Alexander looks like he is tiring, I reckon Purdy will come into this fight strong from round 7 onwards but will still lose on points.

Right decision imo and Purdy might feel that way when he looks back on it, just out of his depth

Purdy may not have been hurt bad, but he was getting hit a lot and Devon is a good 12 round fighter and he would have busted him up for the rest of the fight

Matthysse and Maidana hit Alexander and he stayed up and Purdy hadn't done nearly as much damage as Matthysse did

poor by purdy imo, even if he just threw alot would have been better. if his corner are pulling him out like that you have to think that tiring alexander out by letting him throw a lot wasn't the plan, which means his plan was just plodding forward and get hit?!
