Wimbledon Day 8 - Page 4 Empty Wimbledon Day 8

Post by Guest Tue Jul 01, 2014 7:20 pm

First topic message reminder :

So we are nearing the business end of Wimbledon.

Federer is up against Robredo looking to avenge his US Open defeat last year.

Nadal will face the new kid on the block Kyrgios.

Wawrinka is up against Lopez and Raonic will face Nishikori.

On the ladies side Sharapova against Kerber.

Kvitova, Lisicki and Halep all in action.

Interestingly enough Wimbledon is the only event not to have Federer, Nadal, Djokovic and Murray all clash in the Semi's. So could we see that duck get broken?

At least he cant push Korgi like Rosol. he's much bigger, Nadal would self deflect on him.

its all a matter of being solid with your own serve, and nadal is all but solid with his serve on grass this year.

also kyrgios has showed he can perform well in long matches... so this is getting really difficult for nadal right now.

nadal would have much preferred gasquet or monfils here

Sorry but Rafa wouldn't be allowing this to happen at RG and Murray or Novak wouldn't here either

It's all about confidence, Rafa is getting beaten up or troubled too many times on this surface by hard hitters. I don't care how mentally tough someone is, it must have an affect. The fast and low bounce just gives him no time to operate with as much spin

I still expect him to win this match though

Nadal's body serves are getting smacked here, Nadal needs to focus on the serve wide to his forehand.

Korgi goa demolishing cross court backhand, so it won't be as easy as he had it against Rosol, oh forgot not the service is 2x more powerful.

Raonic next for the winner (ie Nadal). It just gets better for Nadal with these big serving, flat hitting players.

He is playing without fear and that is absolutely key.

I'm liking the use of the slice here - make Kyrgios play shots with that forehand and then pick him off. His movement seems really clunky. I've seen Cybermen move better.

The commentators trying to jinx Kyrgios. He's not the one under pressure. Nadal is!

No he is not, its just nervousness that he panicked on the crucial juncture of the 2nd set, lets see whether he is physically ready for the 3rd set and a fight from here on.

Tomic wouldn't have given Nadal a close run like this on a grandslam 4th round, first of all he wouldn't have even reached this far in general.

In skill and talent wise Tomic leads head and shoulders above all his generation but his negative attitude towards hardwork spoiled it all, I hope and surely think Kargisoarez doesn't belong to that school, the 2nd set can be forgiven for one blip due to nervousness.  Hug
