First topic message reminder :

Thought i'd create this thread as there wasn't one already.

My prediction: One of two things will happen, Australia will hammer us or we'll win on penalties.

Sexton was tucked up like a kipper, SOB was tucked up like a kipper, Phillips powder puff tackle, and North didn't stop JOC. Poor tackling indeed

His basics have been atrocious in my opinion. Box kicking everything terribly, caught at the base, taking too much time at the base, dawdling when the ref had called it a maul. I could go on. He's been abject.

He started well, but then started to go downhill and was kicking too much.

Phillips has been dreadful, Youngs would have had a field day playing off that scrum.

Pure brilliance from O'Connor

Laugh 'Two Irishmen' and Phillips the Lion let that one in.

Great try by Australia. Took some self belief to push their game back onto proceedings.

O'Connor went through Phillips.
Phillips not having a great game. Passing still too slow, kicking not good enough and a missed tackle for a try.
The pack has been immense. The intensity has been phenomenal.

Im glad Aus got a try makes it more of a game in the second half, Lions rightly in fromt but does not make for scintillating rugby

Not seen much from the centres either, Would BOD of provided more attacking skills when they have a pack giving them that platform.

Not only did Sexton miss his man he got in SOBs way. That was a disastrous end to the half. I can't believe how poor Phillips has been since he's had an armchair ride.

Roberts and Davies barely getting in the game with the tactics garland is employing. Would like to see Roberts in there more. SOB has been phenomenal this half

Australia had one man down and Lions didn't make it count. The Lions can't protect this lead. They have to emulate what they did in the first half. If they sit back and kick away too much possession, then the Wallabies will grow in confidence because they can control more the game.

Why do we have to blame players instead if giving credit to JOC's brilliance?

Martyn Williams, former Lions flanker: Everyone relax. Aussies are gone, not counting chickens, Lions just too strong.

Ben Cohen, former England winger: Watching my first Lions game and what a game the Lions are having. Shame about the Oz try. MASSIVE second half. Great game of rugby.

Now the Wallabies are within nine points, Horwill can start choosing to kick penalties to close the gap. We need better discipline and we need to stop playing so much in our own 22.

You wouldn't know we had a man advantage there for ten minutes.

You have commented every time Phillips has box kicked and nothing else............. its kinda transparent.

He has pressurised around the scrum throughout, it was his tap and run from the scrum.... pass to Bowe and then his delayed pass created the try to Corbs.

Actually Leinster watching the replay I was wrong. Sexton I flat footed and JOC danced round him. He should have done better. But the replay shows the Aussie 11 did a cracking job of blocking SOB from making the tackle.

Having déjà Vu here. Last week lions looked very sharp early on and this week it was even better. But once again they're dropping off. Australia had all the momentumn in the second quarter and got the points... just! But lions need to do more with the ball. It just feels like they're missing that special something in attack, it's all too predictable for the australian defence to deal with. Lions need to continue to dominate the set piece or else they'll struggle in my opinion. Wallabies need to give their backs more opportunities and after an awful start they looked like they were beginning to do that better towards half time.

picard i am watching the WHOLE GAME, hence why i said he started well. oh and saying i've only commented when he box kicked is a blatant lie.

The score was crucial. Australia should have been held out from a set piece move. By all means JOC did well but you can't ignore that the defence was poor.

Correct. If that had been a Lions score, the scorer would be getting applauded for 'his' role in killing the defence.

Australia playing all the rugby again.
Lions relying in their scrum.

What is with sexton trying a droppie up 19-3 and with total dominance?

Corbs getting away with serious crabbing and burrowing in as he did in the 1st half against the Boks in Novemeber 2012. Sky analysts admitted as much at half time then don't think it'll be pointed out or mentioned when the Lions are involved. Aus should feel happy with the half time score especially considering the points left on the field by not kicking penalties.

Lions will feel let down that they didn't kill the game in the first half. Exciting for the neutralthough. I think a BOD or Youngs at 9 would've made a difference. Not that those on the field have not been really good. Just think Youngs with a quick tap from a scrum penalty or BOD working better spaces / angles for the backs would've brought the lions an extra try when Aus were down to 14.

Not one lion having a bad game and I tip them to win it.

Well the Aussies couldn't have has a worse start, the Lions obviously the dominant scrum but it seems Poite has made his mind up about who is wrong at every scrum, whether the Aussies pop or the Lions, it goes one way only.

Still not seeing much from the Lions in attack, but they have the platform to win this now, kick not Wallaby territory, scrum, penalty, win.

Bl00dy hell man, its not poor allegiance just to admit a player was poor even if he is from you club. JOC had a sublime instinctive 15 seconds, but Sexton once committed should have nailed him.

Yes we have seen your first three comments, he has been exactly opposite what you have said. His running game has been hugely influential and his quick thinking started the movement for try, and his delayed pass to Corbs ended it.

If the Aussies sort the scrum out its curtains for the Lions. After the purple patch the test is following the patten of the first two tests. Lions don't look like scoring, the Aussies have their number.

On Sexton I'm an Irish fan and Sexton fan, but he Gould have done better. Great play from JOC, but he was flatfooted on defence. Should ave done better.

Lions looking hesitant now...can see Australia getting right on top very quickly here. If they get the lead it will be game over...

Amazing turnaround.

Pure brilliance from O'Connor

Phillips has been excellent, apart from 2 iffy box kicks............ you are like a Broken Record

Really?! I think he's been woeful. I think he's the best we've got, sadly, but his box kicking is TERRIBLE. Constantly puts pressure back on his team. Just isn't up to the pace of this sort of game.

Yes we have seen your first three comments, he has been exactly opposite what you have said. His running game has been hugely influential and his quick thinking started the movement for try, and his delayed pass to Corbs ended it.

Come boys, focus on the game not each other.

To be fair, The lions are kind of imploding a little too. Just kicking the ball straight back

Shocking, no composure, why the hell does this always happen against the Aussies, you get the momentum, then let them straight back in, idiocy.
