Not sure you can really have Tunney for 24 Truss, whilst he was almost certainly the best light heavy in the world he did not hold the title. Can't be certain but think I am right in saying Mike McTigue was champion in 24 and he avoided Gene like the plague (wisely I should add)

He certainly has a better chance of turning Lesnevich over than Mike does.

Heavy - Wladamir
Light Heavy - Hopkins
Super Middle - Ward
Middle - Martinez/GGG
Light Middle - Mayweather
Welter - Bradley
Light Welter - Garcia
Lightweight - Burns
Super B - Rigonduex

Errrrrrrrrrrrr pick a winner:

Dempsey vs Wlad
Tunney vs Hopkins
Greb vs Ward
Walker vs Mayweather
Ortiz vs Rigondeux

For me it would be Dempsey (LKO), Hopkins (Ugly PTS), Greb (LKO), Mayweather (UD), Rigo (UD).

Putting Burns in with Leonard is almost an act of cruelty.

Haha act of cruelty.

But remember Rowley, the fight would be in Edinburgh, so Burns wins via 120-65

Agreed, unless Leonard knocked him out, in which case it would be scored a draw

I can't see Hopkins beating Tunney in a month of sundays at 175lbs, there's a big difference between beating Cloud and Pascal to beating the 2nd best light heavyweight of them all.

1981:

Holmes
Spinks
Hagler
Leonard
Arguello
Sanchez
Chandler/Pintor
Avelar

I was going to nominate '74 myself, JBW. But the pedant in me realised that Foster announced his retirement and vacated his Light-Heavyweight titles about six weeks before Ali regained his Heavyweight crown against Foreman, so they never quite reigned alongside each other! Laugh

Ach, curses.

OK 1975. Although Foster is replaced by the weaker - but still pretty damn good - John Conteh, Gonzalez is replaced by Miguel Canto. Better overall, possibly.

Foreman himself isn't a bad heavyweight champ to put forward Chris.

Not bad at all, Hammersmith. 1974 is still looking very strong either way.

A few others to ponder, albeit I think the very best years have probably been stuck up already.

2002
Heavyweight - Lewis; Light-Heavyweight - Jones; Middleweight - Hopkins; Welterweight - Forrest (bit of a weak link, I guess); Lightweight - Mayweather; Featherweight - Barrera; Bantamweight - Sahaprom (see Forrest!); Flyweight - Wonjongkam

1989
Heavyweight - Tyson; Light-Heavyweight - Moorer / Hill; Middleweight - Nunn; Welterweight - Starling; Lightweight - Whitaker; Featherweight - Fenech; Bantamweight - Canizales; Flyweight - Chitalada

I was weighing up the Pros and cons of 2002 v 1999 chris but concluded the best years had gone.

If you're allowed to trade up your Inbetween weights to the weight they would have fought at in the original classes. Ie you can pick your superfeather at lightweight.

1999 gets you:
Lewis
Jones
Hopkins
De la Hoya
Mayweather
Naz/Barrera
Ayala
Pacquiao

Not too shabby
