SA tour of Pak(UAE)
First topic message reminder :
UAE, though foreign for Pak, but it is no less then a home feeling. It was here they uprooted the World's best team, with a white wash. Now again they are on a fight with the recent best test team of the world, SA. PAK under captain Misbah and experienced Yunis, looks bit clear on their stance that they will give a strong fight.
We will get an interesting battle here.

Dude, I was so being sarcastic!
I don't think South Africa will recover from this - they'll lose this Test Match, then slide all the way to the bottom of the rankings, before being relegated to games in Jersey and Canada.
It will all start from that crippling five run penalty. The ICC are cruel.

Re: SA tour of Pak(UAE)
At least the match referee handled this properly....
They waited on the video evidence, and then the Saffers had no choice but to plead guilty.
Darrell Hair handled it all wrong in that infamous Lords Test. He had no video evidence to prove that Pakistan tampered with the ball, and unilaterally docked Pakistan five runs, provoking a confrontation.

Re: SA tour of Pak(UAE)
now Ajmal fined for celebrating.
this is a perfect example of what will turn intio discriminatory behaviour by ICC later......when in anotehr series anotehr player will celebrate in an +/-equal way and get away free
Saeed Ajmal, the Pakistan offspinner, has received an official reprimand for his celebrations following the wicket of Morne Morkel on the third day of the second Test in Dubai. The celebrations were considered insulting towards the umpires.
The incident in question occurred in the 162nd over of South Africa's innings, when Ajmal appealed for a catch against Morne Morkel, but was turned down by umpire Ian Gould. Pakistan had no reviews left. Morkel was dismissed off Ajmal's next delivery, caught at first slip by Younis Khan, but the bowler celebrated continued appealing animatedly.
Ajmal was charged with breaching Article 2.1.4 of the ICC Code of Conduct which relates to "using language or a gesture that is obscene, offensive or insulting during an International Match".

Pakistan hanging in for dear life. Obviously Misbah is leading the struggle, and Asad Shafiq is giving the captain the support. Both are batting on 72 each, and the Pakistan 2nd innings has reached 215-4, South Africa haven't been able to pick up a wicket as yet today.

When do South Africa start getting nervous then? This might go into day five.

This resistance, and backs-to-the-wall defiance, really does appeal to my quaint English spirit. Nine off the last over.

Re: SA tour of Pak(UAE)
Pakistan really are too far behind to even hope to not lose this, but they can take comfort in a very strong display. For S.A., it all started going South after the incident. Pakistan are 60/3, and Faf gets sneaky, since then, there have been dropped catches and missed stumpings, not to mention poor bowling. We will win, but it's one of those "take the win and go" victoriesthat leave no joy for all involved

Re: SA tour of Pak(UAE)
it was inevitable that Pakistan put up a better effort second time around though, and SA have finally broken the partnsership with Elgar removing Misbah to an absolutely awful shot. Good bowling change by De Villers it must be said (haven't been hugely impressed by his captaincy in the innings so far, and his keeping has been a bit below par - superb batting though).

Is Smith injured or something? AB bringing the bowling change?

Pakistan 293-6, Atnan Akmal the last man out, LBW to Tahir. Asad Shafiq has brought up his ton, and Saeed Ajmal is giving him company.

Re: SA tour of Pak(UAE)
AB de Villiers just crossed the 900 point threshold in the Test rankings, making him the new premier batsman in world cricket, and the fifth player in the current team (bowling or batting) to cross 900... Truly one of the special teams in cricketing history

Re: SA tour of Pak(UAE)
Shame we don't get a 3rd Test, although I would back the Saffers to win that one as well.
Well played South Africa.

Re: SA tour of Pak(UAE)
South Africa snatched a win out of nowhere in the first ODI.
South Africa were bowled out for 183 after batting first. Wayne Parnell top scored with 56 and David Miller made 37. After weathering some testing bowling from Morne Morkel in his first spell with losing only one wicket, Pakistan seemed in control of the chase. At one stage they were 165-4, but then managed to collapse to 182 all out with 21 balls unused in their innings. Morkel and Tsotsobe picked up 2 wickets each in very economical spells and Imran Tahir and Parnell picked up 3 each.

CHOKE ALERT!!!!
great effort by SA, but there were some absolutely terrible shots played by the Pakistani batsmen to rather throw it away there.

Re: SA tour of Pak(UAE)
That was just an all round poor batting display by both teams.
You should not even award that win to any of the two teams. Very poor indeed.

Re: SA tour of Pak(UAE)
SA lost the 2nd ODI by 66 runs as the Pakistan spinners proved too much for the lineup. Saeed Ajmal, Mohammad Hafeez and Shahid Afridi took the wickets and gave away very little and South Africa were bowled out for 143. At least the bowlers have a job beyond turning up and getting smashed. A bit on the other extreme, the situation aggravated by some pretty poor batting from both sides, but I'd take it over the borring slogfests happening elsewhere.

Yeah these Indian pitches aren't doing cricket any favours.

The dubai pitches are fine for odi cricket, but they still need a bit of work for test match cricket.

Thought i would watch a bit of giggle cricket, but Pakistan finished on a measly 98/9 and SA are 9/0 after 1 over. SAD.

Re: SA tour of Pak(UAE)
Aside from the first Test, where the Proteas where caught cold, Pakistan have been outclassed in every aspect.
Bizarrely they'll be coming to South Africa to play 3 ODIs and 2 T20s...
What a waste of time.
