I've been reading that the bookies have Silva as favourite for this. Strikes me as odd, if you'll pardon the expression. Recent activity, and one sided win putting him ahead of Brown after Brown's lengthy lay-off?

Remember, Brown was due to fight Carlos Condit... Silva doesn't move in those circles. Yet?

Can't see past Brown knocking Silva the f**k out, probably in the first round.

Of the other fights on the card, I'm interested in the Soa Palelei fight - he's got the tools to make a noise in the HW divison, I reckon.

Also, is this the first UFC card in ages without a women's fight?

Nope, seen a few cards recently with no women fights.

Anyone watch this? Great fight.

Silva needs to work on his cardio, he started well but gassed quickly. Brown went down from a big body shot... possible weakness?

Good win for The Hulk too Smile

Cracking fight and performance from Brown. Not sure if the body shot showed a weakness as when hit in the right spot anyone will be dropped. He took the punishment well and came back strong and went for the finish for about 10 minutes straight!

Agree about Hulk who had another big win for him. His record looks very impressive which will enable him to be sold well by the UFC. The HW division is quite shallow so 1-2 more wins against ranked guys will put him in contender status.

Where do you think this leaves Brown in terms of the division? He was set for that match-up with Condit before his back injury, which implies he's in the thinking at the very top level.

woodley v Macdonald is already booked, IIRC, but Lombard maybe?

Brown needs a Top 10 win to get a title shot IMO.

7 wins is impressive but for me doesn't match 3 wins against top 10 guys.

If Brown beats Lombard (I'd favour Lombard) I would give him the shot or Lombard if he wins.
