Very sorry to read today of the death at 74 of Felix.
Older posters will immediately recognise the name. Others sadly won't.
Felix was Brazil's goalkeeper in the 1970 World Cup. A wonderful tournament won by a wonderful team - Brazil. They were adorned with stars who did so much to coin the phrase ''the beautiful game''. Pele obviously but others as well such as Carlos Alberto, Clodoaldo, Gerson, Tostao and Jairzinho.
I think it's fair to say that Felix wasn't quite at that level. However, at the age of 32 he was the oldest player in the Brazilian squad and the experience he brought to the tournament was much praised by his captain Carlos Alberto.
Not quite a football great but definitely an important member of a very great (some would say the greatest) team.
