As much as I rate Varane, the difference ability wise between him and Astori is smaller than the difference between Pjanic and Lucas Silva.

And I'm not a huge fan of rating players by transfermarket prices. Personal opinion comes first.

I would want a chunk Over his price on TM which I'm sure you are aware is £10.56m. We can negotiate that though for sure.

I want to get a replacement in that is cheaper that's the plan so due to the TP limit I would ideally need a CB replacement included. If not then I can take cash or even another player that isn't a CB.

What about

Varane = Astori + Carrick

I'm sure Carrick could get in your starting 11 maybe make it to the bench.

Possibly yes...
I'd need to offload either of Subo/dog-faced gremlin.
I'd also like that new Arsenal RB included.

Oh I could buy one, but he's the best value DM at £2.6m or lower. Hence why I'd be crazy to sell. I could sell you Kehl but he's already paid in advance for our Saga cruise of the Med at the end of Season 3. He'd need some convincing. We've got Donny Osmond lined up for cabaret and bingo pencilled in for 5 out of the 7 nights.

But its been so long since Mascherano has played dm for barca I don't think he should be marked down for playing CB for tbe past couple of seasons. I think masch is primarily a CB now who used to be a DM.

Any deal would have to be post Friday if it involved Subo, if was Pepe instead I could do it before then (being that Varane and Pepe are both injured this week).

And it's because of this injury that we can't do anything with Nainggolan until post Friday

--------------------

I wouldn't be able to replace him easily at TM value so something above TM value, near the £7-8m mark.

I would be looking to offload one of my CBs if we did a deal, however it's not critical to a deal.

So on the table is Matuidi for Varane, straight swap enq
