The best of Froch will be unseen
Now that Froch is on sky and is now accessible to a much larger audience, it is great for any boxing fan but if they have missed out on his earlier fights, particularly his last five then they may not see froch at his best in his next fights ahead, especially as he could look bad against a 42 year old whom is still a force but joe public will not see it like that. And against ward he could lose to a hometown decision.
This is a shame because the public will never see his fighting spirit against Taylor, and if his Taylor fight was on the 24/7 programme then Taylors cockiness would have made the victory even sweeter for the British public.
Also his dominance of Abraham and his close loss to Kessler (to me I did think he lost, but narrowly) will never be witnessed by joe public, and indeed some boxing fans who didnt fancy being ripped off by the amateurish primetime tv.
Lets hope that sky find some time in their schedule to show the British public what Froch is all about.

Re: The best of Froch will be unseen
Well it's his own fault isn't it....Pricing himself out of certain markets and not realising he was outside the tent with Hennessy and though his loyalty was applaudable not realising faster that to attain his rightful status he needed to leave that stable.....
Not sure I agree about his fights...very good technician but has a tendency to stink places out.....He was lucky against Taylor fought like a stiff for most of the fight...
Although he did pull it out..
agree about kessler..thought he won but should beat the likes of him without it being so close!!
Still has a future though so your article is premature me thinks.

Would agree with this, Froch turned pro late, something like 26 and Pascal and Kessler aside has not had too many real wars. Couple this with the fact he lives right, does not blow up in weight between fights and there are plenty of miles potentially on the clock

Think the Taylor fight was on HBO or showtime in the states.

Lets hope he stays around for either Groves or Degale, although theres plenty of options open either at sm or lw to keep him busy for the next couple of years.

I think he could outwit Cleverly at the moment as he hasnt had any big fight experience. I also think Froch has matured enough to know that he couldnt out brawl a bigger man.

Re: The best of Froch will be unseen
Went to watch the Pascal fight so didnt pay any attention to whether or not that was on tv. Ordered the Dirrell fight for tv, didnt work so my brother ordered it through the internet totalling 30 quid for that fight. Agree that maybe sacrificing the Abraham performance would probably be worth large numbers missing the Dirrell fight.

HaHa, Whenever theres a big fight me and my bro make a night of it and use it as an excuse to drink into the early hours.
And yes I am from Notts and think it means more if a fighter is local, also enjoy watching Booth but his fights live are totally a different atmosphere, no better or worse just different.

Re: The best of Froch will be unseen
The Froch/Taylor fight was so good it was also replayed on ITV the following week

Re: The best of Froch will be unseen
so..."the best of Froch will be unseen" isn't strictly an accurate statement as that fight was replayed on Terrestrial TV with plenty of advertising for it. When taken next to SKy and PPV audience viewing, it got decent figures for a boxing match
Problem?

Re: The best of Froch will be unseen
i think froch would beat clev if he could hurt him. Clev will have higher output but i think the version of them both now would mean froch victory, clev just too easy to hit and untested at world level, completley untested at world level

I worry about Clev, I think hes going to get schooled and/or stopped at some point in the near future.
Maybe he will just feast on cans for a while. His team are making noises about big fights though.

Yes, and that was probably the best of Froch (so far) for a casual fan.

Re: The best of Froch will be unseen
To be honest I don't think Clev will ever be the top man in his division. His defence has been very suspect at the level he is fighting now, how can it possibly hold up against the top guys. I think Frank Warren knows this as well and will happily match Clev with eastern bloc bumbs, the odd domestic rivals and fringe contenders on the american scene. I think the only time Clev is gonna fight the top guys is if he himself forces the issue and this would require him to depart from Warren's stable.

Froch would spank Cleverley if they met any time in the next 2 years.

Not to sure about that if Clev keeps on improving. Obviously would fancy Froch right now but this time next year with more experience/improvement for Clev and bearing in mind he's operating at LH I can imagine Froch having his work cut out to beat him if they where to meet in 2012.

Re: The best of Froch will be unseen
Ive seen twice on Ringside now that Froch has said hes looking for a domestic fight after Ward. That would be in about a years time probably. I think he might want to take his foot off the pedal for a moment after Ward.
Realistic that could only mean Cleverly at lightheavy with a very outside possibility of Groves and DeGale (ant see it happening).
I suspect Froch means Cleverly when he says domestic. If Cleverly is still a world champ then the fight will happen I think.
