American Idol

Has anyone been watching it this year?

It has really benefitted from Simon Cowell leaving the show - the way the show is working this year just seems to make it look better quality.

From the judges (Steven Tyler, JLo and Randy Jackson) to the way that the acts are being mentored by real music producers, it just has a better feel to it.

It was quite a shocking eviction this week (if not the greatest shock on all of the reality shows ever) - one of the favourites was voted off at the 9 contestant stage.

Out of the acts left, I feel that there are only a few who could possibly win:

James Durbin
Casey (seth Rogan lookalike)
Scotty (country and western dude)
Jacob Lusk

Anybody else watching?

Casey Abram should have won, can't believe I missed this thread when the show was actually one!!

I thought James was the best. Scotty had the advantage that he was the only Classic Country artist when nearly a half of Americans love that stuff, and everbody else wa competing for votes from the remaining two thirds or so.

Amen to that - incredible legs on her.

All the women were sexy this year - even the Rasta girl.

As hot as the female contestants are no American Idol girl comes close to Carrie Underwood.

Just listening to some Chris Daughtry, crazy to think he finished 6th

Daughtry was good but let himslef down on queen week from memroy (sang Innuendo).

Bo Dice was my favourite contestant in that style of singer.

Haley or Casey should have won. The 2 in the final were awful.

Of course they were!

I didn't bother watching the final. I do like country music but not the sort of stuff Scotty was singing, I like modern pop-rock country music like Keith Urban, Daughtry and Taylor Swift.

Also a few others on that list from previous series really surprised me!

I'm surprised that Michael Johns and Carly Smithson didn't hook up. They were close on the show and have done a lot of gigs together since.
