Shockwave - when robots meet wrestling!

We’ve seen this time and time again. Whether it’s Skynet upgrading their T-100s to T-2000s, Red Tornado being rebuilt for the millionth time, or Michael Jackson turning into a spaceship to take out Joe Pesci’s goons in Moonwalker; robots are constantly being upgraded to tackle challenges that would normally be too great for them to handle. For Shockwave, the robot that is also a professional wrestler, the upcoming ECWA Super 8 Tournament on April 30th is just such an occasion where an upgrade may be needed. Observe…

I hope the other competitors in this tournament are taking this thing as seriously as Shockwave The Robot, or they may be casualties in the war of man against machine. What possible advancements will we see from Shockwave?

1. LASER EYES: This should be a given. It’s hard to imagine a situation where blasting someone with laser eyes is a bad idea. Furthermore, it’s hard to imagine an opponent bringing a better weapon. Steel chair? Kendo stick? Laser eyes melt puny man-made items. Unless the opponent also has laser eyes to counter Shockwave’s laser eyes in a laser eye battle, Shockwave will have the immediate advantage.

2. ROCKET FISTS: In boxing, an important factor in a match is the length of each fighter’s reach. While The Super 8 isn’t boxing, a reach advantage could still prove useful. With rocket fists, you can hit your opponent anywhere in the building. The only drawback is rocket fist only works once. Then you are left handless. Shockwave could install some sort of flamethrower device in his hand stump though. I assume his opponents aren’t fireproof like he is.

3. GRAVITATIONAL MAGNIFIER: Increases your weight to 5 tons. Let’s see someone try to kick out of that!

4. SHOCKWAVE PULSE: This is a cool one, as it’s named after Shockwave. If an opponent goes to the top rope, a pulse can trigger that will shake the ring like a miniature earthquake. This will cause the opponent to slip and crotch themselves on the turnbuckles. Then Shockwave can go for the Superplex! Or just blast them with laser eyes.

5. ATOMIC NULLIFIER: No matter how valiantly a robot battles, sometimes the odds can overwhelm them. In the unfortunate event that Shockwave feels he may lose a match, he can activate this device. It will trigger a nuclear blast that will level New Jersey. Sometimes sacrifices have to be made…for wrestling.

Bionic Boots

With mini spaceship rocket launchers and once activated, they send Shockwave across the ring at the speed of light delivery the most lethal spear known to mankind.

Super magnets - for anyone who tries to bring a chair into the ring, he can zap it to him to use.

Atomic cod piece - stop any low blows (do robots have genitals?)

Electronic metal pants dropper - in case he needs to lighten the mood with a flairesque arsebearing

retractable scalpel to blade himself. My God! The Blood- I mean Oil!

Been looking up some of the Shockwave stuff on Youtube and he's brilliant!
