Phil Hughes
Tamim Iqbal
Darren Bravo
Chehtweshar Pujara/Kohli
Shakib Al Hasan
Mushfiqur Rahim(WK/C)
Nasir Hossain/Kohli
Tim Southee
Sohag Gazi
Kemar Roach
Steven Finn
Kohli can replace Pujara or Nasir, but the other two have player better than Kohli in test matches, Kohli however has impressed massively in ODI's
Better team
Relatively experienced players, Shakib, Rahim, Southee and Tamim got experience

Maybe because he plays for NZ. He wouldn't get into the England side ahead of Finn.CF wrote:boult is established in NZ test side

Re: Best young test XI UNDER 25
Isn't Kohli under 25 still? A must surely, as is Shakib IMO...
Finn, obviously.
I do hope english supporters aren't going to turn on Root the first time he does something silly. You do seem to be building him up quite a bit. Looks a very good organised player, but it's early days yet...

A general point. I think fans can be very knee-jerky. Root seems to be all the flavour at the moment, I just hope people don't decide he's rubbish the first time he gets a couple of low scores.

Re: Best young test XI UNDER 25
I picked Root because I think he's a potentially good player. Not because he is the best thing since sliced bread and there are hardly any options for U25 openers, as it is. Tamim has been very poor of late.

Root does look like a good player and may end up opening, long term.

Isnt the team about how good they are now as a player?,
.
Tamim is in poor form in test, I think averaged in mid 30's last year, but played little, he averaged about 40 in ODI's though.
Personally I think Rahim is the best keeper in the world under 25, very agile and decent batsmen who's always improving, Shakib is clearly the best player under 25 in the world in my opinion, Finn and Roach have to be up there with their bowling, Southee has to be there in my opinion because of his experience

Maybe Shakib could replace Starc.

Unlike the England selectors with bairstow?

I would have a 4 man pace attack which is not just young but is also very fast of Cummins, Pattinson, Starc and Hazlewood.
