Yes you saw it right, the long sought after footage of Vitali getting KOed in a kick boxing match has finally surfaced.
Even though Vitali himself claimed it was a rumour, the footage doesn't lie...

I said that I couldn't believe it until I saw the video as there were reports from both sides that it was a knock out or it wasn't a knock out.
It was a pretty lame fight and looked like a dirty shot by pele. Pretty sure it was a minimum contact fight yet pele did a spinning hook kick full power lol. Nice kick though.

Your correct and Pele said the same on his interview with Steve Bunce on Boxnation. Lets also remember that Pele was awarded as the winner, of the fight regardless of the KO.

Who said it was a minimum contact fight? I've seen different sources say it was at an amatuer EU championship. Hardly going to be minimum contact.

Ireliivent, kicks are not punches. Boxers with a good chin are not super humans that cant get knocked unconscious, they are just boxers whos chins can absorb fist punches.
If you get a spinning heel on your chin it is going to have more impact than a punch and any human would get knocked out by it.

What about a spinning back fist? Surely that is more powerful than any spinning hook kick? Especially if delivered by ONETWO.

Pretty much means what it says, fighters wear pads on their shins & feet and its more like a sparring session with the idea to score points, technique over brute strength being the key. vitali's kickboxing career was basically fought under these & similar rules, defo a smart move to boxing, he got paid!

Most worrying of all is that Vitali still fights with this rigid upright stance, retreats in straight lines and pulls his head back from punches. It's like he doesn't want to learn from his mistakes.

Well it's a shame for Pele Reid that this dirty fluke of a kick is his claim to fame.
I seem to remember watching on Sky the fresh faces of Danny Williams and Pele himself being tipped for stardom and potential world champions in boxing...............oh dear!
