and has played for almost every county second eleven on the circuit without ever establishing himself at one. I saw him play for Surrey seconds at Guildford a couple of years ago when he blew away a young Essex side with eleven wickets in the match. Soon after that, he was bizarrely released!
Meanwhile, Middlebrook doing well on 24 not out as Northants reach 63 without loss. To be fair, he did make some good scores last year although I thought that would be a one off season for him.
Just 13 overs and one wicket for Burton. He's used to that and won't give up.

Threw it away Glammy, lost wickets at crucial times. Seems like we are gonna be relying on North this year to make big scores. If only he could have converted on of his starts into a 100

CF - it really looks like you should have hung on to Middlebrook and Chopra.CF wrote:humilitaing result for essex!

To be fair, they both looked very ordinary on the odd occasion I saw them playing for Essex.
