London members summer meet up 29 th June.

First topic message reminder :

We are proposing to have another get together on Friday 29th June. Our first port of call will be the historic Warrington Hotel, 93 Warrington Crescent, Maida Vale, W9 from 5pm. Exit Maida Vale station turning left and walk down about 300 yards to the junction, then turn right. The pub is on the roundabout.

At around 6:30pm we will head off around Warrington Crescent and may stick our noses in at The Prince Alfred, Formosa Street, W9 for a pint. Nearest tube is Warwick Avenue and the pub is just north of the station.

The plan is then to be in The Warwick Castle, Warwick Place W9 (by Little Venice) for about 19:00. Nearest tube is Warwick Avenue (left hand exit) and walk up to Warwick Place on your right.

'tis a shame we won't be in London at that time as I could have dragged my better half along and enjoyed several pints of the foaming ale with you all. But we won't be in London until August and that will be for the Olympics (our tickets came in the post yesteday..!! Woo hoo..!!)

I propose, though, that if there is to be a meet next year, that it take place on the south side of the river where the real rugby fans are.

Thom would be welcome too, if he were over here at that time, after all, it must be pretty lonely going on a meet all by himself (tongue in cheek).

Jen - so long as a future S. London meet up is around Borough/London Bridge that should be no problem as it would be fairly easy for most people to get home.

It may be 'cool' Hoog, but is there any decent ale now that The Bricklayers seems to have gone downhill?

To be honest Hound, i'm not sure there is anywhere that really stands out (thats said as a resident), plenty of youngs around of course though...

There is very good rugby pub in Wimbledon on a park with a lot barbeque outside in the garden bar. Is always there full of south african fan make the outside grill on the sunny day.

With great regrettability I have to tell you that I'm not make it on tomorrow meeting because I have to go away on the short holiday with my new girlfriend since is a good opportunity of no rugby going on the weekend!

But I hope is work out well and not too raining and remember me to invite next time.

Lovely evening, great to see everyone on such fine form. Hoog's reprisal of his starring role in will live long in the memory, rather like when he crashed and burned with the barmaid who suddenly had a "husband"! Must do another one before the start of the season

Yip was a great night guys thanks. and for those later at the Castle who brought me drinks sorry I did not reciprocate but defo will make up for it next one, the night ran out for me before I got round to it.
