Cleverly vs Bellew 2

The worst kept secret in British boxing is now official, Nathan Cleverly and Tony Bellew will face off again at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on the 22nd of November. The press conference on Wednesday is open to the public if anyone in the area wants to attend, Paul Smith will also be in attendance as Hearn expects the people of Liverpool to give him a hero's reception.

Are there any fights any of us do get excited about on here? Seems whenever a fight is announced, whatever thread announces it someone takes a dump on it as a match up within the first few comments. I personally am looking forward to this, there first was close enough to justify it and both seem pretty evenly matched up. Nobody is claiming the result of this will send shockwaves around the sport, or will herald in a new era of never before seen excitement for the runt of the litter cruiser division but both are decent to watch and this looks a pick em, as such I will be looking forward to it.

Does anybody know if this is a WBO eliminator? I think thats harsh Rowley i often say i look forward to fights just not that excited about this particular one

I would be fine with the fight but it seems to have been in the making forever and given a build up as if its a 5 star fight. I also think Bellew has come across as a bit of pr1ck and that really there would be no beef at all in this so called grudge match if Bellew could handle being beat like a man. If I were Cleverly I would be very nervous of the judges in this one. I think any sort of close fight will go to Bellew and an inneviteable trilogy. If Bellew loses again in front o his own crowd after all the mouth he will find it hard to ever live it down.

Can't wait for this one, Think Bellew really dislike's Clev and think he deserved a rematch after the first one.

Hopefully there'll be no major shenanigans but a bit of mouthyness won't go amiss (It wouldn't be Bellew without it) and hope the result is a fair one (regardless of what it is.)

I'm rooting for Bellew all the way, as for some reason I like the little toerag

Bellew's a bit of a chancer isn't he? I think he lucked out in getting Clev in the first place due to his lip, and it was never a world title fight. I think he put in a good performance though and I had him winning 5 rounds.

Looking forward to this. Bellew always talks a good fight and now we know the level of these two I think we could see another good bout. Cleverly to win again for me.

Bellew to make a pr1ck of himsef in the build up
Cleverly to carry on with a horrible dress sense
Closish fight but Bellew to enjoy favourable officiating as the matchroom focus will be on a trilogy and Bellew is in tight with them

As much as I think Bellew can be a clown when he gets riled up, I did think his 'nobody cares about your maths degree' rant at Cleverly was hilarious. So unnecessary. Really tickled me!

Don't remember that after the last fight.

Bell cried, something about trying his hardest and letting down his family, but that's about it. The bitterness/animosity didn't subside.

Big fight for Bellew..............Clev loses he say's 1-1.............

Bellew loses twice to a European at best standard fighter......It's not good......Hard to take seriously as a World champ If he grabs an ABC later on.

Bellew said Cleverly was a joke champion because it was the WBO belt he held yet HE was the one that fought for it and cried when he lost. That's the WBO route ruled out because he would be laughed at for contradicting himself.

Either way I hope Cleverly mops him up. Can't stand his whiney voice when he starts talking about his "power" etc

Back on topic, I think this fight depends on how Clev is at Cruiser and whether he can still hold a shot after the Kovalev drubbing.

Can definately see a stoppage for either of them

Cleverley is just a better fighter than Bellew. Not much in it but can see a Clev points win again.
Surprised he's willing to go to Liverpool again though. Hopefully he gets a fair crack when it goes to the cards. Clev to outwork Bellew for me. Bellews 'power' won't come into play.

Be interested to see how Bellew reacts to fighting someone half decent since the pasting he took from Stevenson. His chin might not hold up.

I don't know Ranj..............Kovalev is just a one dimensional type with a decent dig....and he outclassed Cleverley...

I don't think there is much between them skill wise.......

Bellew can punch (@ Cruiser) but he was also hurt by Brudov. Not sure what Clev punches like a Cruiser yet.

I think Kovalev's a bit better than that but I guess Hopkins could prove that wrong. Cleverley learnt from that fight though that he hasn't got a world class chin so maybe he'll try moving now not just standing and trading. He doesn't seem to have the frame for the division either but that might be me.

I think it'll be an entertaining fight between two who won't go much further than where they are now though to be honest.
