New Zealand v England 3rd test & the 2nd test review
First topic message reminder :
1000 posts and the 2nd test thread is blocked time to move onto the 3rd test in Hamilton.
What are England's chances of securing a win?
Could NZ win convincingly?
Will it be close again?
Who will play?
How much will the referee affect the game?
Let the banter begin..................
Oh, and feel free to discuss test's 1 and 2.

Until Ashton sorts that out he simply isn't good enough, especially with how we use our wingers.
Oh dear oh dear. Between Eastmond and Tuilagi

That's why he's called the Big Bus because he picks up. It's his job.

Remembering why he was dropped anyone?
He will need to be a lot stronger against Savea if he can't bring down Aaron Smith
Wasn't dropped for his pants defence - although should have been, was dropped because when playing for England he couldn't score tries.

None of our wings do. He was dropped for his defence.

Ashtons no match for Savea in that situation, not many are.

now we will see how much character these england youngsters have. 2 tries down after 10 mins...time to learn as they go and try to get smarter about defensive communication. great challenge against a rampant NZ back line.

England midfield is bunching and leaving wide open spaces in defence.

Englands midfield getting cut to shreds, so much space out wide. Certain try fluffed.

What a bugger. Another mistake in midfield from England. Savea will be licking his lips.

Need to start thinking here. The forwards are not stepping into the line and are forcing the backs to come further and further in field to make up the line. It's leaving massive space out wide. The line out looks a mess without Parling.

That spanking I feared seems on its way. Embarrassing to get run round on first phase ball, they're not even having to work for it

NZ forwards look hungry and backs are getting good ball. Let's see the character of this England side because they've always got back into games in recent times when falling behind.

Yeah, we knew we'd get one. it's a shame we've got worse through the series, and a little concerning. We're not nearly as close to these guys as we thought.
But, I really wish we'd picked Haskell and dropped Wood.

The narrowness always looked a concern, the fact that the ABs worked our how to target it, and we failed to realise is typical. Ah OK, yellow card is it? Yeah this is not going to be a contest now, I think that's poor poor decision.

Can I just say the IRB REALLY needs to have a word with Garces. In recent past he has had to make some big calls and many of them true but he has a history of never giving any benefit of the doubt. Check red cards on YouTube, Garces has issued most of them.
That yellow was dumb. Penalty yes yellow no. Don't ruin the game.

he should at least have gone to video first, especially since Cruden carried on running...dumb call.

Well I said after the last test our one on one defence is poor...and its showing again.
Also whn we do manage to claw a bit of ball we look ponderous and bereft of ideas

Re: New Zealand v England 3rd test & the 2nd test review
We look awful, we're not even a step off from them, we're about a mile off the pace. Very poor. I don't think we can consider this series a success if we've just moved further away from them.
The only way we have a chance against them is with our best team. That is Care getting some vaguely quick ball and Haskell. Tom Wood doesn't do the unseen work, he doesn't do the work.
