Joking aside, I'd say that Castillo only gets "thrown" at Floyd when he's being compared to some seriously impressive company - in this case, on the captain's thread, it's Whitaker. When the margins are wafer-thin, it's only natural that posters are going to have to scrape the barrel to find ways of separating great fighters. If it's minor things such as the first Castillo fight which, in the opinion of the poster, helps to make the difference, then so be it.

Think you may be right about Floyd, although obviously wrong about Woods and Nicklaus, Truss! The day that Woods wins a major from any position other than the front, I might start re-thinking, but for now, the man who not only won 18 majors, about half of them when making a charge from behind, but also came second on a further 19 occasions, will have to do at the top of my list of golfers, with Tiger the clear number 2.

Why shouldn't we use Castillo against mayweather, it's not like you do the same with conn/louis or mercer/Lewis amongst various others. He's a borderline top 10 fighter so naturally we have to be as critical as possible.

I hold Mercer against lewis yes..Holmes beat him much easier...But I accept that the victory is Lewis albeit contentiously..

Agree with you Trussman I thought Floyd nicked it, although won't argue with the Castillo crowd either.

To me Castillo winning was more clear cut than Marquez beating pacquiao. Floyd won at best 4 rounds, he out worked, out landed and out thought.

Castillo lost 4 of the first 5 rounds...Mayweather had a ripped rotator cuff.

Close but clear Mayweather win...Mayweather put the record straight in the second fight.
