Well done to Murray. I was hoping for Anderson to sneak the TB.

Just read article on Henman whining about volleying. Can I just say that actually I reckon 3 of the top 4 can all volley at his level, they just don't and don't need to as they are better in every single feasible other aspect than he could have dreamed off

Great performance by Murray, very composed & efficient
And great to see Jimmy Connors back here, now in the commentary box for Djokovic/Tsonga
More match wins at Wimbledon than any other player, so Jimbo sure knows what he's talking about .......

I beg to differ.
Henman was a top volleyer and is streets ahead of the top 4 in that department.
If Tim was just a little stronger mentally, he would be a Wimbledon champion.

A lot stronger mentally, maybe. My memories of Tim are sheer disappointment and how often do see Rafa, Roger and Murray lose their net points?

They lose their fair share of points at the net.

Almost never but we both know that's it's a tactic that does not consistently work these days on these courts, except maybe the first few days here and at Queen's

On that basis I can't see then how the top 4 would be of the same quality of volleying against someone who was a very accomplished and seasoned volleyer.

Re: Wimbledon Day 7.... or 8?
But it doesn't make them volleyers in Henmans league.
The only area I would rank Federer or Nadal near Henman is probably on the overhead. Other than that, they are miles behind.

Fair enough, I'd put Roger's stretch backhand volley and Rafa's drop volley up there too at least

It's like Djokovic v the crowd with the crowd playing through Tsonga. How can Novak play DC when he hates crowds against him?

Djokovic walkabout?? He is playing unreal tennis!! Tsonga playing incredible too, not much you can do if tsonga is pummelling the ball into the corners. Superb match

Andrew said it nicely: everytime crowd is against Djoko, he starts fisting after every point, inviting the crowd back, that I'm here too.

Re: Wimbledon Day 7.... or 8?
Just wanted to pick up on the comments about Henman. His volleying was excellent, particularly the backhand volley (also, do people remember his backhand smash - the best in the game!). I really do disagree with the myth that he was a bottler and would have won more if he was mentally stronger. For me, Henman was a tough match player - obviously not in the same league as Murray but Henman's number of tournaments won, and record in Davis Cup and Wimbledon shows how much of a battler he was.
For me, there was just 1 factor which stopped Henman reaching the very top and winning a slam, and that was the serve. Not consistent enough and not quite a big enough weapon to give him those important cheap points at business end of a set against the likes of Hewitt, Sampras, Agassi (and Ivanisevic!). Compare and contrast with Thomas Johansson, winner of Aus Open. I would argue that Henman was a more rounded player but Johansson had a much more potent serve.

Re: Wimbledon Day 7.... or 8?
I wouldn't call Henman a bottler MrI.
2001 was unique for him to be in a winning position in a semi when the rain came when previously he had been spanked by Sampras. For Tim being in a winning position in Slam semi was uncharted territory.
I agree with the serve aspect.

Lucky slap from Djoko again.
He was better no doubt, Tsonga woke up late and should fo back to challeneger tour.
