Frankie Gavin to Matchroom? Empty Frankie Gavin to Matchroom?

Post by wheelchair1991 Fri 23 Jan 2015, 7:45 am

I saw a couple of days ago that Gavin and Frank Warren have parted ways, Eddie Hearn has a major signing planned next week and it looks like it will be Gavin

Thoughts?

Another one bites the dust for fisheyes, what a crying shame. Onwards and upwards for Eddie. What a man he is, god I wish I was more like him!

I think Gavin may have found his level and he can't be easy to promote.

Wasn't he on the verge of a title shot with Warren?

Perennial disappointment, Gavin, bit of a waste of talent really.

European (think Bundu vacated).

Doesn't have enough power at world level and isn't super fit enough to run rings around people. Good little craftsman but yeah, a bit of a waste really.

After the fiasco of the last Fury bill and the rumoured tenuous state of Matchroom..I wouldn't blame anyone leaving.

But Hearn has so many fighters to please where does he fit a disappointment like Gavin in..

Ahh, ok, now I understand. Yeh, it was the Matchroom/FWP bit that confused me!

Not surprised Gavin has left, always came across as someone who likes to blame others rather than himself. Wouldn't be surprised if he's blaming the matchmakers for losing to Bundu and then barely scraping past Skeete, a fight which some thought he lost.

Speaking of people leaving their promoters, Amir Khan is now a free agent having left Golden Boy a few days ago.

You don't know If there is more to it, Hampo.

Bit unfair others leave and that's ok....and yet he leaves and he's a T**T.

Maybe Truss, but when a guy has a history of issues outside of the ring and blaming others it is bound to lead to questions asked.

Gavin to Matchroom? Looks like Eddie's got his back-up plan in place for Kell if he can't lure Khan in to a stadium super fight in 2015, then.

Start rumors that it was Gavin that shot him in Spain !!

Could be another Haye - Chisora..

Could even get Luxembourg involved....and go the whole hog.

How free is free?

He's one of Al Haymon's 'stable' now.

Hang fire on the "major" signing then Eddie....this kid is over rated and lazy.

Waste of talent.

Not sure this is such a loss for Warren. Gavin hasn't looked good as a pr, and looked bad versus Bundu. Hs focus on the sport is notoriously poor and he has no fan base to speak of. Unless Hearn can convince him to drop to 140 (he is still not a Welter, IMO) and actually focus on his craft 100%, I don't see much upside for him. I am not writing Franky off. I think he has good talent, but he has looked bad for a while.

That said, DeGale looked very veyr poor under Hennessey. Since joining Hear, he has looked world class.
