A very interesting set of fixtures here.
Notts v Durham could have implications at both ends of the table, whilst Worcs v Lancs has thrown up some fascinating matches over the last couple of years.
Yorks v Derbys is critical at the top of Division Two.

Derbyshire chose to bowl first at Headingly probably due to out batting line-up looking extremely short.
On-loan Sussex wk Andrew Hodd makes his first appearance for Yorkshire. Sidebottom returns after a few months out but Steve Harmison is still injured and Root, Bairstow and Bresnan are on England duty.

excellent start for glammy after winning the toss and electing to bat. walters and bragg put on an excellent stand with both passing 50. bragg just been dismissed for a very well played 54/115 balls. walters still there on 62 with north now at the crease. hopefully we can put on a big 1st innings score and capitalise on this excellent start.

Perhaps timely that on a day of yet another abject batting collapse by Surrey one of their former batsmen, Walters (aka "the Walking Wicket") scored 129* for Glam.

I was just about to post on identical lines. Very pleased for Stewie Walters. Despite the cruel tag of ''the Walking Wicket'', he always showed great determination and was generally a popular figure at the Oval.

walters has had a decent season for glammy, and yesterday shows how much hard work and determination can go. Just hope he can bat past 150 so Glammy can score 400+ and put Essex in. Slightly disappointed North couldn't hang around but hopefully Wright can get a 50 and support stewie little longer.

Onions takes 9 wickets plus gets a run out. Presumably meant as a gentle nudge to the selectors.....

I'd have had him in for Lord's, but I guess Finn hasn't gone too badly.

Derbyshire following on against Yorkshire. If they'd have got 3 more runs this match would have been a draw, as it is Yorkshire can win this game.

Good finish in prospect in Notts v Durham - Notts need 112 with 6 wickets left.
Meanwhile Surrey beat Middlesex by 8 runs in a nailbiter....

Durham seem on a good roll.
Looks increasingly like 2 of Surrey (despite today's win), Lancs and Worcs will be for the drop. Middlesex may also be feeling anxious although I think they've already got nearly enough points in the bank ....
