It looks like he is putting a pill in the napkin but the the way he puts the napkin up to Maidana's face it seems like it is something to be inhaled. Maybe it was something like smelling salts. Looks dodgy.

Looks like he was smelling salts. Banned in boxing but still commonly used.

Its probably ammonium carbonate & alcohol in a capsule that mixes when crushed and acts similar to the inhalants that paramedics use when someone loses consciousness.

I've used it myself and it really does wake you up.

Having said that, its not he was popping Halotestin pills.
Now that would really be major news.

Definitely puts something in there, but does not mean its illegal. And he will know there was a camera there and media attention on him so would very much doubt he would do something illegal in front of the cam.

The youtube video looks even more incriminating. To my eyes it looks like Ariza is holding the napkin over Maidana's nose. Ariza is not dealing with bleeding so why the napkin?

More fundamentally I would say wtf is Ariza doing in the corner at all. Why the need for a strength and conditioning coach during the fight?

A trainer and a cut man is all that is needed. I never understand why some corners have a second trainer also shouting information at the fighter, far too confusing.

Unreal. So no sooner is an amazing result and superb fight finished we're now looking at it being overturned and Broner handed a bucket load of excuses.

To be fair though, if Peterson can still hold his title and keep the win over Khan then this should be no different. But that's a pretty poor benchmark.

Rios got suspended until April 24th, what a joke. 5 months. He wouldn't have fought this side of April after taking such a beating.

Broner's very keen to play the rematch card (despite it not being in the contract as they were too arrogant of the win) so we'll see how keen his is to carry-on playing it if this gets changed to a NC (God pray it doesn't).

The training camp should be more tightly regulated by the authorities that handle this type of issue. I don't think ariza is on the level. Even if this is innocent, he should be held to account for rios's failure. Although he'll get away with that, as the Chinese commission isn't really a real commission, damn communists.

Anyone remember how he fell out with khan? Did he accuse khan of stealing records? Or was that the other way around?

they don't need a hate campaign. just enough suspicion cast to give broners fanbase something to cling onto, does a good job for them.

Ariza is a qualified cut man. he has worked as a cut man for other fighters. there was a lot of squabbling a couple of years ago when ariza started working on pacquaios cuts in between rounds and diaz didn't like it.

I can see why Diaz didn't want Ariza working on cuts in Pacquiao's corner. Ariza is the clumsiest so called cut man I've ever seen and his methods seem very "unconventional".

My view is Ariza held a napkin over Maidana's nose for a couple of seconds, Maidana did not blow his nose. It looked all wrong and given who was doing it only adds to the suspicion.
