Anyone seen this yet?

It's a huge shame to lose such a key player just before a key series, to something so unfortunate. Hopefully he can make a full recovery in time and keep playing for SA.

According to TMS, Mark Boucher goes under the knife today to see whether he gets the sight in that eye back.

Ouch.

Best wishes, Mr Boucher.

They are going to put some fluid in his eye, to get the blood moving, and then will see if any sight comes back..

however he may go under months of suregery etc to regain some sight..

Cowshot - your own medical training comes across clearly in your post. Rolling Eyes

Anyway, as you say, best wishes to him.

Also adds to the mystique of the number 99 in cricket - Bradman 99.99 average etc. Of course Murali could easily have finished with 799 wickets, and Tendulkar was on 99 100s for a long time.

Did anyone here the lunchtime TMS discussion about the eye? Apparently his entire eyeball had exploded, the surgeon described it as one of the worst injuries of its type he'd seen, but fortunately the retina had not been damaged. The operation went well and they are hopeful he will see again.

good to hear the operation went well..

however like i said earlier he will undergo months of exploratory suregeries as explained by medics beforehand to understand full extent of problem and to make sure he recovers full sight in that eye.
