Good work thus far from Wigan. Even if they come away with only a 2-0 loss then it's not going to hammer their goal difference. A point at Eastlands will be a great result.

We deserved our point and maybe more tonight. Can see much of the title winning spirit in Man United, they whinge like the glorious teams of Fergie's past. Sometimes you feel it's sheer psychology with Man United in games, they weren't at the races today and I don't think we let them ever get into their stride. Andy Carroll was brilliant, I think with Joe Cole in the side instead of Vaz Te (who is ok but inconsistent as hell) and someone useful instead of Nolan then we win that game. Little steps, we are newly promoted, but there's a lot to be happy about at the Boleyn.

I fear for Wigan. They usually do more by now, I think the cup is a dangerous distraction and could be their downfall.

Cazorla, Baines, Zabaleta, Michu all had better seasons. He's a pretty meh player in a good team

Defensive players don't get enough love; nearly everyone on the list's an attacking player. At the end of the day, has Michu been better than Van Persie or Suarez? No.

Attacking defenders (especially in Baines' case). I would have had Zabaleta on the list though.

Baines has been good defensively. More to the point, Carrick isn't a great defender himself

His "tackles won" percentage isn't bad. 70-odd percent.

Think Carrick has had a very good season. Hazard shouldnt be on that list. Really hard to call. RVP has gone a little quiet, but Bale and Suarez both have fired their team to the fat sum of nothing so far. Mata is wonderful, probably their best player in nearly every game.

Benteke just over Lukaku for young player

Bale has a 70 odd tackle percentage also.

I'd take any I mentioned above over Carrick who seems to get most of his credit for being in a great team.

Not really. It was obvious from the offset that those two were special players. A bit late in the day for Carrick's bandwagon to get going.

Fans of West Ham, Tottenham and United will all tell you how much they like Carrick. A player who would be vastly more appreciated by the masses if he was called Carrichio.

His distribution is beautiful, his timing of a pass delightful and he is always willing to have the ball, often only needing a second to move it on with either foot in uncomfortable situations. I always liked him at West Ham, and I was so happy he left Spurs so I could enjoy his play again. I watched him a lot on Wednesday night and he is a fantastic player to watch in close quarters.
