First topic message reminder :

This **should** be the main article for the Fifa World Cup 2014 competition that happens in 10 days time. Lets try and keep the debate simple yet reasonable about all of the build-up, the stadiums, the countries, the players, the qualifying, the winners and most importantly, the "bought" 2022 World Cup. Whistle

Enjoy! (And... lets try and make this World Cup as good as possible considering all of the poor build-up, tragic deaths and he outrageous violence that has been happening over recent months) Fingers Crossed

Besides the fact that it seems you want some sort of invitational tournament, North Korea is your idea of a competitive team?

I'm puzzled , as always, by some people's ways of seeing . Palacios made a foul, when he came down ( you can see it with the front camera ) his foot goes down on Pogba's leg . As it's not enough, and you can see it with the back camera, after his landing he gives a deliberate kick with his left foot into Pogba's leg . That's when Pogba reacted as the young lad he is, but I think Palacios expected that . Everything is dirty from Palacios in this one . A red for Pogba would have been morally unfair even though legally correct . But what did Palacios deserve ?
OK he got it after, but I'm worrying about injuries or red cards for the French team who includes many unexperimented players .

No need to get personal just because you disagree with me.

Facts are ref didn't give a free kick for palacios tackle and restarted with a free kick to Honduras.

Pogba's defending himself, Beckham's kick was rather cowardly.

I have no idea why they have Henry as a pundit. He is awful, he was a brilliant player though.

He is hardly the person you want judging foul play as well given his track record...

It is over the line, well done the technology.

Just the replays muddied the waters somewhat.

where the fck is the confusion? they showed both instances where the ball is either on or over the line. maybe it was pointless showing the ball hitting the post. but they showed both incidents and it was confirmed as a goal.

honduras are annoying me, actually want france to win

The goal-line technology worked fine.
They just shouldn't have put up the result when the ball hit the post before they'd checked when it came off the keeper.

Yes they can. The referee gave a goal instantly. Those replays/ images have nothing to do with the actual technology. When the ball goes over the line the referee gets a signal. The images are just for show afterwards.

The trouble is people not understanding how it works.

Issue was with how many camera views it needs to have to make a decision.

Wouldn't have been any use for scrambles with players in the way.
