First topic message reminder :

Well its that time of year...pushing for new contracts...the rumour mill starts to fly...

Any you hear...post them here.....

The first two I've heard...

Priestland to Bath
Carl Fearns - Bath to Falcons.

The problem is Sgt I see Barnes as more of a 12. And not a top class one.

With that in mind...id rather persevere this season with what we have.

Bring in another young English lad to battle with Catterick. And we have Socino at 12 who is playing very well.

Bugger off with Priestland to Newcastle, I'd rather have Godman!

Barnes is fantastic at either 10/12, he's such a good footballer. He'd make such a difference to us GF, I really rate him.

Ps I agree about Godman but I suspect he will be gone anyway.

Cleg as back up and work with Catterick.

Don't spend a fortune on Barnes who isn't what we need in my opinion of course, and its an opinon shared by many of my Australian mates who I have quizzed about him.

Clegg can be chased GF, he's nowhere near good enough. I'd prefer to run with Cattrick/Socino

Oh I think from now till the end of the season that should def be our first choice...
Catterick / Socino.

Barnes has played 51 times for Australia and you don't get that if your a bad player. So If we signed him, It would be a great signing...and adds more quality to the squad....

But I just really think from the glimpses we've seen from Catterick we could have the makings of the very good FH we thought we had when he came on the scene a few years back.

How much do you think Barnes would be asking for?

Of course the last Aussie back who played for us went on to become a club legend....remember that young man?

We need a goal kicker Welly lol.

If he'd be half as good as Burke I'd be happy. He really could be that player, he's equally as good at 10/12/15, such a clever player and tactical kicker.

We shall see...

A) If the rumours are true...
B) What he would turn out like.

At least we have the second half of the season to really see if Catterick has what it takes as well.

formerly known as Sam wrote:Bakkies is also retiring so it might be Manoa is being eyed up as a second row. Gorgodze can also step up to the second row so imagine that as a back five combo.

4. Manoa
5. Gorgodze
6. Lobbe
7. Armitage
8. Vermulen

Though there are rumours Armitage will come back to England as the intention to return would help get him into the England squad ahead of the RWC.

Robson is a huge loss for Glaws their team looks so much more fluent in attack when he's playing.

Priestland would have been a good fit up at Newcastle and fit in nicely with their new style of play. Barnes will do well for them as well but isn't the biggest and Falcons need all the help they can get in defence.

Isn't eben etzebeth eyed as a Botha replacement

 Could have
 4) Monoa
 5) Etzebeth
 6) Lobbe
 7) Armitage
 8) Vermulen

Didn't see that one coming! Strange that Wasps are letting a guy that consistently score so many tries go, it's not like they are lacking in funds anymore either! Reckon they might have their eye on a big fish post World Cup...?

It's probably more a case of Bristol offering big money rather than Wasps letting him go

A good signing for Brizz! They have a larger playing budget than some in the premiership I think, if they come up they certainly won't be a London Welsh.

yeah was mentioned a while back, Parling is unhappy with how the Tigers handled the media when he was out due to injury. he could still resign for us though.

Having the players doesn't keep you up. Saints and Quins can tell you that. There are coached by Robinson and Holley remember. That's if they get up. Worcester are doing well and should be more settled.

Next season could be interesting actually...

We're playing much better...
Irish should strengthen
Wuss or Bristol are much stronger than L.Welsh

Could be very tight at the bottom....

I think someone will have a crap season and be the relegation favourites. But hopefully they'll be able to turn it around towards the end of the season and give a crack (whereas I just can't see Welsh improving anywhere near enough). Even last time Leeds went down they had a chance of staying up if the got the TBP win against Saints @FG and someone (Falcons?) got nothing. No chance, but then Leeds got three early tries and the tension built...before they got beaten with nothing from the season.

Think how Sale nearly went down a few years ago. Wasps as well. A load of injuries or a chance of coaches not working and you can drop quickly.

The TV2 → Bristol moved confirmed by Wasps. Will Helu to leave also. Andy Goode has been offered a senior coaching job at Wasps but is keeping his options open.

The signing of Gopperth just fills me with gloom!

Saints have signed/to sign JJ Hanrahan for next year, confirmed.

WHY? We have Myler, arguablely the best all round 10 in the AP, Wilson is a more than capable 10 and Will Hooley who has not let us down when he has been needed.

He coped well in the AIs but probably needs another year, James Wilson however is pretty accomplished at 10, 11, 13, 14 & 15
