What Is It About Andre Ward That Annoys Me Slightly?

I mean the man is a world class athlete and an elite boxer. He lives clean and loves his family. He's has morals.

So why does he annoy me so much?

The S.O.G. thing is a bit much. I mean he isn't Jesus.

Still, there's something else, what is it?

That he's popular, interesting and a high achiever ??

Yeah! I've always had a self-loathing streak and people often say I have so many qualities, many of the ones you just mentioned. Maybe it is because we are alike that way?

Although, his unwillingness to fight outside his back garden, head butt, elbow and basically cheat to victory, despite his talents, could be other reasons.

I like Ward.

Fantastic skills and knows what it takes to win a fight.

Seems like a well spoken, clean living guy too. Respectful.

Everyone has flaws if you dig deep enough.. I think it's fairer not too.

I think "The" son of god thing has gone out of hand. He means he's "a" son of god like all christians believe they are.

The only thing that annoys me slightly is his holding and headbutting but aside from that a fantastic fighter and credit to the sport. Simply sensational against Dawson.

GOD has no son.

I think people dislike him because he does not rub people up the wrong way.

Can't speak for anyone else but I simply get a bad vibe from the guy. As if beneath his clean cut exterior he'd walk over his own granny to win. It's probably the way everything he says sounds like it was written down for him a week in advance. Also his ruthless tactics in taking the fight away from his opponents with butts etc.

So wait....are we saying probably the most talented fighter besides Mayweather is a cheat and has no skill?

The guy is a future ATG, he'll wipe his backside with the SMW and Light Heavy divisions and retire undefeated.

Talent only gets you so far. Joaquin Phoenix had talent as an actor, and he been dead from drugs. R.I.P. My point being you got to use and nurture it.

regarding ward, it's his insistence to not fight outside of his backyard that annoys me.

claims to be the best but wont go up in weight to fight dawson. i dont get it, he would have got so much more praise if he became a 2 weight champ.

Ward is inactive too. And always going on about how he's the Champ so everyone needs to come to him. Well, he doesn't generate money like Froch and Kessler do. Why? Because he is bloody boring to watch. Gifted but so dull.

He has nowhere to go so if Froch wins against Kessler he has the option of another rematch.

To be fair to Ward, it was Dawsons team that approached him and wanted the fight at 168. Ward said he was happy for a catchweight but Dawson insisted 168, not his fault there.

I'm slightly confused as to why some of you think Andre Ward needs to fight outside America, after all he's an Amercian.

Secondly he's the WBA/Linear super middleweight king(WBC title stripped)

So he has the right to fight in his own country.

Must admit, that whenever I hear the American national anthem before a big vegas fight at around 0400hrs I get all patriotic, goose bumps and everything.

Ward annoys me in the fact he seems to rarely fight now, he likes home comforts a bit too much and in some ways is resting on his laurels. It'd be nice to see more of him!

Andre Ward does cheat. He head butts and elbows so much it is untrue. And he is so so so boring to watch, utterly dull. But a great fighter.
