I think that is at least 3 re-signings that Bram has made in the last year. He must be worth so much if TNA keep asking him to put pen to paper on an improved multi-year contract.

I can only imagine that he had some "worst name" clause in his contract and since Mandrews has joined that has to be re-written.

As soon as RoH got that Destination America deal, WWE only had the choice of cutting their deal with Joe, or making it a full time one.

Because NXT have lost so many wrestlers recently, I think Joe held all the cards and I expect the contract is main roster value, but I think he's going to be filling that NXT hole for some time (maybe always), which doesn't mean he won't get the occasional showing on WWE.

I don't think WWE are going to say "ooops we put Joe on a deal where he can use all the marketing and exposure that WWE is creating for him and apply that to another organization that a couple of weeks after we did that contract (and stalled over it for so long that he kept taking more bookings) now has nationwide TV coverage".

So, I'm sure the shirt sales are good. But I don't believe it is anything but the RoH deal forcing their hand. And isn't Superstars the same exposure as a dark match taping Wink

The way I heard it was that he couldn't work for ones with a nationwide TV coverage. As he had taken RoH TV taping bookings I think this would have set the precedent that it was okay to keep doing that, even though the position with RoH had changed. So, I suspect WWE wanted to tie him down and close that loop hole.

And I still believe that the buzz and shirt sales have been great after his debut, so it is a win-win. But I can't help but think that a big motivation would be the RoH change in status.

Yeah Prometheus is probably right, in that the ROH TV deal meant WWE had to think whether to sign Joe up full time or drop him, then the shirt sales made that decision for them.

TNA reportedly reached out to former Champion AJ Styles about returning to the company for one more match, followed by a TNA Hall of Fame induction.

The deal was reportedly a big money offer, which would have seen Styles come in and likely work one last match at Slammiversary, then get inducted into the Hall of Fame as TNA will be having a ceremony at Slammiversary this year.

Natalya raced to the back following the match and Cesaro quickly got into the ring and the referee threw up the "X" sign. Kidd was said to be upset leaving the ring, and was holding his neck/collarbone.

Samoa Joe has a new full-time deal in place, however Joe has not actually signed the contract yet. Both sides have agreed on terms but the contract is still being written.

Joe is expected to be the main focal point of the NXT brand moving forward, and possibly "fast-tracked" to the main roster, similar to Kevin Owens’ situation.

I saw that yesterday and just thought it was a work. Would be terrible if Kidd were out for a couple of months as he and Cesaro are one of the best things in WWE at the moment.

Apparently, Samoa Joe is still taking independent bookings. He's scheduled to appear at Preston City Wrestling in August. Although WWE are usually good at letting talent honour previous agreements, will signing a contract complicate things?

For such a big organization, there seems to be a lot of panic around the injury to one man.

Obviously the intention was to bring someone up from NXT and that was to be Zayn. But his injury meant that Owens got the spot, which is why there were about 5 feuds he could have done in NXT after their last special and now he's been called up. Which of course, leaves a vacuum in NXT that Joe is to fill, but somehow WWE seems to have really dragged its heels on his contract.

I dont think it would be a bad thing. They are moving forward with the Prime Time Players at the minute, so Cesaro & Kidd would get lost in the mix. Depending on the severity of Kidds injury, they could have Cesaro work solo as a face for a while, even with Natalya as his manager before he gets double teamed by a team, maybe the Ascension, before Kidd makes a return to save his tag partner. If they do it right they could get a huge reaction from it.

The problem with that is that Cesaro is Swiss. And therefore can't speak English. And so will never get over according to Vince. He'd have been an excellent addition to the MitB, doesn't need to win it, but he's probably the best catcher in the WWE and would be a great addition to the match that just has too many of the same characters in it.

If anybody can remember Bowl Cut Kid who was a superfan in the 90s, WWE.com recently posted an article talking about the most famous fans. His entry was written by James Wortman, and now it looks like HE IS Bowl Cut Kid. He managed to actually become a WWE producer!

It's sad that WWE can't play nicely with everyone. They are so big that they can either act in a supportive or aggressive manner. I think they will win more on the former.

I think WWE are basically admitting they got their development wrong in the last 10(?) years. They tried to develop internally, and other than a very small number of cases, like Cena, that's not worked (maybe Lesnar too, but they pay so much for him he's an outlier). Meanwhile many of these Indie guys are joining towards the end of their careers where they have less time to work, have biggish deals already and are more likely to get injured.

So, WWE now see Indie as the way to develop. And it should be, wrestling is a vocation that demands working in the ring, and travelling to play in front of crowds, over years.

But WWE can't tie up all Indie talent. They take one, another appears. So it is like a bottomless pit, and that's why they should work with all the other federations IMO.

Plus, what is wrong with a wrestler joining WWE who has national exposure? So, they change their name a bit? So Kevin Steen has a T-shirt and play figure. But that will be outsold 100 to 1 by the Kevin Owens merchandise. Let RoH have a bit of the pie because if everyone has a slice better talent will emerge and be available for WWE than if they try to tie up every wrestler in NA as soon as they put on a pair of tights and boots.

Its both an image rights thing and NXT's expansion. It seems to have come from ROH's toy deal that has had a Kevin Steen doll released recently which they find frustrating as they push Kevin Owens.

However, some also believe it is due to the fact NXT is targeting becoming a "third brand" and as such they don't get any chance to actually be developmental any more. Thus they use EVOLVE and such to be a little less scrutinised in development. Heyman's protege Gabe Sapolsky is heavily involved with one of the promotions (at the very least) in the WWN umbrella.

It's nothing new. They have done the same with TNA people for years. ROH get a tv deal and they put names in the eye and thus wwe can't make them individual to them.

The Evolve stuff is this, and whether anything will happen, I don't know.
HHH is very aware of the NXT buzz and product not being able to maintain if 3-4 key people who should be on the main roster are brought up, and the self trained guys simply can't put together a touring show that will please the kind of audience they are drawing.
The idea is to fill the shows up with talent who can carry the less experienced guys and use Evolve type of guys to fill out the house shows and deliver quality matches in 2016 when in theory, all of the key NXT guys should be stars on the main roster.

Nothing too wrong with that plan. I saw Zack Sabre Jr. Signed up for a couple of Evolves so could well see him in NXT next year.

Saw a tweet that Angle / EC3 was shifted from the Slammiversay card. If that is true, the move makes sense to me. This PPV is making no money for anyone, better to screen these on TVS and try to hold the DA deal right now.

Ive heard thats a work, and it will actually airwith 5 minutes to go and cut out transmission just as they start to fight. Which will be a work itself, with the show coming back 15 mins later cutting into some other show that they will claim are not competition for ratings, but really a possible partnership.

And I for one look forward to Spencer and Eugene from Fishy Business leading the invasion angle in TNA.
