Tomkins brothers sign new deals with Wigan Empty Tomkins brothers sign new deals with Wigan

Wigan have tied brothers Joel and Sam Tomkins to new five-year contracts, as well as agreeing new deals with four other first-team regulars.

Sam Tomkins, 21, had four years left on his deal, but second row Joel, 23, was due to be out of contract this year.

Loose forward Liam Farrell, 21, and young centre Josh Charnley, 19, have also signed new five-year contracts.

England winger Darrell Goulding, 22, and second rower Harrison Hansen, 25, have penned three-year deals.

The double deal for the Tomkins, which commits them to the reigning Super League champions until 2015, effectively ends any realistic chance of either player moving to Australia or switching codes to rugby union.

"It is excellent news for the club and its fans that we have been able to secure the long-term future of both Sam and Joel," said Wigan chairman Ian Lenagan.

"The pair played a huge part in what Wigan achieved last season and are a major part of our plans for the next five years.
