Golden Shoe

The winner of the Golden Shoe has been announced, and no surprises it was Cristiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid with an astonishing 40 league goals - a La Liga record.

Here's the top three:

1. C. Ronaldo (Real Madrid) - 40 goals
2. L. Messi (Barcelona) - 31 goals
3. A. Di Natale (Udinese) - 28 goals

The top premier league performer was a tie between Berbatov and Carlos Tevez and they shared 8th place with 21 goals each.

Incidentally, the highest placing Brit was Kenny Miller (16th), now of Bursaspor, with 26 goals. The highest placed Englishman was Darren Bent (28th) with 17 goals.

It would be interesting to the see the ratio of shots to goals, that for me would work out who is the better goal scorer

I imagine Ronaldo would be well down the list in that case, david.

He really does just shoot on sight sometimes, and he's lucky that his ball striking is so good. Anyone else would be out of the team for not passing!

That was my gripe with him at United, he was incredibly selfish!

Exactly, its a bit like Frank Lampard, everyone goes on about how many goals he scores for a midfield player. But thats because he shoots from anywhere and must have about 20 shots a game!
