I feel for Wigan, their bench is pretty poor, they're going to struggle to stay in this game. I'm sure they'll hope for a late goal. They've made no changes and I think that's because they've got nobody on the bench to actually help. Watson is probably the best player on the bench...

I think Barry has to take a lot of the blame for that red card, although I don't think McManaman had as much space as Zabaleta thought.

It's the fa cup, they have to just do what they can to win.

Yes short term it may effect them and they might get relegated but they are a championship club in terms of structure etc.

Wigan really deserved that, I think a key to the game was Martinez tactically outsmarted Mancini. The three man defence really worked.

That's why he is highly rated, his tactics etc enable a weaker set of players to gold their own and win games on more than one occasion.

He's got wins over united, arsenal, city for relegation fodder.

They are inconsistent but that's a trait in weaker players.

A day for the heart ruling the head. A day for Wigan to endear themselves to every football fan in the country. A day for the magic of the cup to be restored.

It was a cracking game. Wigan went out there to play football, to match their more lucrative and technical opponents. They were the better side. This wasn't a smash and grab, it was a deserved victory over a bunch of mercenaries, followed by some glory-hunting supporters. Cheerio Mancini, I can't be happier.

Callum McManaman was superb, the best player on the pitch, what a future he has in front of him. Also impressive were Maloney, Espinoza, and Kone. Wigan's keeper too, did what was required of him, that cracking save in the first half possibly shifted the balance. Looking ahead, Martinez is now probably favourite for the Everton job. I sincerely hope Wigan stay up, they're a credit to English football.
