Cleverley plays like Cattermole just runs into people as if he's making a rugby spear tackle

Re: Team GB
It's so odd that Pearce chooses to play Richards at centre back, I'm 99% sure it's because that's what Richards played when Pearce was at City....5 years ago.
I think the selections of Danny Rose are odd as well, whenever he plays for Spurs he's always playing left back. I think Sinclair would be a much better option.

Senegal are playing just as well as England although they are not keeping possession very well

I just had a look at the men's volleyball side to compare, and there's no Welsh or Northern Irish players in their side. Just two Scottish. One Nigerian, a Canadian and an American. That's even worse than the Team GB football side.

It's like a library at Old Trafford. Why did the crowd bother turning up if all they were going to do is read a book?

Do you honestly think that?
I think the defence has been set up oddly, with two out of four playing in not their usual positions. I don't rate Rose really and I think as a lone striker Daniel Sturridge leaves a lot to be desired.

I was just about to write that. These kids (and Giggs and Belamy) hold the ball well and are confident withit on the ground. They appreciate the simple thing hat giving the ball to your team mate is the best way of keeping possession.
The play the ball and don't assault it at every given opportunity.

what team you support freekshow? all the big games the place is jumping, simple maths that 76,000 will make more noise than smaller stadiums. north and south are abit rubbish but east and west are great. dont confuse your self from whats on tv either, for some reason they stick the mics in front of the away fans. the amount of times ive been to the game (east stand quite near away fans) and havnt heard any of the away fans only to watch the game back on tv and only hear the away fans.
monday nights etc can be quiet but which ground isnt, ive been to stoke few times and the atmosphere was rubbish. although it was when they were in league 1!!

Isn't that the English problem? Preferring the strong and quick to the small and technical?
This game has really fizzed out, it's almost like a friendly at the moment.

C&R, Liverpool mate. It's just banter buddy.
Strange that they stick mics in front of the away fans because at times the atmosphere does appear morbid.
Fratton Park (which holds around 18,000) during the Pompey PL days was beastly in terms of noise. Probably the best away atmosphere I have experienced.

I thought the UAE were very good today also. They looked comfortable on the ball and were excellent in the first half.

You've also got to take into account that if you have a bigger stadium, a lot of the fans won't be hardcore, where as in a smaller stadium, you're likely to get a lot more hardcore fans.

yeah, thats why north and south are poor its full of prawn sandwich, familes and day trippers. two ends behind the goals are much better. but uniteds away follwing is great for making noise, purely because its full of hardcore element. with that though we also get into alot of trouble for behaviour

Re: Team GB
The one player in this game I don't want to see taking tackles like that.
That's not only a penalty, but a red card really. Even in the Premier League that would be a red card usually.
We should start putting in some of the same tackles.

I don't think so, Senegal have been at least as good if not better than Team GB for most of the game, certainly the second half.

Re: Team GB
Hahaha! I see team GB are exactly the same as England. Score a goal ...sit back, dont press.
Even Pearce is doing what all other England managers do...Giggs CM? Erm yes because he has always played their hasn't he.
Should of played Cleverely & Allen in the middle with Rose out right, Giggs left, Sturridge & Bellamy as strikers.
Hopeless bunch...at least they will be used to what life in an England strip will be like I suppose!
