606 Winter Eclectic Competition 2010/2011 - THE RESULT

The final results are in for the keenly fought 606 Winter Eclectic Competition.

There have been a number of leaders and some valiant attempts. Some have done themselves physical harm in striving for that last birdie and the chance of renaming themselves. Some have not quite managed to complete the course, but it has always been a bit of fun, even if the weather has restricted or in some cases curtailed play.

As stated in a previous thread, I have taken the virtual 606 course to be a par 72 and any scores submitted from a course that was lower than that, would be subject to a pro rata divisor. This is to try and ensure a level playing field and sort out positions.

So, without further ado, the positions are:-

2) Doc – 16 under par
3) TheShanker – 15.78 under par
4)1GrumpyGolfer – 12.64 under par
5) LondonJonnyo – 12 under par
6) Mercurio – 11.33 under par
7) Drives4Show – 10.69 under par
8) NoShankinTonight – 9.86 under par - (I'm not sure where the cool symbol came from, it's not in my text)
9) TheSetupdeterminesthemotion – 9.58 under par
10) SmithersJones – 9 under par
11) Rossa – 8.75 under par
12) Maverick – 7.89 under par
13) GolferMartin – 5.5 under par
14) OPW – level par

I therefore declare JDandFries the winner of the 2010/2011 606 Winter Eclectic Competition and consequently permitted to change name if wanted to:

Thank you for everyone who joined in the fun and maybe we could get the mods. on 606v2, where this will be copied to and maybe even continued, to put some sort of board up for JD to allow him to bask in his glory and Lord it over us mere mortals!

Well done mate, congratulations no real hard feelings from me And thanks to Oldshanks for taking the time to mange it (Even if he can't count) Lets see if we can get something else organised for later when we have courses that run again, and we get all the cripples back

I'm applying for a rounds completed divisor.

Well done JD&F this will teach me to submit my cards in the required timescale for things such as this especially have just found 3 cards in my bag i did for this oh well! Considering I ony played 2 rounds that counted and off 0 im happy with that.

Congrats OS on a nicely run contest and to JD for winning. Hopefully I'll be fit enough to be able to commit to playing next time!

Davie - I was thinking of something at the top of the page rather like the competition boards in a clubhouse. However, I have no idea if that is possible.

That's a nice idea but sadly the forum format doesn't allow it (at the moment)

Some sort of 606 club honours board ... hmmmm

Maybe when we get a few more winners in various competitions (fantasy leagues, predictions contests etc) then a locked, sticky thread would do the job

JDandFries that is some magnificent scoring to manage to birdie every hole except one.
