Great Year for Boxing? Empty Great Year for Boxing?

Post by DDGO2 Tue Dec 16, 2014 11:55 am

I think so. Celebrities are talking about the sport, big fights, HUGE fights, loads of record attendances, it's been great, in Britain really great.

However, 2015 could be terrible.

Hearn heart Haymon worries me.

His PPV obsession.

The size of his stable.

Mayweather and his ego is ruining the sport in America.

I hate how he controls things and fear two dog **** fight before retiring.

I don't like Bob Arum.

There's much to fear, but we have hope, what is that hope???

1. Potential Manny vs. Floyd fight could happen
2. Cold War between Top rank and Golden boy is over
3. The rise of GGG
4. Brook vs. Khan
5. The return of Andre Ward....

2015 could be a good/ great year of boxing.

Canelo is set on fighting 02 May in hbo. If he fights Cotto on that date, mayweather will need someone pretty special to compete in terms of ppv.

I'm not really worried about haymon / hearn. Im not convinced that haymon is the big bad wolf, there are a lot of vested interested in publicising him as such though.
Hearn is british boxing now. That's the reality. I was adamantly opposed to cleverly v bellew on ppv, and would be worried that 2015 could be a year of pants ppv.
