Perhaps not quite the pairing the home crowd and tv viewers would have wished for ; but Delbonis and Fognini are without question both there on merit and will hopefully put on a good show .........

Fognini is one of my favourite players. Such smooth technique. Agricultural tennis players like Granollers can learn something from him.

Some sort of bakery product here would not surprise me. Poor lad but he had 3 MPs and didn't take them.

If DelBo had fought a bit harder in the third set, it could have been closer. Very good tourney for DelBo.

Congratulations to Ivo for winning his comeback tournament. I don't think he's beloved here but still, it's nice he's still able to play.

Good to see him back, after his health scares, including a 'stroke'.

I like Ivo. He's a good guy. Worth noting though that on a reasonably fast court at altitude he was not broken all week and faced a grand total of 4 break points in 5 matches. This is the reason why most courts are now medium speed.

Good for Karlovic. Always nice to hear a nice comeback story. If we speed up the courts enough who knows? He may have a career revival.
