First topic message reminder :

This **should** be the main article for the Fifa World Cup 2014 competition that happens in 10 days time. Lets try and keep the debate simple yet reasonable about all of the build-up, the stadiums, the countries, the players, the qualifying, the winners and most importantly, the "bought" 2022 World Cup. Whistle

Enjoy! (And... lets try and make this World Cup as good as possible considering all of the poor build-up, tragic deaths and he outrageous violence that has been happening over recent months) Fingers Crossed

Again a case of the organised team stifling the opposition. Mexico have had a few half chances and keeping Brazil at bay. Only Neymar and Luiz have really had clear cut chances.

Again the pace is just too sluggish from Brazil..I feel like I have said that so many times in this tournament...obviously climate playing it's part but Germany and Netherlands managed to play at a quick temp so why others can't i'm not sure.

Defence hasn't really put a foot wrong. (Mexico is resorting to long range for a reason), it's the midfield that's being overrun... again

He's a free agent atm, can see him being snapped up soon. He also has an extra finger on one hand (so perhaps Norwich may be interested?)

They might have had the better chances, but Brazil looked just as negative as Mexico to me. Pretty much every time Mexico got near the box there were 8 or 9 yellow shirts there.

Russia are there for the taking if South Korea choose to be more positive.

The Koreans are getting a lot of space and time on the ball, they have an aerial advantage and a pace advantage. Just watch out for the counter.

It's there to be won.

Yeh not surprised by Akinfeev's mistake, been parrying them all night and tried to do it again and didn't come off to say the least.

Good response by Russia. That goal may be what they needed to finally kick start them into gear and go on the attack. Always good for a goal Kerzakhov (sp?)

Much the same as Capello's last World Cup then: 1-1 draw, despite being favourites, and a disastrous keeping error thrown in the mix as well. Algeria round the corner, too, might fancy a 0-0 there...

This group the worst of the eight then!

I felt that this was the most ordinary Brazilian world cup team I have seen in my lifetime. There is no player of the level of Romario, Bebeto, Rivaldo, Ronaldino, or Ronaldo on this team or a Zico for that matter. Neymar can get to that level but he has quite some ways to go. Hulk and Oscar are simply not that good or ever will be. This is the most ordinary Brazilian team that I can ever remember. Yet, they are still hypothetically good enough to win it, although I don't think they will.
